“Ready to have me to yourself?” His tone implied the human expression of teasing, but I nodded.

“Yes. I have shared you enough and will have to do so again tomorrow.” That would take getting used to. Whatever was mine should stay mine, but I was going to have to share my human.

Sharing was not caring.

“But we have privacy now.” He performed the Daddy head kiss and rubbed my back, sending signals about his own thoughts. Reading about humans had been incredibly smart on my part. They did so many physical things to communicate. “And I don’t have anywhere else to be until mid-morning tomorrow.”

Meetings.

People from every planet loved meetings.

Oh.

“Are you hinting about what you would like or are you just giving me information?” His tone had been too careful for me to guess. “Some humans prefer to go slow.”

Was he a go-slow kind of human?

At what point did he want to resume our previous conversation?

When was it appropriate to show him my toys?

More communication was definitely necessary…but since he was my Dominant, did I need to wait for him to initiate the discussion?

What would the submissives in my books do?

Hmm.

A more dangerous question might be to wonder what the dragons on the other side of the gate would do, but I wasn’t sure I would ever be ready for that level of stress.

They enjoyed making questionable decisions but I just wanted to find comfort with my mate and to finally meet my Daddy.

Chapter 10

Agent Murphy

Was I a human who liked to go slow?

“I don’t want or need to go slow with you, but you have to let me know what you’re thinking too.” This was not all about me no matter what his instincts seemed to tell him. “Is my staying over a good thing, something you’re not ready for, or neutral?”

Doing my best to phrase the options so they wouldn’t lead him one way or the other, I continued rubbing his back and snuggled him closer. Klynn made a soft, breathy almost-sigh that was probably supposed to tell me a lot if I’d been raised on this side of the portal.

He didn’t seem to be in any hurry to move away from me, though, so I took the sound as a good sign and let him process. My boy was either thinking hard about something or just couldn’t make up his mind, but I wasn’t going to start randomly guessing which yet.

“I must show you my things if you stay.” That seemed to have a great deal of meaning to him based on the way he started slowly running his fingers over my chest, but I didn’t have enough context clues. “That is an important step in a relationship.”

Things…toy things?

He’d already admitted that he was curious about the little side of BDSM, so it wasn’t that far of a leap. “We take steps when we’re ready for them. If you want us to spend time together tonight but aren’t ready for showing me things, I can have dinner here or with you somewhere else while we hang out and then we can go back to my place to cuddle.”

Had he given me any clues about where he wanted to sleep later?

Had I given him any indications about that?

“I will feed you here.” Still petting me, Klynn didn’t seem to have any hesitation about that decision. “We will explore your ability to use our cooking facilities another time.”

Good because they looked daunting and I didn’t have any food at all in my place. Everyone had taken turns inviting me places, so I wasn’t sure they’d thought about teaching me to fend for myself. It was probably that treating me like a toddler mentality because I knew the others that’d come through the gate with me weren’t being treated the same way.

They’d gotten complete tours of their apartments and had fully stocked kitchens with things they really couldn’t identify.

So yeah, I wasn’t sure which of us had the better deal.

Wren had tried to make what he’d thought had been a pasta product and the results hadn’t been appetizing. Evidently it was baby food that broke down when any liquid was added to it. We were pretty sure it was a miscommunication about the age play thing and not anyone deliberately fucking with him, but he’d stopped doing all experimenting in the kitchen.

“Thank you for taking care of me, baby.” No, I had the better deal when it came to food. “You’ve been a good teacher so far.”

Oh, he liked that.

I got the barest of squirms and he turned to hide his face against my neck. “That…that is an important part of my role in the domination culture.”

Kissing his head, I focused on the way he was moving and the subtle shifts in his tone instead of just his words. “I think that’s a part of domination culture that you like and that you’re going to be good at.”
