My stomach did a weird flip-flop when his eyes opened slowly and the smirk he wore grew into a sleepy smile. “Oh, hey. This is a surprise. If Daddy wants me to get up, I don’t wanna yet. Come cuddle with me.”

I swear sometimes it was as if Jordan was made up of happiness and sunshine. He didn’t let things bother him. He was go-with-the-flow in a way I’d never been, and part of me wished I could borrow some of it, that he would lend me some of his light so I wasn’t so worried about everything all the time. Maybe if I spent enough time with him, some of that brightness would rub off on me.

He patted the bed. “Please come lie with me, Ian.” I walked over, took off my shoes and my socks too as they were a little sweaty. I went to climb into the bed, but Jordan shook his head. “There’s a naked-in-bed rule. David didn’t tell you? No one is allowed in bed unless they’re naked.”

“That’s David’s rule, huh?” I cocked a brow, and the light inside him burned brighter.

“No. I lied. It’s my rule, and I just made it up. Do I get points for telling the truth?”

I couldn’t help returning his grin. “I guess, but if you lie again, I might have to spank you.” Saying that made a part of me soar, while another felt like a fraud.

Jordan wiggled his ass. “Swear?”

I chuckled, tugged off my clothes, and got into the bed with him. I pulled the blankets up and over us, Jordan immediately snuggling into me.

“David blew me, and I blew him,” stumbled out of my mouth.

“Damn it! I missed it—wait, did you think I’d be upset?”

“Well, no, but…I don’t know. This is new for me.”

“What are we going to do with you? I’m so glad you’re playing with us. I’ve wanted to fuck around with you for a while. And it’s okay that you and David had some time just the two of you. I’ve had quite a few encounters with him and not you. Hopefully you and I will have some between us, and I really, really want to do a lot with all three of us together. Plus, I think David’s good for you.”

They were probably both good for me. “He’s making us breakfast. He sent me up because he thinks you’re good for me too.”

“I am. I’m a little awesome that way.” He winked, and I shook my head at him but had to bite back a smile too. “He’s good at making everything else go away, though, isn’t he? When he touches you…talks to you…tells you what to do.”

“Yeah. It’s so weird. I never thought I’d like that.”

“No, you?” he teased.

“You really are naughty, aren’t you?”

“A naughty kitten.” Jordan rolled over and straddled me. He bent forward and kissed the left side of my neck. “Your naughty kitten.” The right side. “Daddy’s naughty kitten.” It surprised me then, when he lay down, settled between my legs with his head on my chest. “Tell me about it.”

The thing was, I’d needed to. David knew it when he sent me up, and Jordan knew it now. The three of us were somehow on the same wavelength, as if connected by invisible wires I hadn’t known were there, that had maybe been fusing together for longer than I was willing to admit.

So I lay back and tried to let go the way Jordan did, tried to be open and not lock shit inside. I danced my fingers down his spine the way I did last night, and told him what happened between me and David. Not about Tony, that was David’s story to tell, but about our jog and that we talked about some important things and…what I had done—the sex-worker thing. It wasn’t something I’d expected to tell Jordan, but if I wanted to try and be more like him, maybe this was the way to start.

“There’s nothing wrong with that. Tell me you know it? There’s nothing wrong with doing what you have to do to take care of yourself. Hell, there’s nothing wrong with sex work if you just do it because you want to.”

“I agree, but at least then it’s a choice. I didn’t have one.”

“Maybe you did, maybe you didn’t. Either way, I’ll never look down on you for what you did. All it does is make me wish I had an Ian in my life a whole lot longer than I have—and maybe not any Ian. Just this one.”

“Oh, you’re good,” I teased.

“I try hard. Now tell me about the sex. I want to hear about that too.”

I told him everything—about the neighbor, and what we did, and how David got me to trust him, how he showed me he trusted me too.
