I grabbed three bottles of water and joined them, and we all scooped food onto our paper plates. The two of them began eating, and I sat back and watched them for a moment. Jordan was all in, mixing his food together and thoroughly enjoying it. He’d made it clear he had no qualms about taking what he wanted, savoring it, reveling in it. He would be the same when it came to sex. Ian, on the other hand, took things slower. He would eat a bite of rice, then a bit of chicken, then vegetables. He was more cautious and, I thought, afraid to let himself savor an experience.

“What?” Ian asked. “Do I have something on my face?”

“No, I just find you both interesting for completely different reasons.”

“You’re watching us eat? That’s creepy,” Jordan said playfully, but I cocked a brow. “Was that disrespectful? Geez, these rules are hard-core.”

I chuckled. “No, kitten. It was fine.”

“Did you call us down here to watch us eat?” Ian asked. “Is that one of your kinks?”

Jordan laughed, and I shook my head. “What am I going to do with both of you hanging out around here?” The truth was, I felt a draw toward both of them. I felt protective of both of them. “But no, that’s not why I wanted you to come down. I’d like to discuss our arrangement. We went quite quickly from friends who saw each other at Aidan and Finley’s to our lives being intertwined.”

“I don’t have to stay here.” Ian hadn’t looked at me when he spoke. Not at Jordan either. His eyes were on his food.

“Hell no. You’re staying.” Jordan turned to me. “I mean, if that’s what Sir wants… I really don’t know if that label feels right. I’m struggling with it.”

“We’ll sort it out,” I told Jordan, and then to Ian, “You’re staying. That’s not what this is about. I just want to make sure the lines of communication are open between the three of us. For example, I’m unaware if the two of you have any kind of sexual or friends-with-benefits history, but if you do, I want to make sure you both know that’s okay.” I didn’t figure Jordan doubted that since we’d said we wouldn’t be exclusive, but Ian would likely question it.

“We don’t,” Ian replied.

“But we can. I’d be down,” Jordan added.

“Wouldn’t that be weird?”

“Not to me,” Jordan told him. “It would be fun. Why not? Sex feels good. I don’t know about you, but I haven’t had a lot of good in my life, so I take it where I can get it. Tons of people are friends who fuck. But if you don’t want me, then—”

“Shut up. You know anyone would want you,” Ian countered, and I let them deal with it between them. “I don’t do that stuff David does, though.”

“You think too much, and it’s been getting worse. You were more easygoing when I first met you.”

I felt the same when it came to Ian. I’d seen the transition in him, and I didn’t even know him that well.

Ian ignored the comment and got back to the original discussion. “So you just wanted me and Jordan to know we could have sex with each other and you wouldn’t mind?”

Jordan said, “I have a feeling he also wants to have sex with you, and he’s making sure it wouldn’t be weird to me—and it wouldn’t. It would be hot. I’d like to join or watch, but I wouldn’t be upset if I wasn’t there.”

“Do I need you to answer for me, Jordan? Or to make assumptions on what I want?”

His eyes widened as he realized what he’d done. “Oops?”

“And here I was, planning on making you come tonight. I’m going to have to reconsider that decision.”

He frowned. “What? No. That’s not fair! You didn’t let me come with you last time either,” Jordan whined.

“Then remember to mind your manners. I can speak for myself. Be good, and I’ll still consider it.”

Jordan grumbled, “Yes, David.”

“It’s okay. Now, my point in this was to make sure the two of you know that you’re welcome to play with each other if that’s something you do, or want to do, but also to make sure you’re both comfortable with the arrangement—with Ian being here, with what Jordan and I will be doing. I spoke with Ian privately, and the two of you spoke, but it’s important that the three of us have a chance to do the same. You can both come to me with anything—questions, help, someone to take the pressure off, or if you feel uncomfortable with something. Whatever it is, I’ll do my best to deal with it.”

“Thank you,” Jordan replied. “I want that—someone to take care of me.”

“I know you do, kitten, and I’m going to enjoy the hell out of it.” I let my gaze wander to Ian, who was watching things play out between us. “That goes for you too, okay? I know my relationship with Jordan isn’t the same as mine with you, but if you need something, I’d like you to come to me. If you have questions or concerns about anything that happens here, come to me. You don’t have to do everything alone.”
