“I know I fucked up.”
“Yeah, you did, and right now, I don’t even want to look at you. I love you, Casey Richards, I probably always will, but right now, I hate you more than I love you.”
Chapter Three
One Year Later
Venom stepped inside his home, and he had not been here for five years. Five years was a long time to be in prison, but it could have been so much worse.
The moment he saw Maverick, he held out his hand, and they shook.
“It is good to have you back, brother.”
This was not the first time he had gotten out of prison, and it probably wouldn’t be the last. He had a problem with his anger, but this last time, the bastards he killed, or allegedly killed, had it coming. After abusing a dog and posting that shit on social media, Venom had tracked them down and made them beg long before death had come.
He was not a people person. People were monsters. They were the Devil in disguise. There was no goodness in the human race, they were all fucking monsters. He accepted it.
Animals were a completely different story. They were good. It was people that made them bad. He would take the company of animals any day rather than humans—apart from the club. Evil Dwellers MC was his home. It was where he didn’t have to fucking try. He could just live his life, and people left him the fuck alone.
“It hasn’t been the same without you,” Maverick said.
“You’re kissing my ass. Does that mean you already want me to kill someone?” Venom asked, and he would be more than happy to oblige.
Maverick laughed. “Not really.”
Venom looked around at the lackluster homecoming. There was food against the far wall.
“Isn’t my homecoming coinciding with an anniversary?” he asked, spotting Bolt, Maverick’s son, sitting at the bar.
The club went deathly silent.
“Venom,” Storm said, coming to greet him and throwing her arms around him.
He didn’t know what the fuck he had walked in on. The club looked fucking grim.
“Anyone want to tell me what the fuck is going on?” he asked.
Bolt grabbed the letter, flicked his lighter open, and set it aflame. “There’s her fucking divorce.” He tossed the document into a nearby trash can that looked like it had seen a few more burning documents.
Venom saw the anger. “What’s going on?”
Maverick nodded his head, and even though he wanted a piece of pie, he saw it was also shop-bought and not home-cooked. He didn’t like this, and entering Maverick’s office, Storm was not too far behind. This was not unusual to him.
“Morwenna caught Bolt cheating,” Maverick said.
“You’re kidding me?” Venom asked. “Since when was that lovesick puppy cheating?”
As far as he knew, Bolt and Morwenna were the club’s lovebirds. The cute couple. The kids that had fallen in love when they were literally kids, had a pregnancy scare, and got married. Morwenna loved Bolt, and Bolt loved Morwenna. At least, that was what Venom had seen. That is not what he was seeing today and he was shocked.
“She caught him with Star, and since then, she has asked him dozens of times for a divorce, but he always does the same. Sets it on fire, and she has to send another one.” Maverick shrugged. “She no longer works at the garage, and I do believe she lives with her parents now.”
“Wow, fuck me. I never expected this shit show when I got out.” Venom took a seat. “Does that explain the food?” He pointed behind him.
Storm winced. “Yeah, I am sorry about that. I have been busy and wanted to make it the best way I could.”
Just then, there was a knock at the door, and Venom looked toward Maverick. The man appeared exasperated. Storm went to the door, and it was Diesel. “You might want to come out, Morwenna has just arrived, and she is, uh, she has some food.”
Venom got to his feet, and along with Maverick and Storm, made his way outside. Gus Graves was there, as well as Willow, Morwenna’s parents. Gus didn’t like him, but he also didn’t like Gus. The man had a code, and as far as he was concerned, some codes didn’t fucking exist, because some men needed to be killed.
“Wen,” Bolt said, rushing outside, but Venom could tell the dude hadn’t been mourning his wife. He was shoving his shirt back into his pants, clearly trying to cover the fact he was screwing another woman.
Venom looked toward Morwenna, and he was shocked by how beautiful she looked. Sure, he had known Morwenna before he got sentenced. She’d been a mousey little thing. A little too talkative. She laughed a little too much. She’d been just a girl. The Morwenna before him now was a woman, and she was stunning. Long, brown hair with streaks of purple was pulled into a ponytail. She wore a pair of shorts, and a crop top that seemed to emphasize her curves. She had nice large tits, a small waist, but juicy-looking thighs and hips. He’d never appreciated a too-slender woman. Not that there was a problem with them, he was a curves man, through and through.
