“I hate you,” she said. And with that, she slammed the door closed.
Bolt was lost for words. He put his hand on the door and tried to think of the right words, but all he had done was ruin everything.
He didn’t want to leave, and even though there was a door and brick walls between them, he heard the sob. It broke him. He caused this. He made her feel pain.
“Wen, babe, I am so sorry.”
“Leave. Can’t you do something right and actually leave me alone?” She ended the last part on a scream that would stay with him for a lifetime.
The last thing he wanted to do was leave, but he was only hurting her more by staying, and that he couldn’t stand. So, he turned on his heel and left, going to his bike and straddling his machine. He gave one last, lingering look to her home, at all the windows that faced him, waiting to see any sign of a curtain twitching, that would give him hope. There was nothing. She was not coming to him.
He turned over his engine, feeling his bike purr to life. Usually, he loved the growl of his bike, it took all his troubles away, but this was not taking anything away. This was not helping to ease his troubled mind. This was pain.
He rode back to the clubhouse, and the journey didn’t even matter to him. It didn’t register the roads he had taken, or how he got from Wen’s family home to the clubhouse. He parked his bike, walked inside, and sat at the bar. Music played, and several of the guys were enjoying the women on full display. But he didn’t listen to them. He asked for a beer, and it was handed to him, but he didn’t see or hear who gave him the beer. Tipping the bottle to his lips, he took a drink.
Wen’s face kept playing in his mind. The look in her eyes, the pain, and that sound as she screamed at him. He caused that. He hurt her. She knew the truth.
“Hey, baby,” Star said, running her hands across the back of his leather jacket.
This woman had made him hurt Wen. Usually, he got excited when Star came on to him, especially in a room full of other men. This time, she cost him everything.
He loved Wen with every fiber of his being. She’d been the love of his life for as long as he could remember. There was no easy way to look away from that. She was everything to him, and now, because of his own personal fuckup, that was gone. Wen was hurting because of him. He’d been fucking weak when it came to this nasty woman’s pussy. He had three kids, and none of them were Wen’s, and that pissed him off.
Bolt reacted.
This was the first time he ever attacked a woman, but he grabbed Star around the throat, and all manner of play was gone, as the club turned toward them. He had Star pinned up against the nearest wall.
“I see you,” he said, hating her.
Usually, he looked at Star, with her fake tits and smooth face that rarely had a mark on it. He knew she got Botox and did all the beauty shit to stay on top of the game. She was a selfish bitch who only thought about herself. Sure, she was a good mother, but right now, he couldn’t see anything good about her. He fucking hated her. She was a first-class bitch.
“Bolt!” She tried to claw at his wrists to get him to stop, but he wasn’t letting her go. She could still breathe, just barely, and right at that moment, he didn’t give a fuck if she could breathe or not. The sooner she died the better.
“Bolt, let her go now,” Maverick said.
He turned to look at his dad. “It’s all her fault.”
“It takes two to tango, son, you know that.”
Bolt stopped strangling her, but he didn’t let her go completely. “She knows,” he said. “Wen knows the truth. She knows about the three kids.”
He let Star go and collapsed to the floor as he let out a scream.

“You know, I think we need to stop meeting like this,” Venom said.
Wen looked up at him, and she let out a little smile. “I’m enjoying the sun, what is your excuse?”
“So much fucking drama at the clubhouse, it’s like living in a soap opera, and I’m starving, and the food there is not worth shit. I remember when you’d come and help Storm cook on a regular basis.”
“Yeah, well, that was when things were different and I didn’t have a husband who had three kids with another woman,” she said.
“Yeah, we kind of heard all about that,” Venom said, taking a seat beside her. Bolt was at the clubhouse, and he was sobbing, drowning his sorrows, and it was so fucking boring to see.
