“Please what?”

“I need you inside me.”

With my mouth covering hers, I pull my hips back, then push inside her perfect pussy. I go slow, so damn slow that we just hold each other’s gaze, soaking the other in.

And when I bottom out, she clenches around me, making me growl against her lips.

“I love you,” I whisper, then pull out until the tip is still inside, and slam back in, making us both moan. The pace is punishing now, no more holding back. I have to fuck her, claim her, ruin her for anyone else.

Because there will never be anyone else.

“Mine,” I growl again and grip her chin in my hand, holding her gaze as my hips thrust hard and fast.

“God, yes. So damn good,” she says. “Fuck.”

“Now you need to come on my cock, Wildfire.” I bite that lower lip. “Fucking strangle me, baby.”

I don’t have to tell her twice because she’s right there. Her jaw drops, and her whole body clenches as her pussy grips onto me so tight, it makes my eyes cross.

“Goddamn, you’re perfect.”

I couldn’t hold back if I tried. I come violently, splashing inside her until we’re both a panting, sweaty, blissed-out mess.

Still inside her, I roll us to our sides so I’m not crushing her.

“Are you okay?” I murmur, brushing her soft hair off her cheek.

“Pretty sure no one’s ever been better than I am right now.” She cups my face and leans forward to lightly kiss my lips.

We lie like this for a long time, quietly talking. Hands exploring. Until we fall into a deep sleep.

“Brooks.”

I shift in the bed, tugging her closer to me. “Go to sleep.”

“I need you to wake up.”

“No. Sleep.”

She chuckles and kisses my chest, but doesn’t nuzzle in to go back to sleep. “We have to go back to the other house.”

I crack an eye open. The sun is still down, and some of the candles’ batteries have died.

But my woman is in my arms, so everything is perfect.

“I’m happy here,” I tell her.

“I need to use the bathroom,” she whispers. “And I think I heard something scamper above us in the attic.”

“It’s not a ghost.”

She snorts. “I think it’s a squirrel or something.”

“It’ll go to sleep if we do.”

“Get up.”

I sigh deeply and drag my hand down my face. “Fine.”

“Come on. If we hurry, we don’t even have to get dressed. We can just scurry over there, and no one will see us.”

I lift an eyebrow and pull her to me. “No. No one sees you naked but me. Ever.”

“Well, then, come on.”

I drag on my slacks—no underwear—and she just loops the sheet from the bed around her like a toga, and we leave the bedroom, headed for the front door. I hear the noise above us, too. It’s probably squirrels or maybe a raccoon.

I won’t suggest bats. No need to scare her.

A few seconds later, we make it inside the other house, and Jules makes a beeline for the bathroom.

I open the fridge for a bottle of water and grin when I see that someone dropped off some food for us. It was probably my mom.

When I get back to the bedroom, Jules is already in bed. Dressed in one of my T-shirts, she’s waiting for me to join her.

“Come snuggle.” She holds her hand out for mine, and I get naked once more, then climb between the sheets and scoop her to me. “That’s better.”

“I have to go back to work later today,” I whisper against her hair as my lips drift back and forth.

“I know. I should, too.”

“Maybe in a couple of months, we can carve out some time for a honeymoon. Where do you want to go?”

She pulls back just a bit to look up at me. I’ll never get over how her blue eyes shine in the moonlight.

“Frankly, I’d love to take some time off together and stay here. Work on the house, spend time at the river, and have all the sex in the universe.”

“That’s a whole lot of sex.”

“You’re up for the challenge.”

I smirk and nudge her nose with mine. “You bet your ass I am. We can always take a trip later, if you want.”

“Where would you like to go?” she asks. Her fingertip drifts over my jawline, and it makes me a little drunk. “If you could go anywhere?”

“I’d love to take you somewhere tropical. Snorkel, swim, hike, and play. Not have to worry about the weather.”

“I changed my mind. Let’s do that.”

With a chuckle, I pull her in for a deep kiss. “We’ll make it happen, baby. Now, get some sleep.”

“Okay.” She yawns and curls up around me, as if we’ve been doing this all of our lives. As if the past fifteen years never happened, and she’s been here the whole time. And for the first time in all of those years, I don’t have a pit in my stomach. I feel complete, like my missing piece is finally here.
