Evander growled. “Fuck, baby, I don’t want to hurt you,” he said.
His gruff voice aroused her.
“You’re not hurting me. It just startled me at first.”
She looked up at him and waited. At first, he didn’t move. He locked their hands together, and it felt so intimate. Callie knew he was the one in charge. That was what he was trying to tell her, and she liked it. She liked him being in control, making all the decisions, and when he pulled out just a little, then pressed back in, she couldn’t help but cry out—but this was not from pain. This felt incredible.
“How does it feel?” he asked.
“Good,” she said. She felt her cheeks start to heat.
“Do you want more?”
“Yes.”
He tightened his grip on her hands, and then he pulled all of the way out, or at least she thought he was going to, but then he thrust back inside her. Callie tensed, but it was pointless to do so. She wasn’t hurting. This felt perfect.
Evander took it slow, his thrusts gliding inside her, and then pulling out until the tip of him was inside her, but then he’d slam inside again.
She loved the pressure of him. The fullness. He started to speed up, and the sounds of their slapping flesh echoed around the room. He let go of her hands, but he did so in order to grab the headboard, and Callie wrapped her hands around his tight waist, no longer caring that moments ago she was in pain. All she cared about now was the mindless pleasure they were experiencing and just how good it felt. She was connected to him on a deeper level, like they were one. She was no longer a virgin.
“You’re so fucking beautiful, Callie, and now you’re all mine.”
She had no idea what he meant as he suddenly tensed up and she cried out as the pleasure struck her hard. Evander let out an aroused groan, and she felt the hard kick of his cock as he came. She watched him, unable to look away. He looked so consumed with his pleasure, and she held onto him, knowing she was never going to forget this moment.
His pleasure was because of her, and that felt good.
When it was over, he didn’t pull away, but he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her. They were sweet kisses, as he pressed his lips to her shoulder, and then took her mouth. With one of his hands, he stroked her hair out of the way, and he ran the other down the curve of her back, toward her ass. Her body was on fire. She felt so alive.
There was not a single moment of regret. This is what she had wanted. Evander was the first man she had ever trusted. She just wondered what all of this meant now. What would it lead to?
“Tell me what’s on your mind,” he said, putting a finger beneath her chin to get her attention.
She let out a little giggle. “Nothing.”
“No regrets?”
“None. I’m glad my first time was with you.”
“Callie, baby, I’m the only man you’re ever going to be with.”
She didn’t see that as a threat, but a promise, and she liked the sound of it.
Chapter Six
“What did you do?” Bastian asked.
“What are you talking about?”
Evander had his gun-cleaning kit out and all the components of his weapon laid out in order. He was methodical when it came to his guns and their care.
Bastian scoffed. “I know you better than that. You look like the cat who ate the canary.”
He shrugged. “A man can’t be happy?”
“Not you.”
“Pass me the aerosol,” Evander said.
His friend passed it to him, then sat on the edge of the table. “Where’s the girl? The one from last week.”
“What girl?” He sprayed one of the parts and began wiping it down.
Bastian exhaled. “Did you kill her? I mean, it’s none of my business, and you can kill whoever the fuck you want to kill. I’m just curious.”
It had been a few days since he’d taken Callie’s virginity. He hadn’t attempted to have sex with her again, wanting her to fully heal. Not that he hadn’t wanted to. He knew he should have waited longer before bedding her, so he was trying to get his self-control in check as well.
Business had been suffering so he’d been catching up lately, sneaking in uncomplicated hits between his time with Callie. He wasn’t sure how long he could keep this up, hiding a major side of his life from the woman who held his heart. But he couldn’t risk losing her. She was too damn sweet and kind. No way she’d settle with a criminal like him.
“She’s not dead, for fuck’s sake. Lay off.”
“Okay, okay. She’s back at Guy’s Titties?”
He ground his teeth. “I thought you agreed it’s none of your business?” Evander said.
