"Fair." He runs his hands up and down my thighs. I still have my leggings on from yesterday.
"But we need to talk about you lying to me." I give him a pointed look, or I try to, the same one my mom often gives me.
"I never said I was a lawyer."
"Not that. I was owed two orgasms last night and… nothing." A sexy grin spreads across his face.
"I thought it best not to wake you, but now that I know I can—" I let out a small scream when he flips me, pinning me under him. "I'm more than willing and happy to make it up to you."
His hands have mine pinned over my head, and they're locked around my fingers. I'm so going to fall for this man. He checks all these boxes in my mind I had when it came to what I would want. He's also shown me other things I'd want after experiencing them with him. The man does handle me quite easily and completely unbothered. Maybe, just maybe, there’s hope for him still.
"If you insist." I want to touch him too, I think as his mouth descends onto mine. I let out a small moan when his tongue pushes into my mouth, not waiting for me to part my lips for him. He has a way of taking what he wants, but it's laced in sweetness.
Blaring sounds break me out of my lust. "My alarm," I tell him. It takes my mind a second to recall why I have an alarm set at all. "Oh shit." I push at Pierce's chest. "I forgot I have a prior commitment. I gotta go." I wiggle around, trying to get out. "How much do you weigh?"
"Six four and 230 pounds."
"Holy shit, you're over a hundred pounds heavier and a foot taller than me."
“Is my size an issue for you?” I’m about to say something smart back until I feel his hard cock press against me. I narrow my eyes at him, knowing he did that on purpose. He’s unaffected by my fake annoyance and smirks at me.
“Size doesn’t matter from what I’ve heard. Not that I’d know or anything,” I quickly add. That stupid but way too sexy smirk of his grows into a full-on smile. He loves when I get all flustered and blurt things out.
This man fits me too well.
“I can handle you.” Maybe.
“I know, my wife can handle just about anything.” He presses a kiss to my mouth before releasing his hold on me. I lie there for a moment, loving his confidence in me. He grabs my phone, silencing the alarm.
“Shit.” I jump up and hurry to the closet to grab clothes before heading into the bathroom to get ready. When I come out, Pierce is fully dressed in a sweater and jeans paired with boots. Why do all his clothes fit him as though they were custom-made for him? "You'll give me a ride? I don't have a vehicle."
"I've been warned that's a good thing." I can't rebut that.
"So you can drop me at the bakery?"
"Not going to drop you. I'll spend the day with you." He grabs his keys.
"You would rather not do that. I'm working at the bakery, and I have a handful of other jobs I need to tend to." He'll be bored. The man works with numbers in fancy offices.
"And I can't help?" This really would be a good way for both of us to see the other in action when it comes to the day-to-day. If Pierce is really in this for the long haul as he claims, we'll find out quickly.
"All right." He hands me a breakfast burrito.
"How and when?"
"I can't tell you all my secrets."
"Oh, you will," I say, heading out the door.
It takes no time to get to town, but I see the drive differently now that the cabin might be home. I instruct Pierce to park in the back of the bakery. It's still fairly early, but with Valentine's Day almost here, Rosemary could use the extra hands.
I knock on the back door, and it swings open. "Ope, I didn't think you'd be coming," Rosemary says, stepping back so that we can enter.
"Why wouldn't I? I always show up." I might be chaotic, but when I say I'll do it, I will. I’m not one to half-ass anything.
"I know, but things change." She flicks a glance over to Pierce. "Nice to see you again." Right, forgot he's been running all around this town. "It kills me that you ended up engaged to a man named Pierce Harte." Rosemary laughs. "Shit, I'll be right back." She rushes into her office to answer the phone. I turn to face my husband.
"She knows your full name, but I don't." I glare at him.
"I suppose. When they asked for a name for my order the other day, I said Harte. It is my last name." I didn't even know my husband's last name. Technically it’s mine too now. Why did I think this was going to work? "Tinsley." Pierce grips my shoulders. "Don't pull back from me. It was a small thing, and I was trying to keep it from you for a bit. I was having fun with the lawyer thing."
