“Do you think my friend Bailey will be there?” I’ve wondered when she would remember how badly she wanted to see her friend from college. I’m surprised she didn’t start begging me to set up a play date as soon as she started speaking. But she’s been preoccupied.
The truth is, I’ve already spoken to Zingar, Bailey’s Papi. They will meet us at the park this afternoon. I know Allisa will be excited.
As we get closer to Ekert’s house, my girl grows a bit pensive. She gives up looking around at all the pretty new colors she’s learning and leans back in her stroller. That pacifier goes right back into her mouth. She only took it out to ask about the park.
When we arrive, I unfasten her restraints and lift her out of the stroller to prop her on my hip. She’s sucking so hard that her jaw must hurt. Except in reality, she has suckled this nipple most of the time for six months. By the time we arrived on Eleadia, she was already addicted and had adjusted to the constant sucking.
As we approach the front door, I remind her, “You know the rule, Baby girl. You must take the binky out of your mouth when interacting with other people. You will be polite and courteous to both Ekert and his Little girl, Sophie. Remember your manners.”
She whimpers as she snuggles into me, pressing her cheek against my neck. I can feel the tension wafting off of her as I knock on the door. As soon as it opens, she stiffens in my arms.
Part of her trepidation is from the reason we’re here, but the other part of her anxiety is from meeting new people. That’s normal. Even the most outgoing of human females experience some stress when encountering other humans.
Our customs are so very different from those on Earth, and every Little girl worries that they will meet someone who isn’t diapered, pierced, and babied. It’s a natural feeling.
The moment Ekert and Sophie come into view, Allisa relaxes marginally in my arms. A second later, she drops the pacifier from her lips and gasps.
Sophie’s eyes are wide and incredulous, too.
Before I have a chance to ask what secret these two are silently communicating, Sophie giggles. “We look like we could be twins.”
I glance back and forth between them. She’s right. I hadn’t thought of that. I’ve only met Sophie a few times, but she has white-blond hair, pale skin, and blue eyes just like Allisa. I assume it’s shocking because Allisa has told me her hair color is rather rare on Earth.
Ekert chuckles as he opens the door wider. First, he nods toward me and then addresses my Little girl. “It’s nice to meet you, Allisa. Please, come in.”
Sophie is holding on to his leg, but she bounces excitedly on her toes as we enter.
After shutting the door, I squat down to set Allisa on her feet, keeping my arm around her. She hasn’t stood on her own for over six months, and it’s not something I’m going to allow, especially in light of the fact that we’ll be embarking on a deeper level of regression. But I want her to be able to face Sophie eye-to-eye and make friends.
“What do you say, Baby girl?” I prompt. She hasn’t uttered a word yet even though she did release the pacifier, which now dangles from the ribbon.
She tips her head back to look up at Ekert first. “Nice to meet you, Sir.”
I give her hips a squeeze. “Good girl. Such nice manners.”
Her cheeks pinken at my praise. I’m not surprised. She’s embarrassed at being called out for something so babyish in front of other people.
Luckily, Sophie breaks the ice again when she points at Allisa’s pacifier. “That’s such a pretty color of binky. I haven’t seen one like that before.” She tips her head back to look up at Ekert. “Can I get one like that, Papi?”
Ekert strokes her hair indulgently. “I don’t think so, Little one. I saw that style at the clinic the last time we were there and asked Chadka about it. It’s not the right type for you, Sophie.”
She humphs. “Poop. It’s pretty.”
Allisa picks it up and strokes her lips with the nipple. I know she wants to put it in her mouth. She’s trying really hard not to. “It’s, um…” These are her first words since we arrived, and I’m surprised she’s considering telling Sophie about this brand of pacifier.
There’s a brief awkward silence, and then Ekert clears his throat. “Why don’t we go into the shop. We’ve made some additions lately. We added a human-sized table and chairs where Sophie can sit with newly arrived Littles and show them the stones she helped choose. But we also added an area with a blanket in case any Baby girls aren’t ready to sit in chairs or stand yet.”
