“I’m fine angel.”
He shifted his weight and she saw two men there she didn’t recognize but from Ronan’s reaction, she didn’t think it was the delivery guys. She set the knife down and walked toward him, wiping her hands off on the towel on her shoulder.
The men were fit and hot. Tall, broad shouldered, narrow waists. Their jeans were well worn, their shirts faded and stretched over their chests. Cornflower blue eyes on the tallest one and the other had hazel eyes with green flecks. Both men gave her a respectful nod and “ma’am” before turning their attention back Ronan.
Ronan slid his arm around her, tucking her close to his side.
“Sirs.”
They shared an amused look.
“None of us are active duty anymore, you can call us by our first names.” Those cornflower eyes came back to her. “I’m Scott and this is Tyson.”
“Nice to meet you both. I’m Vivyan.” She didn’t reach for their hands having learned Ronan wasn’t a fan of other men touching her. Even if it was only a handshake. “I’ll deal with the delivery while you talk.”
All three shook their heads. “No ma’am, we’ll help with the delivery and talk to Ronan here at the same time.”
“I’ll make more sides then and you’ll stay for supper.” She pushed up on her toes and kissed Ronan’s cheek.
Vivyan walked back to the kitchen and heard one of the men say, “I get it. We both have wives like that. You’re a lucky man. We’re looking forward to having you as a part of Tungsten Protective Services.”
“Angel?”
She paused and turned back, eyebrows raised. “Yes?”
“I love you.”
Blowing him a kiss, she finished her trek to the kitchen and went to the fridge, knowing she was going to need a lot more food. But that was fine, tonight was a celebration.
