“Fae have to see the oracle before we can procreate. That happens when a male is at least twenty, but often it is much, much later. I’ve never been concerned about it. We don’t have sexual diseases.”

“And you are how old? Eight hundred? Two thousand?” She lifted up before climbing into his lap. She had the short nightdress on and the fae rendition of underwear, which was something like briefs, but she figured he’d want to unwrap her, like a present.

His eyes were hooded, the gold winning the war against the black around his pupil. “I’m a mere thirty. An adolescent in fae years. Not often taken seriously.”

Her family hadn’t treated her that way, since she’d grown up fast and early, but everyone else did, given she was young for humans. She knew how he felt.

She slid her hand around to the back of his neck and gently coaxed him closer. Her knees hit the mattress beside his hips, and she tucked her shins under his crossed legs. Chest nearly to chest, she started to lower herself onto him.

He stopped her, grabbing the edges of the nightdress and lifting it. She raised her arms so he could pull it over her head. He tossed it away before one hand landed on her back and the other slid up her stomach. His gaze stuck to hers as he leaned over, until the last moment, when his tongue flicked her taut nipple.

She breathed out, letting her head fall back as his hot mouth enveloped her. He sucked and played as his other hand kneaded the opposite breast. He switched, and she pulsed her hips, feeling it deep in her core.

He pulled back, his eyes on hers again, and slowly lowered her. His thumb found her apex as his hard length settled against her underwear-clad core. He moved his thumb as his lips found hers, groaning when she gyrated on top of him.

“Wait…” She pulled back but he kept going. She drank in the sensations. “You were sleeping naked next to me? Is this what you were planning all along?”

He smiled, capturing her lips again. “I passed out in the other room, actually,” he murmured against them. “They must’ve brought me in here. I woke up not long before you did. That’s why I played the memory for you. I figured that was the least embarrassing way.”

“For you.”

“Obviously. What, you thought you’d be embarrassed by the princess making a show of how much I didn’t want to fuck her?”

She deepened the kiss, reaching down between them and capturing his length. He sucked in a breath as she stroked. He hooked his thumbs into her underwear.

“Equilas, help me. I want this so badly,” he breathed, pushing her back until she lay on the bed. He pulled the underwear away before kissing up the insides of her thighs.

She nearly told him not to use that god’s name but refrained for the sake of the moment.

“Let’s try to quiet that mind of yours, shall we?”

She could feel the smile on his lips…and hear the jingle of the lock on the door in the outer room.

He paused, then kept sliding his lips up and up until he licked right where it counted. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head, and she spread wider. He sucked as his fingers became active…and someone appeared in the bedroom doorway.

“Oh shit,” Niall blurted before peeling away. “No, no,” he said in a frantic whisper. “Don’t go—”

Someone else filled the doorway as Tarian pulsed his suction and two of his fingers filled her just right.

“Oh shit,” Lennox murmured, exiting quickly. She should’ve died from embarrassment, but…it felt too good. She’d count this as practice for what was almost certain to come.

“What did I just say?” Niall demanded. “No, not you too!”

“Why? What is he— Oh, hell yeah!” Kayla snickered before she left again. “See? Please the female. We are much more manageable when we’ve been properly seen to.”

“I guess you’ve never been properly seen to, then, huh?” Niall asked her.

“Just like all the females you’ve been with, yeah,” she responded.

Daisy started to chuckle helplessly, her focus fractured.

Tarian pushed up to his elbows. “I can make them go, but time has gotten away from me. I have important matters to see to this sun. Either we do this another time or we hurry. I vote hurry.” He paused for an answer, and she couldn’t bring herself to say another time. “Yes?” Tarian lifted his eyebrows. He nodded. “Yes.”

He ducked back down between her thighs.

“No. Damn it!” She grabbed him by his hair and dragged him up her body.

“I’m getting mixed signals here, dove.” He crawled up with a smile, sliding his big body between her knees.

She half laughed, half moaned as his hard length settled against her wetness. She dragged his head down and captured his lips. The feel of him against her felt so right. So comfortable. Easy, as though this was how intimacy was supposed to be. Safe…when he was the most dangerous person she’d ever met in her life.
