And he didn’t give a fuck that he’d done it by putting up cameras around to keep an eye on him to watch for Ortega.

“I was so scared,” she told him. “I didn’t know how I was going to escape them. I knew you’d be looking for me . . . but I didn’t know how you’d find me before they . . . before they hurt me.”

“I will never let that happen again,” he said, tightening his arms around her. “Never again.”

She clung to him tightly, still trembling.

“No matter what, I’m always going to be here for you, Addie. I’m not going anywhere. We’re going to get through this. Monroe is safe, Dotty is safe, and you are safe. We’ll find somewhere else to live. We’re going to create an office for you and a playroom and you can decorate it how you like. Although I’m kind of hoping you don’t like pink as much as Bonnie does.”

She let out a small, soft laugh, and he relaxed even further. His girl was coming back to him.

“This is forever, remember? You’re mine. I’m yours. The girl that brought me back my control, that gave me a sense of purpose. The girl I love, I trust, and I cherish. My forever girl.”

EPILOGUE

Addie grabbed the sprinkles and poured them straight onto the gooey mess on the mat.

Sure, they kind of went everywhere, but who cared? That was a problem for Daddy, not her. Daddy wouldn’t get mad.

Well, maybe he’d be a bit upset at her. But he wouldn’t yell.

Her bottom tingled, reminding her that she’d gotten a spanking for sneaking out of bed this morning to work while Cash was working out in their home gym.

He was up early so why couldn’t she be?

Okay, yeah, she’d worked later last night than she was meant to. And yes, he’d told her that he wanted her to sleep in.

But a girl had to get her work done, didn’t she?

Well, according to Cash she wasn’t allowed to work more than seven hours a day. And she could only work five days a week. He was such a fusspot.

Always fuss, fuss, fuss.

She stuck her hands into the mixture.

“And this is the way we mix the goo, mix the goo, mix the goo. This is the way we mix the goo on a sunny afternoon,” she sang.

Addie was in her playroom mixing up the greatest slime creation ever seen while Daddy was . . . hmm, where was he?

“Where did that sneaky Daddy go, Snaggles?” she asked.

Snaggles just gave her a huffy look. He’d moved away from her slime creation, not wanting to get his fur matted. Last time it had happened, she’d cried.

Then Snaggles had cried because he’d had to go in the washing machine.

Silly Snaggles. He’d come out as good as new.

Thank goodness!

But Cash had disappeared. She tried to remember what he’d said he was doing. Sometimes, in Little headspace it was hard to pay attention. Daddy was always talking. And while she loved him, sometimes a girl just needed a bit of peace and quiet.

“This is the way we slap the goo, slap the goo, slap the goo,” she sang as she smacked her hands down on the bright purple slime. This one was absolutely gonna be a masterpiece. And she had bottles all ready to put it into so she could give it all away to her friends.

She’d been living in Billings for six weeks. She and Cash had found a new place to live that was still close to LittleLand and Bonnie. She’d been so nervous the first time she’d met all of Cash’s friends. They’d gotten invited to a barbeque at Duke and Sunny’s house and there had been a lot of people there.

She’d hardly been able to speak.

But everyone had been so kind and Greer and Livvy had stuck close by her side. No one seemed to care that she didn’t say much.

Since then, she’d seen both Greer and Livvy lots. Been to their houses for dinner and even had them all over here once.

But her favorite person, other than Cash and her sisters, was Bonnie. She and Bonnie had grown really close.

Addie might even call Bonnie her best friend. So the biggest bottle of slimy goo was for her.

“What do you think, Snaggles?” she said as she stared down at the slimy, sticky, glorious slime. “Isn’t it amazing?” She threw her hands up into the air.

So far nothing else had happened since she was taken by those assholes. Nothing about The Team had surfaced. Cash hadn’t let her out of his sight for the first two weeks after she was kidnapped. And both Dotty and Monroe had wanted to come check on her.

But she’d managed to reassure everyone that she was all right.

Everything had been kind of peaceful. She’d actually settled in really well. Sure, she missed her sisters but they called each other a lot.
