He bent over the box and stabbed the fork into the first cupcake, careful to get just the right amount of frosting with the piece of cake. “Open for me, Kitten.”

She treated him to another of her tinkling giggles as her lips parted.

His heart nearly stopped at the vision she made. His Little girl, wearing nothing but his T-shirt. Her bare bottom on the blanket. Her hair in disarray from their lovemaking. She was leaning forward, trusting him to feed her.

Her parted lips were enough to stop his heart. He eased the bite into her mouth.

She chewed and licked her lips. “German chocolate,” she declared.

“Oh, you’re good. Did you cheat?”

She shook her head as her cheeks pinkened. “No, Daddy.”

“Okay, Little girl. Let’s see how good you are at this game.” Hell, he didn’t even know what flavors all of the cupcakes were. Some were mysteries even to him. He should have asked Ellie to make him a cheat sheet.

Nothing thwarted Lark, though. She had an advantage of course. Ellie was her best friend. She’d probably eaten all the flavors at one time or another.

“Red velvet,” she announced after devouring the next bite.

The blindfold had been an afterthought, but Wyatt wasn’t sorry he’d thought of it. Feeding his kitten was so pleasurable. He couldn’t stop grinning as he continued to slide the fork between her lips time and again, tempting her with nine more flavors before finally reaching for the blue one.

She bounced up and down. “That was eleven. The last one is blue raspberry.”

“Is that what this one is called?” he teased. “Are you sure?”

“Positive.” She whipped off the blindfold before he managed to reach back into the box, surprising him when she crawled toward him and climbed onto his lap. Straddling him and snuggling closer, her pussy rubbed against his hard cock.

She cupped his face.

He wasn’t breathing. He’d never been this happy in his life. And he was pretty sure he had the silliest grin on his face as he dropped the fork and palmed her bottom.

“Thank you, Daddy,” she said. “This has been the best day ever. You’re the best Daddy ever. I love the cupcakes. I love that you blindfolded me and fed me.” She bit her lip and continued. “I loved the sex part, too.”

He smiled as he squeezed her fantastic bottom. “You’re welcome, kitten. I hope you’ll let me make you this happy every day.”

She tipped her head to one side, a twinkle in her eyes. “You can try.”

Challenge accepted.

Chapter Eleven

Lark woke up the next morning curved against Wyatt’s hard body. His shoulder had served as her pillow all night when they’d discovered he hadn’t planned quite that well for their first night in the new house. She pressed a kiss on his chest, unable to resist showing her affection.

“Hi, kitten. Ready for a new day? A bunch of friends are meeting me at my rental place this morning to help me move. I’d love for you to help me arrange the furniture if you’re not busy.”

“I have a few showings today. Thank goodness, not the couple who has seen the inside of every available house in the larger metropolitan area—twice!”

“Yikes. Do you think a perfect house exists out there for them?”

“I’ll help them find one that, if not walk-in ready, has the bones to become their dream house.”

“I’ve got a few things around here to work on as well this afternoon. A trip to the local home repair shop is on my list. I’ll start with the plumbing,” Wyatt shared.

“Probably a good thing. Wood rot is not your friend,” she warned with mock severity, shaking her finger at him.

“What time’s your first appointment?”

“Nine.”

“You’ve got an hour, kitten.”

“What?” Lark rolled to the side of the air mattress to retrieve her phone. Her movement almost knocked Wyatt over the edge on his side as the air filling the bed under them ricocheted from side to side.

“Whoa!” he protested.

In a flurry of movements, she jumped from the make-shift bed and ripped his T-shirt off. Scrambling around, Lark tugged on her wrinkled clothing. Finally dressed, she looked at Wyatt. The large man lay sprawled in bed with an arm behind his head, watching the show.

“Don’t you have to be somewhere today?” she pointed out.

“Eventually. Come give me a kiss, kitten,” Wyatt instructed, holding his free arm out to her.

Unable to resist his allure, she bent down to oblige him.

“Mmm,” he hummed as he deepened the kiss.

When she lifted her head, Lark was slightly out of breath and completely unfocused. She stared at him blankly.

“Go home to shower and change. Pack a bag for later. You need to leave some clothes here for future mornings.”

“Right!” Lark jumped to her feet and dashed down the hall. The sight of their picnic and all the leftover cupcakes made her pause in the mad dash home. Wyatt had made that first night in his new home memorable. She squeezed her thighs together, feeling the intimate soreness lingering in the aftermath of their lovemaking. Lark forced herself out of the house.
