She startled when Heath’s voice came from directly behind her. “Did you enjoy the show this morning?”
Combined with his delicious voice, the memory of it caused her pussy to clench. She pinned her thighs tighter together.
“She enjoyed it much more than the party last night,” Dayne answered for her, shooting her another quick, but concerned, glance.
“I missed it.” Heath’s disappointment was clear.
“They’re usually Saturday or Sunday nights. Sometimes both. But believe me, there are plenty of other activities to take part in. Or make your own party. This morning proved only a blanket and some willing participants are needed.”
“Last night’s event was a little overwhelming,” Cara finally admitted.
“Why’s that?”
“This morning was her first ever orgasm not self-achieved.”
“I’m sorry?” Heath asked.
She grimaced. Shit. Dayne’s answer did not help relieve the heat in her cheeks. “It’s true.”
“You came to a resort built around sex to achieve your first orgasm?”
“It wasn’t my—” She shook her head. “That wasn’t why I came.” Not for that specific reason, anyway.
“She’s here to learn.” Again, Dayne was speaking for her. She wasn’t sure whether to be annoyed at his forwardness or be grateful he was answering for her.
“Learn what, exactly?”
Dayne once again answered. “Whether real life is as good as fiction.”
Heath sat back in his seat and she waited for him to ask for an explanation. Surprisingly, he didn’t. Instead, he asked, “How long are you here for, Cara?”
“Until Sunday morning.”
“The same as me.”
“But I’m still not sure if this place is for me.”
Dayne glanced in the rearview mirror. Most likely to look at Heath, who answered, “That gives you a week to figure out if it is.”
“Or for us to prove that it is,” Dayne added.
She gnawed on her bottom lip. “I don’t know…”
Heath asked, “What do you have to lose?”
“My dignity?”
Beside her, Dayne snorted. “No. You won’t lose that at our resort. I know we discussed this already, but you’re already here. And I’ll say it again, you don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with. So, why not enjoy your stay? Here’s the thing, how will you know what you’re willing to try if you leave?”
“I agree with Dayne.”
Of course he did.
Heath continued, “I’m curious about the lack of orgasms. Have you ever had a long-term partner?”
She nodded. “We were together for three years.”
Dayne pulled the UTV up to the Mane Event Hall and shut off the engine. He turned toward her. “What happened?”
“You nailed it last night. This place is proof my sex life has been boring. Disappointing, really.”
“This is the perfect place to change that,” Dayne said as both men climbed out.
Heath came up to her and offered his hand to assist her in exiting the vehicle. “My sex life has been boring, too, lately. That’s why I’m here. It’s not because of my partners, but the lack of them,” he explained.
He had a lack of partners? Impossible.
He was sinfully handsome and what she saw of his body earlier—which was everything—proved he stayed in good shape. If she had to guess, he was in his mid-forties. His clothes, now that he was wearing some, appeared to be quality. She had no idea what he did for a living but could guess that he was well-established and probably didn’t have to scrimp and save to afford this week like she had.
Unless he had a questionable personality, he had to be a catch.
Once she had both feet on the ground, he said, “I’ve been a bit swamped lately with work, so I haven’t had time to deal with dates or even hookups. I figured a vacation wouldn’t hurt. So, here I am.”
“How did you find out about the resort?” Dayne asked him as he hooked an arm through Cara’s and began to guide her toward the event hall’s front entrance.
“Believe it or not, I was searching online to find a place that would meet my requirements to unwind and this resort popped up as an ad.”
“Well, it’s good to know our advertising dollars are hard at work.” Keeping his arm linked with Cara’s, Dayne pulled out a ring of keys and unlocked the hall’s door. He stepped inside, unlocked a clear plastic box over the light switches, and with a flick of his wrist, the room lit up.
“Damn,” Heath murmured, taking it all in.
It definitely looked different this afternoon compared to last night. No loud music, crazy lights, and even crazier costumes. It seemed super tame.
Dayne pointed out the stage, where the DJ had been set up last night, and the bar area, before directing them to the back of the hall. Where Cara had made her escape.
“You could do a lot with this space,” Heath commented.
“That’s the point. Weddings. Parties. Whatever. Even funerals, if someone wanted that.” He grinned.
He led them out the back after shutting off the lights and locking up, then took them to the exterior stairway at the rear of the building; the one with the sign pointing up toward Heaven.
