Tor grabs a fistful of my hair, and the sureness of his grip sends tingles down my spine. He uses it to lift my head, drawing me up as he plants his cock deep inside me. “Tell me what you told me earlier,” he demands.

“What?” I gasp, breathless.

“You love me. Tell me you love me.”

My heart contracts, but I don’t hesitate. “I love you, Tor.”

“Say it again,” he says, his grip tightening. “Keep fucking saying it.”

“I love you,” I say, the breath rushing out of me. He shoves my face against the mattress, his cock slamming so deep in my pussy, I feel vibrations from the impact. “I love you,” I say, but my words are muffled, my breath hitched. “I love you, Tor.” My voice breaks, the building tension making my tone too high. But still, I try. “I love you.” It bursts out of me, desperate, needy, breathless, as I balance on the precipice of pleasure. “I fucking love you so much.”

He shoves into me so hard, I move across the bed, then he does it again and again. I grab the edge of the mattress so I don’t fall off, but the violence of his need doesn’t scare me at this moment like maybe it should.

When I can’t hold on any longer, I fly over the edge, and pleasure pours through me, weakening my body again, but making my heart and soul feel free. There’s no better feeling than this, and as he fucks me through it, I feel the loveliest, softest things.

Finally, he drives deep with a strained groan, and I clench my pussy around him, trying to give him a little more of the pleasure he gives me. I feel like I’m in pieces, but I don’t mind. He pumps into me one more time, then lets out a long breath and his grip on me eases. His touch is tender again, and he pulls his cock out of me, dropping down next to me on the bed.

I turn, smiling softly, and reaching for him like I always do. I caress his face lovingly, then my hand finds his, and our fingers lock together.

He holds me close like he always does. Like it’s impossible to pull me close enough.

Nuzzled against his chest, I hear his heart pounding, and it’s not the first time I’ve heard it doing that after he’s fucked me.

But it’s the first time I knew without a doubt that it belonged to me.

I love you, Cassie.

My eyes drift closed, a smile helplessly tugging at my lips, and for just this moment, everything in my life feels just right.

CHAPTER 33

CASSIE

Morning comes too quickly.

While I shower, Tor runs down the street to get us some Krispy Kreme. We’ll eat on the plane, but I was craving something sweet, so we’re having doughnuts before we leave.

He was right about bringing both suitcases. With what he had waiting for us in the garment bags and all the stuff I bought yesterday, we fill them right up. I have my pretty new Dior purse hanging from my shoulder. I keep it with me when we go downstairs, and Tor rolls our suitcases to the back of the Town Car.

I can’t resist snapping one more picture of Times Square while I wait. I decide to share this one on social media even though I didn’t share any of the ones I took yesterday.

Tor comes up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist as I’m typing the caption and glancing at my phone screen. “Ready to go?”

“Yep,” I say, adding an apple emoji to my post before I tap Share. “All done.”

The flight home is another short one, but we’re in the first class cabin again, so we do get to eat. It’s a little later, so we don’t get breakfast. Instead, we order the kale and quinoa salad with grilled chicken. I don’t expect it to be very good, but it’s actually delicious and quite refreshing.

I’m not eager to return to Holbrook, but I am happy to get back to my apartment. Over the past year, home hasn’t been a sanctuary where I could hole up and be safe and insulated from the world. At times—and often unpredictably—home was just another battlefield. Having my own place to go home to now, somewhere that’s peaceful and stable like I need it to be, makes living here a little easier.

Tor stays over Sunday night, but I’m closing Monday, and he has dinner with his parents, so we don’t see each other all day. I take Shaley the frog-face thing I got her at the Line store, and as I thought she would, she absolutely loves it.

Tuesday comes and goes, and I close again on Wednesday.

Tor comes over. We shower together, then curl up and watch a movie on the couch. The movie loses my interest about halfway through, but that’s the fault of his wandering hands.
