His hand fondly patted her diapered bottom. “I like having you here, too. Are you awake enough to work on the rules we need to guide us?”

“Rules? Like what I’ll get spanked for?” she asked, leaning slightly away to study his face.

“There are other consequences you might earn other than spankings.”

“Like what?” she asked, fascinated by the thought of her stern Daddy’s plans.

“Standing in the corner, losing playtime, writing sentences. Your misbehavior will tell me what you need to make better choices. These rules will include what you need to feel safe here,” he added.

“Daddies have rules?”

“Good Daddies always have rules. Let’s go work at the counter. I have some paper set up there.”

“Okay,” she agreed, eager to see what he had in mind.

“Oh!” Ellie gasped as her Daddy slid her down the length of his body until her feet touched the soft carpet. There was no doubt that taking care of her so intimately had turned Garrett on. The proof of his attraction tented his pants. Ellie tried not to stare but she knew what the fabric covered.

“Eyes on mine, Little girl,” Garrett ordered in a husky voice.

Ellie jerked her head back to meet his gaze as her face heated with embarrassment. “Sorry,” she whispered.

“Never be sorry that we’re attracted to each other. I’m not.”

Garrett took her hand and led her to the kitchen. He walked slowly as Ellie waddled uncertainly due to the thick padding between her thighs. She looked up at him repeatedly to make sure he wasn’t laughing at her. Each time, he squeezed her hand in encouragement.

When they reached the kitchen, he helped boost her up on to the stool before sitting next to her. Ellie squirmed a bit on the padding. It wasn’t uncomfortable—maybe her spanked bottom didn’t ache as bad when she sat on her diaper?

“Here are the things I’m going to require you do.” Garrett put a piece of paper in front of her. He paused as she read.

Daddy’s Rules for Ellie

Always tell Daddy the truth.

Eat and drink healthy things every day.

Go to bed at _________ and wake up at _________.

Spend time with Daddy every day.

Practice safety at work and home.

“There aren’t any times here?” she pointed out.

“What time do you need to be at Little Cakes to be ready to open?” Garrett probed.

“I’ll need to be there super early—especially in the beginning until I have a routine. Maybe four am?”

“That is early. I didn’t fill in times because we need to work backward from the time you need to wake up to make sure you sleep eight hours each night. It takes fifteen minutes to get to the store from here. How long does it take from your apartment?”

“Five.”

“How long do you need to get ready?”

“Five minutes to get dressed and wash my face.”

“And eat.”

“That takes too long. I’ll eat midmorning after the rush dies out.”

“No. You’ll eat in the morning to give you energy for the day.”

Ellie stared at him. There was no wiggle room at all in his words. “I don’t like to eat in the morning.” She recalled he had warned her this morning he would expect her to eat breakfast.

“Then you’ll have a smoothie with some fruit and yogurt.”

“That doesn’t sound too bad,” she relented. “I don’t like melons.”

“A smoothie without melons, check. You can drink that on your way if you or I make it the night before. So, you’ll need to wake up at three-forty at home or three-thirty here.” Garrett filled in the earlier time on the rule sheet.

“To get eight hours of sleep, you’ll need to be tucked in bed by seven-thirty,” he pointed out and completed the sheet.

“I can’t go to bed at that time. It won’t even be dark!” she pointed out indignantly.

“I’ll buy some blackout curtains for the nursery,” he answered.

“No one goes to bed at seven-thirty!” she insisted.

“A Little girl who wakes up at three in the morning does.”

“What happens if I don’t?”

“I’ll spank your bottom and put you in bed,” Garrett warned with a steely look.

Ellie watched him fill in the early bedtime. I’ll never be able to do that. She knew herself too well. “I don’t really need eight hours of sleep. I’m good on five.”

“That’s not going to happen as long as I’m in your life, Little girl.”

Staring at him, Ellie shrugged. “You can lock me in the crib, but you can’t make me go to sleep.”

“Challenge accepted, Rainbow.”

Chapter Eight

Unlocking the front door, Ellie let herself into Little Cakes. After a stop at her apartment to jump into fresh clothes, Garrett dropped her off half an hour before her first interview. She looked around at the café-style chairs and tables scattered strategically around the dining room. It looked inviting in the charming space.

“People are going to love it here!” she announced aloud.

“They really are!” a familiar voice responded from behind her.
