I gasp, but I find myself nodding.

A second later, Elijah’s lips are on mine, soft and gentle at first before he tips his head to one side, licks the seam of my lips, and silently asks me to open for him.

I do because I’ve never wanted anything so badly in my life. I want him. All of him. My body is melting into the mattress. I’m on fire, mostly because I love how he’s holding me down while he devours me.

He tastes of cinnamon from gum probably. He dances his tongue along mine until I moan. When he finally releases my lips, he kisses a path down my neck and chest until his mouth is on my nipple, reverently at first, and then sucking.

I arch and cry out. He’s made me feel more from a few kisses than I’ve ever felt before. More alive. More aroused. More loved.

When that nipple is swollen and stiff, he switches to the other one, treating it the same way, sucking, flicking, licking, teasing.

My eyes roll back. I can’t breathe.

Suddenly, he releases my wrists and uses both hands to spread my legs, holding my inner thighs as wide as possible. And then, my God. His mouth is on me there. He’s worshipping me. More kissing, licking, and oh God, sucking.

He thrusts his tongue into my tight channel.

I squirm and writhe, but he holds me steady, forcing me to take what he’s offering. It’s not a hardship. It’s like heaven. Stars are twinkling in the room. This is nothing like how I felt when I touched myself the other night. This is new. Different. Far more intense.

I gasp again when he parts my folds with his thumbs and lavishes all his attention on my clit. I’m at that precipice again. That delicious spot where the world stands still before I crash over the other side and freefall.

I cry out as my orgasm consumes me, pulsing against his lips while he holds me down.

He slowly eases back, still kissing my swollen sensitive skin, moaning against me at the same time. This is when I realize my hands are on his shoulders. I’m gripping him. Holding him to me.

I release him and jerk my hands back as he lifts his head. He’s smiling like he won the lottery as he wipes his lips on the edge of the sheet. “I’m so fucking lucky.”

I lick my lips. “You? I think it’s me who’s lucky.” I glance down his body. He’s fully dressed. I’m naked. “Are you going to make love to me now?”

“No. Not now. I’m going to whisk you away to the most amazing place on earth and convince you to stay forever. I’m going to treat you like a princess and take care of your every need until you know in your heart you’re mine.”

My breath hitches. He talks of forever, and it makes me nervous. “I can’t make that kind of commitment, Elijah. I have to come back here and work. Please tell me you understand that.”

“I do, Little bunny. I understand.” He releases my thighs to come over me more fully, hands planted at either side of my head, eyes on mine. It’s like he’s searching for something. I’m worried it’s not there.

He doesn’t look concerned though. He looks content. Happy. Pleased.

I feel the same emotions with a dose of nerves tossed in. “I can’t stay on the island,” I repeat.

He picks up one of my hands and kisses my fingers. “One day at a time, Petra. Will you give me that?”

“Yes, Sir.” I can give him that. “I just don’t want you to think I’m going to stay. It’s not feasible.”

“Okay.”

He’s humoring me. I shove back a few inches and rise onto my elbows. “Elijah, I can’t stay,” I insist yet again. “I don’t want you thinking you can convince me.”

“The only thing I intend to convince you of is that you’re mine. The rest will sort itself out.”

I shake my head. “Not if you think I’m going to cave.”

“I don’t need you to cave, Little one. I just need you to be mine. If I have to move back to the mainland to be with you, I will. In a heartbeat.”

I gasp. “Are you serious?”

“Of course.” He frowns.

“But you hardly know me.”

“That’s not true. I know a lot about you. Besides, I knew how I felt about you from the first time I tucked my arms under you and lifted you off the concrete outside The Dungeon. There was a spark. Tell me you didn’t feel it.”

I bite my lip. I did feel it. I don’t need to tell him.

He guides me onto my back again and kisses my belly. “I know in my heart you’re my Little girl. The rest will work itself out. I promise.”

For some reason, his words comfort me. He probably hopes he can convince me to stay on the island and quit my job, but he made it clear it’s not a dealbreaker. That’s important.
