One day, he wanted to be filling her pussy.
****
“Do you think it’s possible to win her back?” Bolt asked, walking into the kitchen of his parents’ home.
Maverick was at the kitchen counter, pouring hot chocolate into mugs. This was a drink his mother always loved, and it wasn’t the first time he’d watched his dad make it. Over the years, he and Morwenna had won his father’s heart, so he would always make them a mug.
When they were younger, before it even occurred to them to be boyfriend and girlfriend, they would have sleepovers. They spent so much time together. Once their parents realized they were developing and the risk of that turning into boyfriend and girlfriend, those sleepovers stopped.
“Son, it’s nearly been two years now, or close to it, and you’re still fighting this. Why?”
“I love her, Dad.”
“You love her?”
“She’s my soulmate. How can you just walk away from that?” Bolt asked.
He looked at his dad, but his father didn’t look entertained. He looked pissed off. “Your mother is my soulmate. She’s my reason for getting up every morning and why I fight every single day to make this town a better place for her. I want her to have a good life. From the moment she told me she’d be my wife, I’ve fought every day to be the man she needs and wants. I have never strayed. I’ve never stuck my dick in another woman, because none of them have appealed. Trust me, plenty of women have tried to throw themselves my way, but I don’t stray. I’m a one-woman man.”
“Dad, come on, you’ve got to be kidding me.”
“I swear to you on my wife and my club, from the moment I saw Storm, she’s been it for me. I don’t want, nor do I need, another woman.”
Bolt hated this. He figured his father might have strayed once. His parents had been together at least twenty-five years. It wasn’t like he went out of his way to stray from Morwenna. It just happened. He hoped his father would have understood him.
“I was faithful to Morwenna for twenty years. Why doesn’t that mean anything to anyone?”
“Okay, son, clearly, you’re looking for some kind of excuse or justification, but you’re not going to get it from me. You’re not going to get it from anyone. You were faithful for four years, because you were married from sixteen. It doesn’t matter if you were faithful for one year, or a hundred years before you cheated.”
“I never meant to hurt her, Dad. I want her back.”
Maverick ran a hand down his face. “It’s like talking to a brick fucking wall. Okay, fine, you think Morwenna should give you a chance, right? That’s what you’re saying to me.”
“Yeah. We’ve been best friends for life, and I’ve always been there for her.”
His father placed his hands together. “Do me a favor and close your eyes.”
Bolt didn’t want to do it, he just wanted a straight answer on how to win Morwenna back. This was too much, and it was starting to piss him off, but he closed his eyes.
“The last five years, the moment you looked at Star, that is all gone. That didn’t happen. You don’t have three kids with another woman. You’ve been happily married.”
Bolt liked this. This was easy.
“And you walk into your home, where your loving wife always is, only this time, you step into the kitchen, and there Morwenna has a club member, perhaps even Venom, fucking her right now. It was a mistake. Just one time, what do you do?”
Bolt’s hands were clenched into fists, and he opened his eyes.
“Do you forgive her?” Maverick asked. “Or, do you tell her she’s a lying, cheating slut and move on?”
He didn’t like this.
“I’ve got to go.”
“You can’t handle it, can you, son? You want her to forgive you, yet if the roles were reversed, it wouldn’t even be the first thing you’d give her.”
Chapter Eleven
Morwenna giggled as she tried to arrange the cupcakes on the stand, so she’d be able to take the pictures, but Venom was making it difficult.
It probably didn’t help that he’d somehow convinced her to bake in only an apron. At first, it had been fun, a little strange baking naked, but Venom soon took advantage. Every time he touched her, it was like she was set on fire.
She wanted to get a blog post up, as she always liked to do one that helped give ideas on how to use up the Halloween candy.
After having sex with Venom, this blog post had come a little too late, but she was getting the last of the pictures together. It also didn’t help each time he touched her, he kept making her ache. She’d never felt like this before. He made her heart race, and she loved to watch him when he slept. She felt a little crazy because who liked watching their partner sleep? But she did. Venom held her, even when he slept, and he always seemed so attuned to her.
