Everything happens so fast that it doesn’t even register, but I can’t close my eyes.

Because Beast has finally been unchained.

He grabs the chair and turns the seat up, using it and his body as a shield to protect me from the bullets. His roars go through marrow and bone as bullets enter his thigh and arms, but his strength doesn’t wane one bit.

When the gunfire momentarily stops, he throws the chair into the guards and unleashes his wrath.

He runs at them at full speed like a bull, ramming into one of them, only to pick him up and throw him into another guard like a bowling ball into a pin. He spins on his heels, grabs a guard’s wrist with a gun pointed at his head, and twists the man’s hand until it breaks.

The guard cries out in pain, but Beast turns the gun until it’s aimed at the guard’s face.

BANG!

Another one drops onto the floor.

BANG, BANG!

Shots follow Beast around as he runs from side to side, knocking everyone down with ease. Shrieks are audible all around as I duck and hide near the ground while he goes on a streak.

One guard is grabbed by the collar and put right into the aim of an incoming bullet, ravaging his heart. Beast chucks aside his body and storms at the guy who shot, ripping his legs from underneath his body, cracking them in two places until he screams and begs for mercy.

“No, no, please, stop!”

Beast ignores every single one of his pleas and stomps on his face until it cracks his skull.

Another one runs at him with a big butcher knife. Beast stands up, his eyes almost unrecognizable, filled with fire and a hunger for blood.

A hunger he’s about to satiate.

Another guard attacks him, but instead of hitting him, Beast grabs him, pulls him close, and takes an actual bite out of his neck. Blood sprays everywhere as he casts aside a chunk of flesh, and the guard stumbles away, shrieking his lungs out as he clutches his neck.

“You’ll pay for that!” Raymond growls at him as he dodges a bullet.

But the moment Raymond runs at Beast, he simply rams him into the ground, grabs his legs, and splits them open like a rip at the seam until they’re dislodged. Raymond cries out in pain, but the sounds end as quickly as they came when Beast buries his knife in his throat and slices him open from left to right.

More guards run at him, but they’re no match for him.

The collar around his neck kept him on a leash and made it easy to control him.

But now that it’s off, all the pain and suffering are coming full circle.

And vengeance becomes him.

His roars are like fuel to his might as he chucks one of his knives at a guard’s throat, making blood squirt out. A kick to the stomach has another one of the guards barfing, and Beast simply rips out his tongue and pulls out his eyes like it comes effortlessly.

And I’m completely blown away by the sheer display of power.

Like a walking, living god, he wreaks havoc on anyone and everyone who gets in his way.

Bullets graze and hit him, but it’s like he doesn’t even care. Like his body is made of pure fury and ruin as he fights his way through each and every one of the guards until only a few are left.

“BEAST!” Lex roars with rage.

Avoiding the gunfire by crawling across the floor, Lex reaches the gun Beast knocked from his hand and points it right at him.

And I don’t know what comes over me, but I rush to him and shove his hand to the side right before he pulls the trigger.

BANG!

The bullet grazes my cheek, the pain instant, sizzling.

I fall away from him, and as he comes to a stand, he points the gun right at my face.

“NO!” The visceral pain in Beast’s voice as it blasts across the warehouse instantly draws my attention. He punches one of the guards in the jaw so hard it dislocates, and he rushes toward me.

Lex’s eyes widen as he spots him, and he immediately withdraws and screams at his guards, “Shoot him! NOW!”

BANG!

The bullet hits his back right as he stops in front of me, and his body caves to the multiple wounds. On hands and knees, he comes to me.

“He hurt you,” he murmurs with blood on his lips. He reaches for the wound on my face, but he collapses before he manages to touch me. Tears well up in my eyes.

“Beast,” I mutter, crawling closer to grab his shoulders. “Please, I don’t want you to die.”

But I can’t help him get up. I’m a bug compared to him. How could I possibly help?

His bloodied hand fumbles near his pocket, but he still manages to fish out something.
