“Yes, he did teach me to be a better person. Trust me, I’ve apologized to Indigo and Hawk for my poor decisions. Love sometimes leads to making poor decisions,” Clay said, trying to defend himself to the angry, formidable man…who was going to be his host for the next several months…at least. “I’ve apologized to Indigo and the entire team, Hawk included. I apologize to you, as well. I simply couldn’t let another man touch him. I didn’t recognize it as love at first but, trust me, I know now.”

The man stepped back, studied Clay for a few minutes, and then his eyes drifted to Indigo. Whatever he saw there must have appeased the man’s ire. A smile spread across his face, and he reached out a hand toward Clay. “Nice to finally meet you. I’ve heard all bad things about you from Hawk. He was really disappointed. From the look on your man’s face, everything worked out the way it should have.” After that, he said to the group, “I’m Ambrose McKenzie, your host through this ordeal and Hawk’s beloved, non-biological brother. I’ll ensure your safety. Who witnessed the shooting?”

Hollister stepped forward. He refused to be intimidated by Ambrose…even if he was very intimidating. “That’d be me. Saw the entire thing.” He motioned for his brothers to come forward. “These are my brothers, and they go where I go.” Pointing toward Indigo, he said, “He was with me during the shooting.” Motioning toward Clay and Levi, he said, “Those two managed to get themselves kidnapped so we had to save them.”

“That’s not exactly how it went,” Levi interrupted. “We had a plan.”

Ambrose cocked an eyebrow. “I’ve read the report, and I’m going to side with Hollister. Absolutely embarrassing—two grown men being abducted by a Dumb and Dumber gang.” He winked at Levi when he talked, letting him know he understood the situation. “Now, let’s all go inside and allow you to claim your living spaces. Plenty of room for everyone. Hawk and his new man, Atlas, have already picked the entire upper floor. Other than my space, everything’s available.” He turned to walk away, motioning them to follow, stopped, and said, “My men will carry in your luggage. Most important rule…nobody, absolutely nobody, is mean to my cats. Understood?” Ambrose didn’t wait for their answer—he knew they’d obey his every command. He carried himself with a powerful attitude.

CHAPTER SEVEN

On the rooftop of the castle, Hawk and Atlas looked down at the caravan that had just arrived. Holding hands, Hawk said, “It’s good to see Indigo again. When he disappeared, we were all worried sick. I should have never doubted that he knew it was Clay the entire time. Those two were drawn together like magnets from the very beginning.”

Atlas chuckled. “You mean at the very beginning when Clay was straight?”

“Yup. Mind you I didn’t visit the complex that often, but every time I did, Clay’s eyes were locked on Indigo’s ass.” Hawk dropped his head and pinched the bridge of his nose. “I still can’t believe what happened to Indigo, losing his eyesight in the accident. It was devastating—to him and all of us. When it first happened and I saw him, I had hoped for a miracle. Those rarely happen and it didn’t for Indi.”

“Wait. Were you there when the accident occurred?” Atlas asked.

“Yes. It was supposed to be a small job. It actually was…up until we were leaving the area. We had rescued the two teenagers we’d gone in for and was on our way out. We’d scouted the area for any kind of explosives before going in. I don’t know how the fuck we missed it.”

“I’m sorry, babe. I didn’t know you’d seen it happen. He looks happy now, though, doesn’t he?” Atlas asked.

“That he does, and I dare say all of us will keep Clay in line to make sure Indi stays happy and satisfied.”

Atlas grabbed a handful of Hawk’s ass, and said, “Speaking of being satisfied…”

“Say no more, my love. We’ll spend our time in bed while everybody else explores the castle.”

As Atlas started to walk toward the rooftop exit, Hawk grabbed him by the arm and hauled him back. “When are you going to let me make an honest man out of you? You know I’m dying for me to have your name or you to have mine—whichever makes you happy. I just need the world to know we belong to each other.”

“Soon, my love. Very soon. We’ve got an issue to settle with your friends so we can have a proper ceremony.” Atlas kissed him, soft and long. “I never dreamed I’d have the chance to marry the man I love. Let’s enjoy the fantasy and then make it real when everyone is safe.”

“Damn, I love you,” Hawk whispered against Atlas’ puffy lips.
