Though such a request from a man whose name I didn’t know, who was leering at me so openly, should’ve sicked me out, it didn’t. In fact, it tempted me. But just a little bit.

“In your dreams, buddy,” I returned with a bite to my tone. “Now are you gonna step out of my fucking way, or am I gonna have to make you?”

In response to my threat, he smiled.

Asshole.

The grin was cheeky, cocky and unfortunately sexy.

“Though I’d enjoy seeing you try to make me, I’m gonna have to insist on you telling me who you are.” His tone was still teasing but firm.

I wanted to scream. My threat was really kind of empty, though. I wasn’t armed, and I logically knew that it wouldn’t be a very even fight. Not that this guy would’ve fought me. I knew these men were badasses, but they weren’t the type to get violent with women. Even sassy ones like me. Which was a shame because I was itching for a fight with someone.

“I don’t have to give you my name,” I told him instead.

“You’re in my club. Think you do,” he countered.

My eyes flickered to his cut. “I don’t see a president patch,” I spat back. “So you don’t call the shots around here.”

When he held out his hands to the empty room, I hated the way my eyes homed in on the flex of his biceps. “I’m the only one here, so yes, Poppet, I am calling the shots.”

“Poppet?” I repeated. “What are you, a nineteenth century Englishman?”

“You’re gonna be fun,” he snickered.

“And you’re really getting on my fucking nerves,” I retorted. “So you need to tell me where I can find my friend, right now.”

This man was obviously getting annoyed with me not fawning over his hotness because his smile faltered, and he stepped forward, close, too close, hands on his hips.

“I will ask for the fourth time,” he murmured. “Who are you?”

Okay, now I was fuming. I blew an errant hair from my face before pushing my sunglasses to the top of my head. “I’m Sariah Cardoso. Who the fuck are you?”

The man’s expression stayed blank for a few beats before his cheeky, sexy grin returned. “I’m the man you’ve been waiting for.”

I arched my brow at him, making sure to look him up and down. “Honey, I don’t wait for any man. I don’t even pause for one. I’m here for my girl, who has gotten impregnated by one of you.”

Movement behind him caught my eye. I spied Elden, looking delicious and wary first, then Violet.

“Her!” I yelled, pointing. “That’s who I’m looking for. My bestie who got knocked up by him.”

Target acquired. I gave one more spiteful look to the man who’d pissed me off—and somehow turned me on—before stomping over to my best friend and giving her all my attention.

Well, until my best friend’s stepfather came in and got a little gung-ho with an actual gun and threatened to kill Elden for getting Violet pregnant.

But that story has already been told.

The main thing was, Colby and I started by bickering with an undercurrent of sexual tension, and it carried on like that for a long while... Me fighting my attraction for him and him not even bothering to hide what he felt for me.

Unsurprisingly, it was a complete fucking disaster.

COLBY

It wasn’t love at first sight. I didn’t consider her ‘mine’ the second I laid eyes on her like some of my other brothers had with their Old Ladies.

First, all I saw was her face, tits and ass. In that order.

It wasn’t every day a woman clad in all pink entered the clubhouse like she owned it and faced off with me.

She was fucking stunning. Unlike anyone I’d ever seen. She was wearing ridiculous pink shoes that gave her at least six inches, yet she was still petite. Her tits were glorious, encased in something that was hot pink and showed off the generous curves of her hips.

Though her body was the most impressive thing I’d ever seen, it was her face that captivated me. Her skin was porcelain, her lips making me think about a blowjob the second I laid eyes on them. Glossy, cherry red. Full.

Her eyes blazed with chocolate fire. Her nose was bigger than her delicate features, only making her more interesting.

Then there was the attitude. I’d told all of my brothers that if I ever did settle down, it would be with a quiet woman, to ensure I didn’t go through the bullshit that they went through with theirs.

They’d all laughed themselves silly at that.

Watching that spitfire outdrinking my brothers, laughing, swearing and enchanting every single man—and woman—in the fucking room, I now understood why.

She’d arrived at the club without Violet—which made sense since Violet was pregnant, and Elden was unlikely to let her near a club party—again, walking in like she owned the fucking place. She didn’t show an inch of self-consciousness at walking into a motorcycle club where she didn’t know anyone.
