“Wynn cornering you? Yeah, I know and I’ll deal with him.”

It’s on the tip of my tongue to discourage him, but it’s a waste of breath. I choose to focus on the other.

“I can’t believe Declan’s bodyguard narked on me. And now all the guys know?”

“They’ll keep it quiet.”

“Hardly, y’all are a bunch of yappers.”

He lets out a howl of laughter. “Yappers? Can’t wait to share that one.”

“My point, you share.”

“Baby, the guys are solid. Your secret is safe until you’re ready.”

Well, that’s a little relief. “We should probably see a doctor first.”

“Ten a.m. we see your doctor.”

“How’d you arrange that?”

“I may not have been able to call, but I had hours on the plane to take care of business. Now let’s talk about the wedding. My mom expects to hear from us soon.”

Before I can ask more about his parents, there’s a loud knock, the door cracking open.

“Willow, Talon, we’re back and coming in,” Mom announces loudly.

“We’re in the living room, fully dressed and not having sex on kitchen surfaces!” I scream and Talon tenses.

“What the fuck?”

I burst into giggles. “Let me tell you what happened to me, again…”

TALON

I’m not one to make bad decisions.

It’s a rarity.

But putting a ban on sex until after Willow’s appointment was fucking stupid.

Now, I’m on the edge of sanity… One hundred percent ready to lose my mind.

She flits around our room, talking animatedly to her dad, giving him a detailed review of her doctor’s appointment.

She catches my eye in the mirror, winking.

Two more minutes… I check my watch and start the countdown.

It’s been eighteen hours since I tracked Willow to her dad’s condo.

Sterling wasn’t shocked to see me, opening the door and pointing in her direction. Stacy instantly got nervous, snatching the pregnancy test off the table and rushing away.

She thought she was guarding the secret, but even if I didn’t already know, my eyes clocked the test the second I entered.

Her antics would have been comical if I wasn’t zoned in on one thing.

Getting to Willow.

It took too fucking long to get back to Nashville, but the whole time I planned how to get my ring on her finger.

It wasn’t perfect.

Finding her sleeping wasn’t in my plan.

Watching her every breath did little to calm the possessive bull raging inside.

My woman and my baby were lying there.

Mine.

She mumbled about being an astronaut, floating on clouds, landing on a rock.

Fucking adorable.

Finally having her back in my arms changed the game. My plan went to shit.

I slipped the ring off the chain and on her finger, only to have her mutter about Wolf.

My girl was dreaming hard.

And I was at peace.

When Sterling and Stacy returned, Stacy was a wiry mess. She tried hard to remain normal. Willow finally put her out of her misery and told her I knew.

Stacy transformed into a different person, and the entire night was nothing but a celebration of Willow. Her exam, our engagement, the pregnancy—all about her.

They didn’t blink an eye at my six-week deadline.

We called my parents to share the news about the engagement. I wanted to share everything, but she convinced me to wait until after today.

Willow and Stacy disappeared with the phone to discuss things with my mom, leaving me with Sterling.

I was prepared for a disgruntled lecture, or the surly ass I met in the hospital. But he poured me a glass of bourbon, handed it over, and toasted the rim.

“I’m trusting you.” That said it all.

It was when I learned Willow had no idea how far along she was that I went over the edge. She refused my idea of going to the ER and demanding every test available.

Sterling backed me up, offering to call in a few favors, but Willow threw a fit.

Stacy became the voice of reason, pointing out that getting upset wasn’t good, shutting me up.

I called Willow’s doctor’s office, connecting to the after-hours service, and let them know to send a message we’d be there when they opened the doors this morning.

Then I knew there was no way I could fuck my fiancée until I had answers.

Now I have answers, and Willow’s time is up.

It’s like she’s read my mind when she says, “Yes, it’s perfectly fine to have sex. Talon questioned the doctor thoroughly.”

She presses her lips together, her eyes glittering as I stalk to her.

I take the phone to tell Sterling bye and see the screensaver.

“Dad hung up five minutes ago. Did you really think a man would want every single detail of my appointment? He bailed after knowing we’re all good.”

“You’ve been fucking with me?”

“I prefer to think of it as payback for making both of us suffer.”

“Princess, I ate your pussy until you passed out. Tell me how you suffered?”

“Since I didn’t know I was pregnant, it was easy to avoid the signs. But now that everything is confirmed and okay, I plan to indulge in all the cravings.”
