“You wanna go home with us tonight?” Front asked.

Yes! Say yes! They’re hot, and you’re horny, and there are two of them wanting to devour you!

But damned if Rush didn’t wink at me, then said something to the guy beside him before walking away, and I knew, I fucking knew I was about to make a huge mistake.

Again.

And I’d enjoy the hell out of it.

Fucking Rush.

“I…can’t. Sorry. I should…I should go.” I slipped out from between them, alarm bells going off in my head.

This was the last time. Rush and I deserved that, didn’t we? One more time to rock each other’s worlds before we stopped…well, fucking like rabbits. The nights we spent together increased in frequency lately. We’d met up numerous times over the past few months just to have sex, or we’d meet for a meal or go for a jog or something like that…and then have sex. It helped that he’d been gone for motocross, but now he’d be home until January, and I needed to put a stop to this before I fucked up our friendship, because I was pretty sure we were truly that—friends. If I allowed myself to admit it, I’d realize I had more of them than my stupid brain let me see.

But again, we deserved one more night, didn’t we?

We both made our way to our crew by the bar. When we got there, Beau put an arm around me and kissed my forehead.

“Ew. You’re sweaty,” I teased.

“You going home with those guys? Text me the address.”

“Um…no. I’m a big boy. I can take care of myself.” But really it was one of the things I loved about Beau. He had the biggest heart of anyone I knew. I didn’t know how I’d survive without him, and I didn’t plan to ever lose him. “I could always go home with you and Ash, if you’d rather?” I said playfully.

When Ash had first come back to Fever Falls, I’d been flirty with him. He’d thought he was straight, but…well, let’s just say he hadn’t fooled me. In reality, I’d never touch him. He was just a friend, and I knew how much Beau loved him, but it had become a joke between the three of us, one Ash partook in too.

Unsurprisingly, Beau rolled his eyes at me, and Ash said, “Can you really blame him, Campbell? I’d want me too.” He often called Beau by his last name, something I didn’t get, but whatever; it was just a weird jock thing he did.

“Sigh. You’re always pretending this want only comes from me. Beau and I are besties. We share everything. We’re sort of a package deal, which I’m sure you knew when you got with him. It’s okay that you want me too,” I joked.

“I did hear you’re pretty flexible,” Ash countered.

Cam joined the conversation. “The three of you should just have sex and get it over with.”

“See? Cam gets it!” I replied, and we all laughed. When I looked up, Rush was leaning against the bar, watching us.

“We’re gonna head out. Be good.” Beau kissed my forehead again, and I said a silent prayer to Gay Jesus that he and Ash were leaving. Beau always gave me shit for hooking up with Rush. They were probably going home to make love and all that other shit that gave me hives. Sawyer pushed from his barstool next. “I’m out of here too. I have to open the store tomorrow. You wanna stay at my place?”

“Nah, I’m good. I didn’t drink.” Sawyer lived close to Fever Street, the gayest street in the gayborhood where we hung out. I was in Fever Falls proper as well, but not as close to Fever Street as he was, so sometimes I was lazy and stayed with him.

He said his goodbyes, and then it was just me, Rush, and Camden, who was too into the bartender again to care much about anything else. He glanced over his shoulder and winked. “The coast is clear. You guys can sneak out together, and we’ll all pretend we don’t know you’re fucking…though I haven’t figured out why it matters that you’re fucking.”

“Thanks,” I replied, just as Rush said, “Ask Linc why it matters,” making me frown.

“It doesn’t matter,” I told him. And it didn’t. Having sex with Rush was just like with anyone else I’d slept with…only I’d done it a lot more with him than with any other guy. I had a two-times rule, damn it, and it had always worked before Rush. “I just don’t want to hear Beau give me shit.”

“Why does Beau give you shit?” Rush asked.

Because he’s worried about you…thinks you like me. But I knew Rush didn’t like me as much as he liked my ass. We just pushed all the right buttons when we were together. It was purely sexual. “Never mind. I’m horny. Let’s go.”
