My cheeks flame.

“Yes, definitely,” I say in a rushed voice. “My ex was a loser, and you can bet after this last incident, we are nothing to one another. He broke up with me on the way out, but honestly, I’d been thinking about ending things for a while.”

Kurt’s brows raise.

“Yeah, but why did you come here for a romantic weekend then? Or was it some kind of sex-fueled goodbye orgy?”

Oh shit, this man is smart and I shake my head quickly again.

“No, it was just a long weekend where I was going to try and assess what was left of our relationship, but as you can guess, Vinnie was an ass and our time together absolutely sucked in every way possible. So anyways, out of nowhere, he handcuffed me and started pulling toys out of his bag! I told him to stop because I wasn’t enjoying it, but Vinnie’s too immature. He just got mad and ditched me,” I explain in one breath.

Kurt shakes his head, rolling his eyes. “Well, this Vinnie fucker sounds like a real asshole if you ask me. I mean, who doesn’t stop when a girl says she’s not interested? What a loser.”

I nod, grateful for his understanding.

“Yeah, I realize that now. It was a total asshole maneuver, and honestly, the kind of thing I feel like I should report to the cops. But Vinnie and I work together, along with Addy,” I add quickly. “Vinnie’s the optometrist at Four Eyes, so he’s not exactly our manager, but he’s definitely in a more senior position.”

Kurt looks skeptical.

“Man, remind me not to go to Four Eyes for my next eye exam then. Someone with his character is just not going to do a good job.” I nod, and then Kurt chuckles, a grin on his face. “But look on the bright side. At least all this it led me to you.”

My heart skips a beat for what seems like the fiftieth time today and there are probably stars in my eyes. I know any response would be horrifically sappy, so I merely lean across the table to press a kiss to Kurt’s lips. It starts out gentle, sweet, and innocent, but soon the kiss takes on a life of its own and I literally crawl onto the table, my hands scrabbling at his mouse apron.

“OMG, I can’t believe you’re wearing this,” I giggle breathlessly as the strings finally come undone from around his bronzed neck. Kurt’s blue eyes flare.

“I can’t believe I’ve had it on this entire time while I’ve been dying to fuck you,” he mutters into my mouth. His huge cock is revealed in all its glory, springing up from his thighs to lie against his abs, and I whine with need at the sight. “Come and sit on it,” he invites throatily. “Right here, baby girl.”

Soon, I’m straddling the big man, and we’re off to the races once more. But I don’t regret it one bit because the clock hasn’t struck midnight yet, and Kurt Crenshaw happens to be the perfect Prince Charming.

A grunt escapes my lips as I swing an axe down, slamming into the log on the stand. It splits with a satisfying crack and I grin before wiping the sweat from my brow. Fuck. It’s around 6 p.m. and the sun’s going down, but it’s still humid out and sweat drips in a hot rivulet down my back. But I know my work is almost done. I just need to chop a few more pieces, and then I can head inside, grab a quick shower, and get back to spending time with my sweet, innocent lover.

It’s so crazy because it’s been an idyllic weekend with the young woman. You’d think we have nothing in common, being more than two decades apart in age, but it’s not like that at all. Addy and I have tons to talk about, including the latest books, magazines, and TV shows.

“What?” I pretended mock surprise. “You still read books? I thought all young folks were hooked on podcasts these days, or at the very least, audio books.”

Janelle laughed that full-throated hearty laugh I’ve come to adore.

“No, I still read,” she said in a teasing voice. “Although I admit that I read a lot of romance. That’s the great thing about my Kindle: I can load a bodice ripper onto my device and no one has to know because they can’t see the cover. That way, I’m gorging on Fabio while people probably think I’m reading the Bible.”

I let out a roar of laughter at that.

“The Bible? I don’t think so, honey. You’re too gorgeous to be mistaken as a nun.” The sweet smile she shot me set us off into another passionate embrace, and soon, we were going at it again. I’m surprised Janelle can even walk at this point because I’ve taken her so many ways, and in so many positions.
