No way. There was no way in hell I had just slept with Daniel. I slept with someone, of course. My body was sore but oddly relaxed. Sex euphoria for sure.

I got on an elbow and leaned over the body. Before I could see his face, he let out a snort, and I had to quickly cover my mouth before my laughter caught wind. Again, leaning over him, I carefully peeked at his face. Daniel. I was toast. What had I done? It was so unlike me to be this promiscuous. I hadn’t even slept with a man in the past few months. I was out of my skin.

Daniel wrestled at my side for a moment, and I froze in place. I held my breath until he settled, then I tried to fold back the blankets and get up without catching his attention. That man slept so soundly; I was a little proud of myself. Apparently, I’d taken good care of him.

I got to my feet and tiptoed across the room to my things. I quickly grabbed a t-shirt and a pair of cut-off shorts, then I slipped into the bathroom to change. After I brushed my teeth and fluffed my hair, I went out to get my phone. Daniel let out another snort, and I nearly lost it. For a tough man like him, snoring was far too hilarious.

I gave another look before heading out. The sheet was still tied to the headboard over Daniel. Just thinking about last night gave me the chills. It was so dangerously delicious. So wild. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it. Hell, I was still craving it. Daniel was so commanding and in control. Mid-thought, my phone let out a soft beep, and I jetted for the door.

I hurried down the hall as I checked over my messages. It was Jourdanne asking how things were going. I sent a quick thumbs up, then let out a big breath. Sheesh, how ridiculous was I? My brother? No matter how good—and I mean very good—in bed he was, I couldn’t be doing things like that anymore. First Damien, now Daniel. If my mother found out, I’d be kicked off the island. For real.

The brunch area was overflowing with yummy treats. As soon as I rounded the wall to find the food, my eyes found the sun. I was so happy it wasn’t raining, and I could only imagine all the awesome things Hawaii had to offer. I wanted to get out and stretch my legs and get away from everyone.

“Morning,” Dax greeted me. His soft voice cut through the chatters of guests and found me doe eyed.

“Dax? You’re up early.”

His body jostled with a bit of laughter. “Early? It’s after nine, Parvati.” That boyish smile hit me hard. He seemed so cool and gentle, not at all like the guy he was last night. I stiffened my lip.

“Well, nice seeing you.”

“Oh, hey, wait.” He took hold of my arm in the gentlest of ways, then released me as I faced him. “Please, accept my apology for last night. I wasn’t being very polite.”

I arched my brow. “No.”

“No?” His poor, sweet blue eyes stared back at me awaiting a better response. I could have left him there. Made him think I wouldn’t accept his apology, but that wasn’t me.

I tapped my chin. “No, Dax. Last night wasn’t very polite of you at all.”

One side of his lips curled into a grateful grin. “You had me nervous.”

I watched him blush as we walked to the pancakes together. I dropped two blueberry cakes on a plate. “Nervous? Not you.”

“Oh yes. We Rolsoms aren’t that perfect, you know.”

I tossed back my hair and caught his eyes from beside me. “You don’t say.”

Dax squirted a glob of syrup over his chocolate chip pancakes, so much that I made a face. “What’s the matter? Don’t like sugar?”

“Oh, brother,” I mused, “don’t you know I’m sweet enough?”

The laughter that came from him was purely perfect. Not too loud, not too exaggerated. Dax sounded so welcoming, like I could cuddle with him and let him tell me jokes and we’d laugh together…

Parvati! Stop it! Why couldn’t I go one hour without thinking those thoughts? I just called him my brother, for God’s sake!

Dax nudged his shoulder into mine. “I said, do you like eggs?”

“Oh,” I said. I tucked back my hair, then I gave him a brief smile. “Yes, I do. Oh, they have omelets.”

Dax moaned, tipping back his head as he licked his lips. “Sausage and peppers.” He leaned into me, and his sweet orange cologne roamed into my air like it had business to attend to. “Simple, but divine.”

Ah, hell, I was done for. I mean, they were brothers, so naturally they resembled each other. Beautiful eyes, lean bodies, sassy charisma. They were all so unique when alone too. Dax was kind and homegrown, and if I’d met him in the market, I wouldn’t immediately think he was some fancy rich guy.
