“I am.” I glanced at Darren’s closed door and frowned when I heard voices coming from the other side.

“He’s in there with Powell,” Lawson said.

“Oooh, is he telling him off?” Powell gave him so much trouble that I didn’t understand why Darren kept him on, but he assured me Powell was a genius at operations when he wasn’t busy being an asshole who thought he should always have his way.

Lawson tilted his head to one side. “What do you think?”

“I want to see this.”

“Darren asked not to be disturbed.”

“Darren doesn’t always get what he wants, especially when he promised to leave early.”

Lawson grinned. “I may have to watch too.”

“Only until Powell leaves. Then I’m going to need to be alone with my man.”

Lawson grinned. “Too impatient to wait until you get home?”

“I might be too impatient to wait until Powell is gone.”

“Are you sure you don’t have a friend you could set me up with? There’s only so much of you and Darren together a single man can take.”

“You seem to find plenty of men.”

Lawson sighed. “True, but none of them are keepers.”

I winked at him. “I’ll see what I can do.”

He followed me to Darren’s door, but when I opened it and walked in, he hung back in the doorway.

“What the hell?” Darren turned as the door opened. His icy glare only made me want him more. As soon as he realized it was me, heat flashed in his eyes. He covered it quickly, though. It wouldn’t do to let Powell or any of his other subordinates know he was human.

“I told you I’d meet you at home,” he said.

By now, he knew he’d never get me to back out of his office by acting like an asshole. His cold, unfeeling routine only turned me on because I knew that without much effort, I could melt it away and make him lose control. “I didn’t want to wait.”

“I’m in a meeting.”

I glanced toward Powell then back at Darren. “I can see that.”

“Lawson,” Darren barked.

“Yes, sir?” he said from the doorway.

“Why don’t you get Fox a cup of coffee and—”

“No, thank you. I’m not in the mood for coffee. I’m happy to stay right here. Don’t mind me. I can amuse myself while you talk business stuff.”

“Fox.” Darren glared at me, and I held his gaze. If I left, this meeting might go on for far too long. If I stayed right there, giving Darren a potent reminder of what he’d been missing, he would wrap things up in a matter of minutes.

“Powell, you have two minutes to state your case. I’ll make my final decision tonight and inform you in the morning.”

“Mr. Fontaine, the only reasonable course is for us to change the target on the acquisitions to reflect the issues our stakeholders have reported.”

“No.” Darren’s voice even made me shiver, and I knew his bark was—usually—worse than his bite. “That’s unacceptable.”

“There is no way—”

Darren slammed a folder shut and held it out to Powell. “If you don’t have an answer for me, you’re wasting my time. I expected more from you.”

“Mr. Fontaine, I can’t change reality.”

“Try.” He waved Powell toward the door.

Powell took the folder and stomped out.

“Lawson,” Darren called.

“I’m still here, sir.” He’d never left his spot by the door, obviously enjoying the show as much as I was.

“You can head home right after you make it clear to anyone else who is still in the building that they will be fired if they disturb me before ten tomorrow morning.”

Lawson tried and failed to suppress a laugh. “Will do, boss.”

As soon as Lawson turned away, Darren firmly shut the door and turned the lock.

“Watching you be an asshole makes me so fucking hot,” I said when he turned his evil businessman glare on me.

Instead of moving toward me, he walked to his desk, picked up a remote, and closed his blinds.

My heart pounded as I waited to see what he’d do next.

“Drop your pants and lie over my desk.”

“Fuck yes.” That was exactly what I’d been hoping for.

I lowered my zipper as I watched him carefully place his laptop in a drawer before calmly moving everything else to the side of the huge desk.

By the time he was done, my pants were around my ankles, and I was stroking my now fully hard cock. “This could only be better if you’d just swept your hand across the desk, knocking everything to the floor in your urgency to fuck me.”

“I have no intention of sorting all this mess again.” He narrowed his eyes as he watched the movement of my hand. “Don’t touch yourself unless I give you permission.”

“Oooh, is that how it’s going to be.”

“Yes. I had enough of your teasing while you were gone, and then you waltz in here, thinking you’re going to dictate how this night goes.”
