"A little bit of both," I decided.

"I mean, they're kind of fine for a hotel. But can you imagine this on the bedroom ceiling? Seeing exactly what kind of swamp creature you look like every morning? And becoming intimately acquainted with all your unflattering angles?"

"You don't have any unflattering angles," I assured her.

"I love you for lying through your teeth for me," she said, shooting me a teasing smile.

"I just love you," I told her, watching as her eyes went soft, as they always did when she heard those words, no matter how many times I said them.

"I think this is the part where we're supposed to get all romantic and bone under the mirrored ceiling," she said, scooting in to rest her head on my chest.

"But?" I asked.

"But I kind of just want to take a nap," she admitted with a chuckle.

"I have no objections to that."

"Does that make us lame?" she asked.

"I think it makes us parents," I said, shrugging.

"Okay. Good. But when we wake up from our nap, we're totally going to bone. But only from our good angles," she clarified.

"Sounds like a plan."

It never actually happened though. We slept right through until her mom and Theo came to pick us up.

But that mirror sex scene made its way into her next novel.
