I never wanted to draw a line between good and evil.

Yet, hoping my twin brother would change has gotten me nowhere.

I'm always his target, the mark in his game of retribution, but that doesn't keep him from hurting others to get to me.

I've kept from getting close to others because I knew that put them in his line of sight.

Morgan Spence is on both of our radars and as good as she feels in my arms, I have no way of knowing if she's there because she wants to be or if she's just another pawn in one of his deadly games

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter 1

Morgan

Parties are supposed to be fun, especially Halloween parties where everyone is dressed to the nines in fancy costumes and looking fabulous.

I went to great lengths to make this party a success. I needed chic and fabulous, something the attendees would talk about until next year's party.

There are no ridiculous costumes in the place. Everyone was instructed to... Is that a fucking blow-up dinosaur on the dance floor?

I grind my teeth, about ready to tell the guy following me with a spotlight to fuck off. It's making me sweat, and I can already tell my face is getting oily. In hindsight, the spotlight guy was probably a bad idea, and I make a mental note not to do the same next year.

Just the thought of another one of these parties makes my skin crawl. My dream would be to set these up for other people rather than be the center of attention when the night finally arrives. Doing both has left me wishing I hadn't taken this on. By the time it came time for the party, I was so exhausted I just wanted a nap.

I run my hand down my custom-made dress, making sure the fabric isn't shifting out of place. I look fabulous, and it's not just ego to think that way. I'm turning heads, and it's more than grateful looks from people happy to have been invited. They're literally staring at me, but I'm having a hard time keeping a smile on my face. My makeup team had to use more concealer than normal under my eyes today.

I know a lot of my worry stems from the argument I had with the guy I met a few weeks ago. The sex was fantastic, but the super clingy love bombing he did made my skin crawl.

I'm terrified he's going to show up tonight and make a scene or do something to try and ruin all my hard work.

I just don't get men who don't understand the word no. They think that arguing or explaining just how great they are means women are required to give them a second chance, as if our own thoughts, needs, and expectations mean nothing. If a man wants it, he should have it, and it's as simple as that.

As if my night couldn't get any worse with the damn dinosaur costume, I spot, of all things, a fucking eggplant swaying to the music on the dance floor.

Having enough, I begin to walk in that direction, my spotlight man struggling to keep up. He runs into my back when I suddenly pause, the woman the man is dancing with coming into view.

Kaylee looks like a princess in her wedding dress costume, and the smile lighting up her face tells me exactly who the man is. I don't recall another moment where I've seen my best friend so incredibly happy, and it pulls the first genuine smile of the night from my lips as I approach.

She seems too wrapped up in dancing to turn to face me, but eventually, she shares her attention with me.

"Is this your dick of a husband?" I ask with a smirk.

"Morgan, this is Ellis. Ellis, meet my ex-best friend."

"Nice to meet you," he says, holding out his hand.

I shake his hand but a flash of something to the far right of the room distracts me momentarily.

"Are you here to win her over or break her heart more?" I manage through my distraction.

"Win her over," he answers easily.

"You're a good guy in my book," I tell him, knowing he has to be from the smile I saw on her face moments ago. "Take good care of her."

I leave them to their night, darting away as quickly as possible to find the person I just saw wearing a dress similar to mine. Of course, I didn't put limitations on people's costumes, although after the eggplant and dinosaur, I imagine I may have to next year. But the chances were slim that someone would also dress like Cruella de Vil.

I lose her in the crowd of people, stopping in my tracks when I feel a warm hand land on my forearm.

My fake smile back in place, I turn toward the guest, wanting to scratch her eyes out.

"Margo," I say, looking at my former college dormmate. "So glad you could make it."

We attended the University of Las Vegas, where I graduated with a degree in finance, and she left her senior year because she found a husband, which, come to find out, was really her only goal.

"It looks like the company I suggested did an amazing job for you," she says as she looks around the room.

I barely refrain from scoffing. The company she suggested was trash, and I had to fire them after realizing they had no real idea what they were doing. I've wondered more than once if she suggested them because she knew how terrible they were or if her standards for a party are just much lower than mine.
I knew there was no point in looking back at what could've been when she couldn't even lift her eyes to me when her father ordered my death.
She didn't fight for me, didn't fight for us.
I knew better than to get tangled with a mafia princess.
I knew how it would end, only instead of dead, I was left in a much worse situation, having to know she was still alive and being unable to go to her.
Bitterness swam inside of me. Seven years of hatred building because of her silence.
But then her father died, leaving her at the hands of the very man who left me alive.
Not helping her isn't an option, but I second-guess stepping back into her life when I discover the secrets she's been keeping all this time.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Prologue

Jericho

"Tell me again," she whispers.

"Peach," I whisper, my hand cupping her cheek.

There are a million other things I could think of doing with this gorgeous woman in my arms than talking about a future we may never have.

"Please," she begs, her bright blue eyes shining up at me as she pleads.

I pull in a deep breath and begin, "The cabin in the woods will be surrounded by massive trees. No one will even be able to tell our home is back there. We'll have all the privacy we've been wishing for."

I can't count how many nights I've lain awake thinking of this make-believe cabin and how I know, despite craving it with everything I have, it's not something we'll ever get.

"I want a puppy," she whispers.

"You'll get your puppy," I assure her. "We should leave now."

Her eyes grow wide, just like they always do when the conversation takes us in this direction.

"My father would never allow it. You know I'm promised to Damien."

"Then leaving is the only way we'll have a shot at what we've been dreaming about."

"We have to make plans," she urges. "We have time."

"The wedding date is set for next month. There is no time."

She shakes her head. Aspen is terrified of her father, and there's no way for me to make her see that I can keep her safe. Not with the secrets I've been keeping from her.

"Do you love me?" I ask.

"You know I do," she says, her chin trembling with emotion.

"Can I trust you?"

"Of course, my love," she assures me.

It gives me the confidence to pull in a deep breath and tell her everything I've been hiding from her.

"I need you to listen to everything I have to tell you, and you can't freak out."

My heart races. Everything I have worked for comes down to this moment and, if she doesn't trust me, there's a lot at stake, including my life.

"I promise," she says. I can see the truth of her words in her eyes, but she has no idea about the bomb I'm about to place between us.

"I'm a federal agent working with ICE to take down your father's empire."

She's motionless, blinking at me, like my confession was spoken in a foreign language she doesn't understand.

"What?" she asks, her head tilting to the side as she pushes her hands against my chest.

I won't repeat myself because I know she heard me just fine. I need to give her time to process what I've told her.

As my always bad luck will have it, the door to her bedroom opens.

My heart races for another reason when I see Damien, the man she's promised to, standing there glaring at us.

We aren't undressed or in a compromising position, but it's clear that there's more going on than me being one of her father's cronies.

"Well, well, well," he says just as I open my mouth to ask the motherfucker why he thinks he has a right to open her goddamned door without asking.

I look to Aspen, concerned that he has a history of coming in here, and this is something she hasn't mentioned to me.

Tears roll down her face as she scrambles off my lap.

I don't know if it's the fact that we've been discovered by her betrothed or if it's because of my confession, but my skin grows cold with her absence.

"I think we need to have a conversation with Ivan," Damien says, his tone more level than I've ever heard from him before, which speaks of his anger.

The man is known for his anger and violence. It doesn't take much to send him into a rage, although I haven't seen him kill anyone since I've been on this case. If I had, I would've arrested the motherfucker without ICE's instruction just to get him away from his promise to Aspen. Many are afraid of him because of it, including Aspen. I can't imagine walking away from her and leaving her at his mercy.

"Peach," I whisper, but she continues to scramble from the bed. "Use the email address."

I gave her an email address right after I kissed her for the first time. Her cell phone is monitored, so we couldn't communicate that way. Instead, we use an email address I set up to make it look like it was a company she orders makeup from.

"Luke," Damien snaps. No matter how long I've had that name or how many times these people have used it, I don't think I'll ever get used to being called someone I'm not. "If you try to run, I'll slit your throat."

I don't see a way out of this, but I've only been working for Ivan Reese, a known importer of both drugs and guns, for a few months. As close as I've gotten to the only Reese heir, the organization still hasn't trusted me with a weapon in the house. I have no way other than my hands to defend myself.
The rules were simple:
Go to Vegas and get a feel for the place before you start the real work in a week.
Under no circumstances are we supposed to get involved with a case.
Yet after less than a week in town, I find myself married to a woman I don’t know because she got herself tangled up with some really bad guys.
It was meant to be a rescue, a problem easily solved, but as it turns out, life never works the way you think it will.
The contract Kaylee signed demands two years of service before she’s able to make another move.
With the threat of harm to those she loves, it’s up to me, and the other men of this brand new Las Vegas chapter of the Cerberus MC to figure out how to get her, and the other women these men have trapped, to safety.
As the days drag by, I find myself thinking that maybe being married isn’t so bad.
Only, it’s obvious that Kaylee doesn’t feel the same way.
How can I possibly make my wife see that being married to me isn’t all that bad?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Chapter 1

Heathen

How is this my life?

Sitting here with the New Mexico branch of Cerberus members wasn't even something on my radar as little as five years ago.

I had no idea this specific group existed, although I'd heard rumors that there were multiple groups around the United States that had teams that specialized in rescuing people who had been trafficked, either into sexual slavery, debt bondage, or forced labor.

This team is much different from the one I'll be on in Vegas, but I, along with a few other men, have been training with them for the last several months.

This gathering is sort of like our going away party, although it doesn't take anything substantial for this crew to get together and have a good time. Their quickness to turn a regular Tuesday into a party makes me realize that I've finally found the type of people I can really set roots down with.

"That could be you," Rooster says, nodding toward Hound's wife. Hound is a team leader for Cerberus New Mexico. I lost count but I swear the man has half a dozen kids with the club president, Kincaid's, daughter Gigi.

"That," I say without pointing, because I'm not as awkward in social situations as our Vegas IT expert Rooster, "is not the way my life will ever go."

He huffs a laugh with a wide smile as if he can see the future and I have some eye-opening changes coming.

"I'm serious," I argue. "Married with a horde of kids? Never."

"You don't like kids?"

I shrug. "I'm indifferent to kids, but I don't see this job being very kid friendly."

"Did they not give you the same eye test I had?" he asks. "Look around, brother. Every man here is tied down. That happens first, and then the kids come along."

Instead of arguing with him, I look around the room and just observe the people milling about. This place isn't only for the men and women who have dedicated their lives to righting the wrongs of evil men. They've forged a family, finding love and happiness in the midst of wickedness.

But as happy as I am for them, it's not something I see happening for myself.

Watching my parents as parts of a political machine has tainted any expectations of long-term happiness as far as an emotional relationship with a woman is concerned.

They married at the perfect age and from the viewpoint of people on the outside looking in, they're happy and supportive of each other. Not much is different at home. They don't hate each other, and they do make a perfect team, but their own political aspirations are what drives them, not love and family. They had children because it was expected, not because they wanted to shower their undying love on their offspring.

Neither were displeased when I joined the military. Time in service to your country looks very good on a political resume, but their first disappointment was when I stayed in for eight years rather than only the required four. The second time my father frowned at me was when I chose to work for a company that specializes in teaching people self-defense and at-home safety rather than going to law school.

The communication with my family over the last three years has been sporadic at best, and I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't given me a second thought since they've considered me no longer a part of the political legacy they have been building.

Safety First was where Kincaid found me and offered me a different kind of job. That first meeting blew me away. Considering the man knew more about me than I could recall of myself, I really thought I had been put in a bad spot where my own safety was concerned, but it all worked out. Here I am, one of the founding members of the Cerberus, Las Vegas Chapter.

"Team meeting in ten," Bandera says as he walks by.

I knew after my first five-minute conversation with Dustin "Bandera" Jennings that he already had it in his head that he would eventually become the Vegas chapter president. But even after several months of training, Kincaid still hasn't handed him that patch yet.

On the other hand, I just feel lucky as hell to be a part of something so incredible.

When Bandera begins to make his way toward the conference room, it activates us other four men who will be the initial team in Vegas.

By the time the doors of the massive room close, it's filled with the entire Vegas team as well as many of the New Mexico team, including every team leader and the remaining six original Cerberus members.

I look around the room, noting just how badass all of them are. Not for the first time since arriving here, I hope I can have just half of the success these men and women have had in aiding the rescue of so many trafficked and indentured people. They make a real difference in the world, and when I joined the military, it was all I ever wanted to do.
