“I didn’t hit him,” Cash huffs. “I just choked him a tiny bit.”

“Thank God.” Riley relaxes a little. “My future son-in-law can’t have a black eye in his wedding photos.”

This whole family is nuts, but I love them all. “Can you guys fight about this later?” I manage to stand on my shaky legs. “I need to see my girl.”

Cash and Riley lead me to Tia’s room. “Hawk,” Tia calls to me. I see red when I get a good look at the bruise marring my kitten’s beautiful face.

“Are you okay?” I rush over and sit on the bed next to her. “What happened?”

“I met my mom for lunch, and the waiter walked by carrying fish on his tray.” She shudders. “Evidently, I’m not going to be able to eat fish for the next eight months or so.”

I blink, trying to process what she’s saying.

“You knocked up my little girl and she passed out in the restaurant.” Cash interprets Jamison woman speak for me.

“Are you okay?” I’ve asked the question several times now and no one has given me a good answer. I need to know my little kitten is alright.

“I’m fine.” Tia pats my arm. “The doctor ran some tests to make sure my spill didn’t hurt the baby. He said I could probably go home tonight as long as I take it easy.”

“Thank God.” For the first time since Josh knocked on my door earlier, I take a full breath. “I’m going to keep you safe,” I promise her. “You won’t be out of my sight ever again.” My girl will just have to get used to having me as her shadow. I can only take one scare like that and survive.

CHAPTER TEN

TIA

My husband is completely smothering me. He’s lost his mind, and I’m about to lose mine. After the whole passing out in public scare, Hawk proposed. Actually, he demanded that I marry him, and I didn’t have the heart to put him through any more trauma so I happily accepted.

My parents wanted a big fancy wedding, but I put my foot down. There’s no way I could survive wedding planning and morning sickness at the same time. And my parents refused to even consider letting us have a baby without making our relationship permanent.

We ended up having a small, intimate ceremony in my parents’ back yard with only our immediate family, and everyone was happy. It was the first time my brothers met Hawk’s siblings, and we laughed until we cried at their antics. Landon and Dante tried their hardest to best the two Knightleys, but they failed miserably.

Having all the siblings around has been great since my husband refuses to let me lift a finger. He makes sure there’s always someone around to look after me. Hawk even hired a full-time housekeeper to make sure I don’t “overexert” myself.

“Hawk should be home soon, so I’m going to head out. I have dinner plans.” Raven hands me a glass of lemonade. “Do you need anything before I leave?”

“I’m fine,” I reassure my sister-in-law. “I really can stay by myself during the day. I’m a big girl.”

“You scared the holy shit out of my brother.” She shakes her head. “It’s going to be a while before he loses the caveman attitude.”

“I know.”

After Raven leaves, I lay my head back and stare at the ceiling until I drift off to sleep. My eyes pop open when I hear the garage door going up. Oops. I guess I was more tired than I thought.

“How’s my little kitten doing?” Hawk walks into the living room and sits next to me.

“Fine.” My teeth snap together. I think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. “I’m fine, the baby is fine, I’ve drunk enough water today, I’ve rested enough, and I’m about to go out of my mind with boredom.”

It’s been two months since we found out about the baby, and I’m already so tired of being pregnant. I’m so over waking up every morning ready to puke and going to the bathroom fifty times a day and gagging at the sight of coffee. Coffee. This little one won’t let me drink my favorite drink. Urgh.

“What can I do for you?” Hawk leans over and kisses the skin below my ear. His over-the-top sweetness was awesome for the first few weeks. Now, it makes me want to punch him in the balls.

There is one thing he can do to make me feel better. A mind-shattering orgasm should do the job. “You can take me upstairs and fuck me.” I shock us both. That’s one thing that has only gotten better with pregnancy. My hormones have turned me into a sex-crazed maniac.

“I’ll do anything for you.” Hawk stands and lifts me into his arms. “Even take one for the team.” He wiggles his eyebrows, and I throw back my head to laugh.
