“Marshall.” Courtney covers her mouth and turns to Rachel. “He doesn’t mean it, something is going on.”

“Good luck with him,” Rachel says, then she turns to leave. I don’t even watch her as I take Courtney’s cold hand.

“What the hell Ammo?” she screams. And if I didn’t have fucking cell phones pointed at me, filming us, and she wasn’t drunk, I’d probably take offense. As it is, I just want to go upstairs.

“Get everyone out,” I bellow at Ace. “Let’s go.” I head for the stairs as I pull Courtney with me.

“Stop, Ammo,” she snarls and tries to pull away. Christ, this is like a bad movie you want to walk out on but don’t because you want to see how it ends. I’d laugh if this wasn’t so fucked. As it is, the last thing we need is to wind up all over TMZ.

“Courtney.” My voice is menacing as I pull her close and growl in her ear. “Rachel’s not what you think. She’s stealing from you. Embezzling money…to the tune of millions.” My hands tighten on her arms because she’s so stiff I just want to shake her.

“It’s true, baby, over three-million dollars that we know about.” She turns her head and our lips almost touch.

“What? I don’t understand? How…would you even know this?” Her eyes fill up with tears.

“I have my ways.” My fingers brush her warm cheeks as she leans into me, then pulls back.

“No. I don’t believe you. Why would she do that? I mean, she’s my…she’s like my mom.” And I take a deep, calming breath because she’s intoxicated, and I lost my cool on her. This is hardly the time or place for me to have told her this, but no one is perfect.

“Let’s just go to bed.”

“I’m not going to bed with you,” she screams as tears spill down her cheeks.

“Whoa. Everything okay here?” And I don’t even think, I just turn and punch the prick who dares to try and interfere with me and Courtney. One good fist in the nose and he’s down, screaming and bleeding on the floor.

“Jesus Christ.” Ace is by my side, holding everyone back as I take a breath and look around. Courtney is crying, Melanie and Nuke are trying to hold her.

Yeah, this is fucked. I’m sure I’ll get sued…whatever, not the first time, won’t be the last. But what does make me stop and get my head in the game is the cunt.

Rachel, standing in the corner, phone out, filming everything.

Psycho.

But she’s messing with the wrong man. I’m gonna take this bitch down. Because Courtney matters. She comes first, and I’ll do anything to protect her, even if it’s from herself.

“Melanie, take Courtney to your house.” Ace’s voice breaks into my thoughts as he instructs Melanie to leave with Courtney, but I don’t break my gaze with Rachel. I do, however, grab ahold of Courtney.

“No. Courtney stays with me,” I state.

“Brother, this is a mess.” Ace puts a hand on my chest. “Listen to me, because I have your back.” His dark eyes turn serious.

“Everyone is filming this. I’m gonna take Courtney to Melanie’s, and bring her back in the morning. She needs to sober the fuck up, and you need to relax, man.” Ace motions for one of his guys to help the screaming dick on the floor.

“You better lawyer up,” the nameless dick threatens as they drag him past me.

“Get out,” I snarl.

“Ace is right, brother. Mel, take Courtney home with you.” Nuke steps in and my eyes finally leave the cunt to stare at him. He’s the one I should have punched. He’s the fucker who had the party and allowed her to get in this condition. Who allowed strangers around my woman when she has a stalker after her?

“Yeah… Come on, Court, let’s go to my house.” Melanie pats my arm as if trying to comfort me as my gaze is focused on Courtney.

“Um, no! Ammo needs to explain himself. Where were you all day?” she screams and sways.

“Go with Melanie,” I state, because all she wants to do is fight, and to be honest, nothing good will come out of this. My head is pounding. Pissed that I lost my temper, not to mention all the information Frosty has discovered. It’s probably best that Ace takes her to Melanie’s and brings her home in the morning.

“Ace?” I snap.

“Yeah?” His hand reaches out to steady her.

“Don’t take your eyes off her, I’m trusting you.” I already feel like someone gut punched me, because this is the last thing I wanted tonight.

“Oh, I don’t think so...” Courtney yells, but I turn to go upstairs, ignoring her angry rants about how dare I not want her.

“Come on, princess.” Melanie grabs her hand and starts to drag her as Ace follows.

“Ammo, you are un—”
