I, on the other hand, couldn’t look away; especially at the man doing the ass pounding. I recognized him. I’d seen him in my dreams and drawn him in my books. I knew the curves of his body and the intensity in his coal black eyes.

The man jerked to a halt before he lifted his head and sniffed the air. He backed away from his partner and my eyes bulged at the long, thick cock that peeked out between his zipper.

“You!” he yelled, and I snapped my gaze away from the mesmerizing sight.

“I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!” I lifted my arms over my head in surrender, dropping my sketchpad in the process. Even though a dirty bathroom floor was the last place I wanted it, I was too scared to pick it up. The man’s eyes were locked onto mine, and it felt as if he was looking straight through me.

“It’s you!” he yelled even louder, and I shook my head frantically.

“No it’s not!” I had no idea who he thought I was or what he wanted with me. Panic coursed through my body, and it quaked from head to toe.

“It’s okay, sweetheart,” the man soothed in a softer voice. “Don’t be afraid.”

Sweetheart? What the fuck is happening? The guy had to be drunk off his gourd and hallucinating. He took a step towards me and thankfully, my body acted on instinct, as I was too scared to control my own actions. I burst through the bathroom door and ran down a hallway towards a fire exit.

“Stop!” he pleaded as his footsteps thundered behind me. A surprisingly gentle hand gripped my shoulder and spun me around. I looked up into the man’s eyes, which were wild with confusion. “Why are you running from me, sweetheart?”

“You’re chasing me with your dick out!” I yelled back, stating the obvious.

He flicked his gaze between his impressive erection and my dumbstruck expression a few times before asking, “Do you not like it?”

My dumb ass nearly complimented him before I came to my senses. I stuffed my hand into my pocket and pulled out my keyring, which held a small canister of pepper spray. I always carried it for safety, but I never thought I’d actually have to use it.

As I lifted the bottle, the man cocked his head and leaned closer, examining it curiously. I squeezed my thumb down on the button and a stream of fiery liquid arced from the nozzle into his dark eyes.

“Gah! Fuck, fuck, fuck!” He dropped to the ground and rolled around, wiping his eyes frantically. All the while, his hard cock slapped from thigh to thigh.

I spun away and bolted through the emergency exit, causing a high pitched alarm to shriek behind me. I didn’t stop running until I reached my car, and then I peeled out of the parking lot, my tires squealing against the asphalt.

My heart slammed against my ribs and my chest heaved with uneven breaths. I felt guilty that I’d injured the man and worried that I overreacted, but also relieved that nothing had happened. Beyond anything else, I was positive that I’d never step foot in a club again.

Panic and grief seized my heart when I heard the fire alarm ringing; my mate was getting away, and I couldn’t chase after him because my eyeballs were currently melting out of my skull.

Above the noise of the alarm, I heard screams of confusion and fear, and the chaotic footsteps of the crowd fleeing in every direction. Some of those footsteps came straight for me, but then stopped suddenly. I was sure that everyone was taking in the pitiful sight of me thrashing around with swollen eyes and my dick on display.

Hunter’s voice cut through the rest when he approached and asked me, “What - and I cannot stress this enough - the fuck?”

“I saw him, Hunter; I saw my mate. But he was so scared and he ran away from me.” My very soul ached at the memory of the fear in his eyes.

“Okay, show’s over, folks,” Rowdy’s voice chimed in. A moment later, the alarm died away and the room was too quiet. “Let’s get back to the party.” Feet shuffled all around me, mixing with both words of pity and snickers as the crowd went back towards the dance floor. “I’ll grab some water,” Rowdy offered before his footsteps faded away too.

“Come on,” Hunter said softly as he heaved me into a sitting position, leaning my back against his chest. “Please tell me that you can get yourself tucked back in.”

By feel, I crammed my dick back into my jeans and zipped it away. Then Rowdy returned and poured cool water over my eyes as I blinked them repeatedly. Thanks to the liquid and my fast healing, my vision returned quickly and the stinging sensation faded away.
