No matter how exhausting it is, juggling school and work, all it takes is one look at my Dragonfly to remember why I’m going through all this shit. She deserves the world. She’s better than me, for damn sure.
Somehow, she thinks I’m worthy of her. I’m nowhere close, but I’ll keep trying every day to be who she needs.
“Fine,” I sigh, giving her ass a squeeze. “Yes to the band and maybe to the foam pit, but no bouncing. I’m not paying for anybody’s hospital bills.”
“What did I tell you?” Carter winks at Tamson. “Come up with something totally ridiculous for him to say no to, and everything else looks more reasonable.”
“Did I just get played?” I ask, making the rest of the table burst out laughing while Tamson throws her arms around my neck.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
