We step into the elevator and a couple in their sixties joins us and so does a businessman who looks harried. Halfway up, even more people get on and we’re jostled apart.

I lean against the metal railing at the same time a low buzzing starts. The panties work. Oh, they work.

But I’m going to throttle my husband for doing this. He’s kept me on edge all damn morning without so much as pressing a button.

I try to catch his gaze in the crowd but he’s staring straight ahead with his expression carefully blank. It’s the longest elevator ride of my life as he adjusts the intensity with each floor. The panties are whisper quiet but I’m biting on my lip as wave after wave of pleasure slowly washes over me.

Just before the release barrels through me, everything stops. I barely manage to bite back a curse.

When the elevator empties, Brody strides down the hall to our room like nothing is happening. He inserts the key card into the slot, and I take the opportunity to smack his shoulder.

“You’re a sadistic asshole,” I hiss under my breath.

He moves so quickly that I don’t have time to process. One minute we’re outside the hotel room and the next, I’m inside of it with my back pressed against the wall.

Brody flips up my skirt and tugs down the panties. He sinks into me in one quick thrust. “Needed you wet and ready, lamb.”

I grip his shoulders, my nails digging into the fabric of his thin t-shirt. He’s everywhere, invading every part of me and reminding me that we are one. It feels so good I want to sob. I’ve never been this close this quickly.

He growls my name as he hitches one of my legs higher. The new position opens my weeping pussy up to him and he uses it to pound even deeper. His thrusts are frantic and quick as he presses kisses to my neck.

He reaches for my aching clit and circles it. “Come for me now.”

I explode against him, my body arching and my toes curling. Sweat drips down my back and the blinding pleasure has me moaning so loudly I’m pretty sure other hotel guests can hear us. But I don’t care. All I care about is me and my husband together in this moment.

I watch Brody’s face as his release starts. So many emotions cross it, and he doesn’t try to hide any of them from me. Wonder and awe and joy and love. Most of all, love. There’s so much affection and tenderness when he looks at me. I know that whatever happens, he’ll always be by my side.

His hot, sticky seed fills my channel and coats my thighs. He sighs contentedly as it ends and gathers me into his arms. He carries me to the bed and sets me down gently. “You ready for a nap?”

I nod and reach for him, pressing a kiss to his lips. We were both awake most of the night. Between his nightmares and my anxiety, our schedule can be unpredictable.

But I’m planning to try a new anxiety medication next week and I’m hopeful that it might help. First, I have to talk to my doctor though. About that thing that I meant to do this morning.

Brody cleans me up before tucking me into the bed and joining me.

I fight a yawn at the same time my phone rings from inside my bag. I start to move but he stops me. He gets to his feet as I explain, “Elliott was supposed to call.”

We’re not the only ones dealing with the aftermath of trauma. Elliott feels guilty for not being there. He hasn’t said that. It’s in the way he flips out if I don’t answer my phone when he calls or texts me. Then he’ll start calling Brody repeatedly. If he still doesn’t get anywhere, he calls Riker or Colt to come check on us.

I was angry the first time it happened until I understood why Elliott was acting that way. Now I schedule time to talk with him each week. I keep him up to date on where Brody and I are going and what we’re doing. Well, not everything we’re doing. He’s my brother after all.

Sleepily, I close my eyes as I listen to Brody digging through my purse. He makes a surprised noise right before he answers the phone. “Hey, she’s going to call you back later. Yeah, everything is fine. I just need a few minutes with my wife.”

I yawn again, glad he bought us a few minutes to sleep. I’ve been careful about what I’ve told Elliott. I don’t want him to feel like our reactions to the kidnapping are somehow his fault.

Brody agreed to go to a couple of counseling sessions with me after I talked to him about it yesterday. He thinks he’s going to support me. Really, I just want him to talk to someone about what happened. I think maybe it might help him with his nightmares.
