For the first two weeks, as I was working on the house, I would only see him at night. He would come home at night; I would show him what I had done in the house, and before I could finish what I was saying, he would have me thrown over his shoulder and have me up to his bedroom with his head between my thighs. Listen to me. Calling it home when I don't even live here, sure, he tells me he loves me every chance he gets, and he always shows me how much with all of the little things he has done for me.

I mean, the man went to the store to get me tampons, and he brought back chocolate-covered strawberries. He even has Gran smitten with him. I swear I won the lottery. There is a part of me that is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Everything has been too perfect and normal life is not like this. I thought that it would be when I finished the house last week. He says he loves it, and luckily he did end up giving me some insight on what he wanted done in two of the rooms, so I feel better about him actually putting something in there that wasn’t just something I wanted or thought that would look good in there.

I must admit that I did a damn good job in it. It's perfect for a family of four, and it even has its own library. When the shoe didn’t drop, then I for sure thought it would with us working together at his office. After all, there is no way that we wouldn't get tired of seeing each other every day for hours on end, but it turns out I love working with him. That may just be all the orgasms talking, though. I feel myself blush as I recall how he has taken me on every surface in his office—the desk, his chair, the conference table, against the windows.

Tonight is our one-month anniversary, and Josh has deemed it our night. He told me to go home at six, and he would meet me there around seven, so I would have time to get ready for our night out. I have to admit that I love when he calls it home like it is ours. It might as well be half my clothes are in his closet, and I've slept here every night for the last twenty-eight days. The other two were poor attempts to go home and sleep there. I think we made it until two am before he showed up at my place. Now I can’t even remember how I ever went to sleep without him. I love being in his arms at night and knowing that he is right there if I need him. Hell, I love having his arms around me, period. I love him with everything in me, and I can already see what a fantastic future we could have together. The damn man has gotten me addicted to him, and he knows it.

Chuckling, I unlock the door and open it only to have my chuckle cut off into a gasp. There is a pathway of rose petals with candles lining it on either side. I shut the door and drop my bag as I follow the path through the house towards the kitchen and out to the balcony, where there is a table set up for two, with two glasses of wine and soft music playing.

“Oh, wow. I can’t believe you did all this for me,” I say in awe as I walk towards him. Then it dawns on me that he got here and was able to get all this done before I got here. “Wait, how did you get here before me? I left the office before you did.” He chuckles.

“I may have had some help, and I may have broken a spending law or two.” Giggling, I lean up and kiss him.

“Thank you for my surprise. I love it.”

“This isn't the surprise, baby,” he says with a mischievous grin before he drops to one knee and grabs my left hand. My right-hand flies to my mouth as I gasp.

“What are you doing?” Is this happening? Oh my god! Is this really happening right now?! My legs start to shake, and my eyes fill with tears as I look at the stunning white gold band with a huge princess cut diamond nestled in between two smaller amethysts.

“Tatum Lafontaine, you are the smartest, kindest, most amazing woman I have ever met. You fill my life with so much hope, laughter, and love. When I lost my parents, I feared that I lost my home. It turns out home was waiting for me three thousand miles away the whole time. You're my light at the end of the tunnel, baby. I can’t imagine my life without you. I love you more than words can describe. I don’t just want a month or a year; I want for you always. Will you marry me?”
