“You’re getting in the pool, right?” she asked me once she pulled back from the hug. She placed her hands on my belly with a wide smile. “I can’t wait to see this cute little belly,” she gushed.

I laughed. “I would if I had a swimsuit that still fit,” I told her. I frowned. “Besides, I’m not sure how I feel about showing off my skin,” I told her honestly, my voice lowering. “Caiden invited the guy he’s been seeing over to meet me. I don’t want to ruin what they may have together. He’ll stare; it’s inevitable, and Caiden can’t stand it when people stare at my scars.”

“Hun, your scars don’t define you. And if he can’t be a decent enough human being to turn his eyes away from your body, then Caiden deserves better.” She shrugged. “Come on. I have a cute, black bikini that you can wear, and it’ll look amazing on you.”

“I don’t know…” I trailed off, completely unsure. My family had seen the worst of it—saw the picture when they put it up in the courtroom. But Caiden’s ‘boyfriend’ hadn’t seen me yet.

“You’ll look amazing,” she tried assuring me as she gently pulled me up the stairs behind her. I sighed, knowing I wasn’t getting out of this. “I have scars, too,” she gently reminded me. I swallowed thickly. “It still affects me sometimes, but I’ve learned to ignore everyone’s stares. I have two great men standing at my back, ready to protect me if need be. Their opinion of me is all that matters.” She turned to look at me over her shoulder. “And Christian’s and Caiden’s opinions should be all that matters to you, too.”

We stepped into her room. She pulled out the bikini she mentioned and handed it to me. Drawing in a calming breath, I walked into her huge bathroom and quickly changed. It fit me perfectly, which I was happy about. And despite the scars covering my skin, I did look really cute, shockingly.

But the scars ruined everything.

I opened the door. “Meghan, I’m not sure—”

Christian and Caiden were both standing in the middle of the bedroom, and their eyes instantly landed on me. My cheeks flamed red as they both ran their eyes over me.

“Jesus Christ,” Caiden finally growled.

Christian moved first, his hands sliding over my belly before he leaned down and took my lips in a slow, deep kiss. I moaned, my hands sliding over his biceps and up his shoulders, drawing him closer to me.

“Not now,” Caiden warned. I whined when Christian slowly pulled his lips from mine. He pecked my nose. Caiden gently pulled me away from Christian with a shake of his head. “She looks hot as fuck—I know.” I covered my face with my hands, making both men laugh. “But Meghan is expecting her downstairs, and she’s going to come up here if we don’t have her downstairs in the next ten minutes.”

“I’m going to be sporting a raging hard-on for the next few hours,” Christian grumbled.

“We’ll have blue balls together, bro,” Caiden told him.

“Oh, my God,” I whispered in mortification. “Can you two not?”

Caiden and Christian both laughed before Caiden pressed his lips to my temple. “Out,” he gently ordered with a tap to my ass. “You look hot as fuck, and it’s going to be a fucking task for me and Christian not to take you over and over in that pool.” I didn’t think it was possible for my cheeks to get any redder. “Go.”

Snatching the towel from Christian that he held out to me, I quickly wrapped it around me as I left the room, leaving my two laughing men behind me.

Caiden suddenly spun me around on my float. I squealed, reaching out to grasp onto his upper arms, my eyes wide with shock. He laughed before he leaned down to kiss me. “Michael just texted me—said he’s here. I’m going to go meet him out front.”

I nodded at him, playfully waving him away. He grabbed my hand and pressed a kiss to my palm before shooting me a playful wink. I watched, a sigh leaving my mouth, as he lifted himself out of the pool, every muscle in his back and arms flexing.

“He is so fine,” I whispered.

Christian barked out a laugh as he appeared in front of me, blocking my view of Caiden. “I’m beginning to think you have a favorite, my moon.”

I blushed and grabbed his hand in mine, using it to pull me closer to him. “No favorites,” I told him with a smile on my face. “I’d stare at you just as much if you were to flex your muscles like he just did.”

Christian rolled his eyes at me before he leaned down to peck my lips. “You’re so fucking adorable, beautiful.” He jerked his head in the direction of the grill. “Food is done, and you need to eat.”
