“I thought that might be the case.”

“It was posted outright in one of the fan message boards and on a well-known forum. Anonymously. I’ve been trying to figure out who it was, but I’m no hacker. I do have a friend I could reach out to for help, though.”

“Nah,” Ajax breathed. “It’s done. I wish they hadn’t, of course, but what can we do about it now? Better to just let it go.”

“It pisses me off because it has to be someone we know. I worked hard to keep that location secret.”

“Doesn’t make me very happy, either. Luckily, this house is set back from the fence, so I’m not bothered too much. And I have protection here in the form of a very intriguing bodyguard.”

“Ooh, do tell.”

Ajax grinned. Anton had been with him for three years and had become a friend, which wasn’t unusual for Ajax. He always planned to keep things professional but inevitably ended up bonding with the people he worked with. Like Anton and his former bodyguard, Jake. He’d trusted both of them with everything precious to him, and neither had ever let him down. “I’ll just say that you’d like him a lot. He has this sort of powerful, masculine protectiveness that—”

“Makes you melt?”

He snorted. “Pretty much.”

“Is he single?”

“He is very, very single. And gay.”

Anton chuckled. “You don’t stand a chance. Not with six months of being around him. I’ve seen some pictures. Rough looking guy. Muscly and tattooed. Your real type?”

“Right.”

“I may melt, myself.” There were some rustling noises as Anton laughed. “Knowing you, it’ll take all those six months for you to even be ready to make a move. I suggest you don’t. A fling would do you some good.”

Ajax didn’t tell him that this time, it was different. That he’d been pretty much bowled over right off the bat. Finn had made Ajax change the way he saw his own sexuality. That was a little too much to share. Plus, it was like this delicious secret he wanted to keep to himself. But he did admit one thing. “I like him a little too much for just a short fling.”

“Oh.” The word was quietly uttered, but there was a lot of understanding in the tone.

“Yeah,” Ajax breathed out. He’d asked to sleep with Finn, and he’d meant this to be a fling, but there was a part of him that knew his own nature too well. He was already attached, anyway. Finn was just plain kind. And Ajax wanted kindness in his life. Kindness and fire—such a wild mix. He was so drawn to Finn, to his scent, to his very nature. And that body was just ridiculous.

His first thought that this might be a problem, the very first time they’d met, came back to him. But he shoved it away. He deserved some fun. He deserved some real passion.

“Ajax? You got so quiet. Do you know what you’re doing?”

“I do.”

This was going to be fine.

He wrapped up the call after a few more minutes of actual business talk, then walked into the kitchen for a soda. He was bent over to grab one out of the refrigerator when he heard Finn step into the room.

Ajax slowly straightened, the can cold in his hand. Finn walked toward him, backing him into the still open appliance. The frigid air on his backside didn’t even make a dent in the fire that streaked through him when he took in the absolute intention on Finn’s face.

Finn took his mouth.

He cupped the sides of Ajax’s neck, holding him in place for complete ravishment. His tongue thrust deep, his fingers were tight, and when he pressed his body against Ajax’s, it felt like the floor disappeared beneath his feet.

He clutched Finn’s forearm with his free hand, the other still gripping the ice-cold soda can.

Finn tilted his head, his tongue a sensual slide against Ajax’s. The kiss went on and on until Ajax couldn’t believe he was still able to stand.

Then Finn pulled back and slowly, his lips turned up in a wicked grin of promise. “Later,” he said before walking out of the kitchen.

His voice had been ragged. He was just as affected by that kiss. It took some time for Ajax to realize his ass was actually freezing. He moved away from the refrigerator and shut the door.

This passion, it felt wild. Out of control. And that fucking grin! The jinn was pure sex. And he wanted Ajax. The knowledge was heady, and a huge smile spread over his face.

Despite the raging erection in his pants, Ajax felt inspiration strike. He clutched the soda and hurried toward the nook to grab his guitar. For once, he didn’t even bother with his rituals. Words coalesced in his mind. Flowing and rearranging, forming complete sentences that would inevitably later change, but the basics were there, and they felt good as he began to sing.
