As we come down from our climax, we collapse to the bathroom floor with me straddled on his lap and his cock still buried deep inside me. “You’re so fucking beautiful,” he pants, trying to catch his breath as he drops his forehead to mine.

“You’re not so bad yourself, Captain,” I tell him. He smirks at my attitude and crushes his lips to mine, hard and passionate at first, before changing to something deeper and filled with raw emotion.

Jax pulls back and looks me in the eye, his fingers brushing the hair back off my face. “I love you, Cass,” he murmurs. “I was going to wait, but this right here, just you and me. This is where it’s real.”

My brows furrow, watching as he reaches back across the bathroom floor and drags his pants across the tiles toward us. He searches through the pocket before pulling out that familiar little black box, and I gasp, understanding what he’s doing.

Jax meets my eyes as he opens the box to reveal the beautiful ring within, the very one he used when stating his intentions to my father nearly four long years ago.

My eyes fill with tears as I wait with bated breath, hanging on his every word. “I was going to take you to dinner with your family and Bri, but right now, just you and me, nothing gets better than this,” he says, looking me right in the eye. “You’ve been my girl since I was twelve years old, and I don’t know how, but I fall more deeply in love with you every fucking day. We’ve been through every up and down this world could possibly throw at us, and yet somehow we’ve come out stronger.”

The tears fall down my cheeks, and he takes a breath, those eyes boring into mine and making sure I truly hear him. “Cassandra Waters. I love you, and I can’t wait to make you my wife. Tell me, fuck. Please tell me that you’ll be my wife.”

Undeniable joy fills my veins, and I throw myself into him, crushing my lips to his. “Yes, Jax,” I cry through our kiss. “Yes, I’ll be your wife. Every day of the rest of our lives. Nothing would make me happier.”

Jax smiles against my lips, and I feel as though he’s just handed me the whole world. My every dream and fantasy since I was twelve years old unfurling right here between us. Our worlds have collided once again, and this time, I’ll never let him go.

Jax picks us up off the floor and takes us to the bed where he proceeds to make the sweetest love to me until Logan comes banging at the door.

We make it down to dinner and are in the middle of eating when Jax announces that he has asked me to marry him. Bri’s scream is loud enough to almost get us kicked out of the restaurant, and she launches herself across the table, throwing her arms around me as my brothers go nuts, ordering every bottle of wine the restaurant holds.

The majority of his teammates are in the same restaurant, and I can’t help but laugh as Aaron and Shorty physically pick up their tables and come to celebrate with us, clapping Jax on the back and giving me congratulatory hugs.

Within seconds, the restaurant turns into the best party New York has ever seen, and as I get up and stride around, I let out a shriek when Jax grabs me around the waist and pulls me down onto his lap. My arm falls behind his neck as he holds me tight, pressing a kiss to the sensitive skin below my ear. “I signed with the pros,” he tells me.

My head whips in his direction. “What?” I screech, my eyes bugging out of my head as my heart races with happiness. “Holy shit, Jax. Are you serious?”

He smirks up at me. “You heard me, babe,” he says. “Bobby, too.”

I grab hold of his face and crush my lips against his, getting a roaring approval from our friends and family. “Which team?” I ask, grinning against his warm lips, trying to remind myself to come back to the whole Bobby thing later.

His smile turns from a smirk into an adoring grin. “You know that big house in the hills we talked about?”

“Yeah?” I prompt, knowing he’s about to tell me all my dreams are coming true.

“It’s all yours, baby.”

“What?” I practically sing. “Colorado? You signed with the Colorado team?”

He smirks, but a voice from across the table steals our attention. “Ahh, get fucked,” Logan curses, shaking his head. “You’re not on my team, are you?”

Jax grins right back at him, a devilish sparkle hitting his eyes. “You better watch your back, Logan,” Jax tells him, his hand gripping my thigh. “Colorado has a new star player now.”
