Morgan beamed. “I can’t wait to see her again and ask what Paris was like!”

I was still trying to process the fact that I was picking up Georgie and that she was staying at my house. Did he not remember what happened between us when we were younger?

Dad ignored the fact that I was clearly about to have a mental breakdown. “Well, you’ll get to see her at Sunday dinner since we’ve invited her,” he said to Morgan. “I expect everyone to be on their best behavior.” This time he looked directly at me.

“I highly doubt I’ll be sneaking off to steal a kiss, Dad.”

“Or play touchy-feely,” Ryan mumbled.

Dad and I both shot Ryan a look. He lifted his hands. “Sorry, I couldn’t resist.”

“Wait, what?” Morgan asked as she looked at me. Then it dawned on her. “Oh my God. Georgiana Crenshaw is the girl Dad caught you almost having sex with? Is that why she never came back to the ranch?”

“Thanks,” I said to Ryan.

“Okay, well, this is where I’m going to head on out,” Dad said. “Thanks for doing this for me, Blayze. I’ll send you her cell phone number, so you can figure out the best time to pick her up.”

Dad turned and headed out of the kitchen area toward the front of the house.

I sat there, stunned into silence. I hadn’t seen Georgie in more than ten years. And now she was going to be staying with me for a month. A month!

“If I didn’t know any better, Blayze, I’d say you were scared to have Georgiana stay with you,” Morgan mused.

“Scared? Why in the hell would I be scared?”

Ryan laughed. “Let’s see. The last time you two were together, you got caught by your dads about to have sex. Then you acted like a complete ass to her.”

“Eww, no! You were so young!” Morgan stated. “What did you do to her?”

“Nothing,” I replied.

Morgan frowned. “I’ll just ask her myself.”

“Your version—I’m positive—will be different from hers,” Ryan said with another laugh.

“Just tell me, please.” Morgan pulled on my arm. When she got nowhere with me, she turned to Ryan. I knew the moment she batted her eyelashes at him, he’d break.

“What happened?”

And break he did. The bastard opened his mouth and the words just spilled out.

“They were rounding third base when Jeff and Brock caught them. Georgiana was horrified, and when Blayze found her out riding after it happened, he apologized. She told him she was glad they were caught because she would have made the biggest mistake of her life if she gave Blayze her virginity. That she wanted to be with a guy who wasn’t a flirt and a player.”

Morgan gasped. “She said that?”

Ryan nodded.

I sighed as Ryan went on.

“Then, that night Blayze went to a party and slept with…”

“Ryan,” I said in a firm voice.

“He slept with someone else.”

“Did Georgiana find out?” Morgan asked as she looked at me.

With a frustrated sigh, I said, “I told her the next day. Then I flirted and kissed as many girls as I could in front of her for the rest of the summer. She asked her dad if they could leave early and that was the last time she came to Hamilton.”

“You arranged for her to walk in on you making out with Jasmine,” Ryan added. “I think that was when she asked her dad to leave.”

“Blayze Shaw! Our father would beat you!”

I scrubbed my hand down my face. “I was sixteen, for fuck’s sake. None of it matters. I’m sure she’s forgotten all about it.”

Morgan laughed. “Trust me, big brother, when a man uses other women to make us jealous, it pisses us off.”

Her eyes snapped over to Ryan, who looked taken aback by the comment that had clearly been directed at him.

“Why are you looking at me? I’ve never done that.”

I swore I saw red in my sister’s eyes.

She slowly turned her head to me and drew in a slow, deep breath. Ryan and I both took a step away from her.

“The one thing that will turn off a woman is if you’re a womanizer. And the two of you have your pictures in the dictionary above the definition.”

“What?” we both said in unison.

“Since when does harmless flirting make you a womanizer? I think you need to find a new dictionary, sis,” I said.

Putting her hands on her hips, Morgan smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “You think by throwing that one word in there, it excuses you, Blayze? Harmless. It isn’t harmless when a woman is madly over the moon for you, and you use some other woman to push her away. Regardless of her age. It hurts.” She looked at Ryan as she finished. “It’s far from harmless.”

Turning on her heels, she quickly made her way through the house and out the front door. Slamming it as she left.
