She lands on her knees in front of us and yelps, “Ow! Asshole!”

I take a step toward the little shit stain while Ace helps Aria to her feet. “What the fuck is your problem?”

Emiliano sneers. “Alejandro was my friend. He was family, and your people killed him. That bitch you’re protecting is going to pay. Big time.”

I don’t like the smile on his face, but I keep my own expression blank, which infuriates the punk.

His nostrils flare angrily, and in the next moment, a black nine-millimeter points in my direction. “If she doesn’t pay, then you will,” Emiliano growls.

Banger, who’s been quiet since we entered the hotel, makes his presence known by pulling out his own piece and aiming it right between Emiliano’s eyes.

“Do that,” he says with a menacing growl, “and it will be the shortest fucking victory in history.”

“Stand down,” Arturo orders his son, his face red and furious.

Emiliano puffs himself up, all tough guy barking at his father. “No way, Papa. These men killed Alejandro. You can’t let them get away with it.”

I smile at the thought of that dead asshole. “He should have been better at his job,” I say. “Attacking a bunch of women the way he did? I say he got what he deserved.”

That pisses Emiliano off even more, but I just smile. “Fuck you!” he snarls at me and then faces Arturo. “Papa, this is the only way to make it right.” He has a death grip on the gun, so angry he’s shaking with it.

A woman’s voice sounds out of nowhere. “Put the gun down, Emil.” I look for the source. “You’re always so dramatic, she adds.”

There’s a hint of familiarity to the voice, soft and feminine and slightly accented. I glance around until I spot the owner of the voice holding a glass, and my eyes go wide. My mouth falls open at the woman who’s been on my mind since that fucking cruise ship left Costa Rica two years ago. Maria.

Emiliano shakes his head. “Shut up, Valentina. You should be more furious than any of us. He was your husband!”

Husband?

She scoffs and finishes off the tumbler of golden liquid. “Oh, please. Alejandro and I barely tolerated each other, mostly for Papa’s sake. Put the fucking gun down, baby brother.”

Baby brother?

My head spins. Maria is the daughter of Arturo Rojas? Shit, my island fling is a fucking cartel princess? She dresses miles better than Maria, who didn’t dress like a rich chick or even a woman who knew anything about fashion. This woman, Valentina? She dresses the part of cartel royalty perfectly.

“Maria?”

She freezes at the sound of my voice, or maybe it’s just the name of the alias she’d given me in Costa Rica. Those green almond-shaped eyes, even in the dim lighting of the penthouse suite, shine bright. Her white-blonde hair hangs in sexy waves around her bare shoulders, and her pink lips form a sexy pout.

“Jake?”

Our gazes lock across the expansive suite, and instantly I’m lost in the memories of the sexiest, most sexually satisfying time of my life. Her skin still glows the same sun-kissed honey-brown that I remember, her tits as ample and mouthwatering as ever. Fuck, I still want her, even knowing who she is.

“Motherfucker, you are so dead.” Emiliano is even more dead set on killing me now that he’s sensed the intimacy between his sister and me.

“Get on your fucking knees.”

“You wish, bitch.” I shouldn’t taunt him, but he makes it so easy.

“Cut the shit,” Ace growls.

“Shut up, Emil,” Arturo shouts at the same time.

Ace barks, “Banger, get Aria the fuck out of here. Back to the clubhouse,” while Emiliano and I stare each other down.

“Do you even know how to use that thing?” I ask, taunting him.

He smirks. “There’s one way to find out.”

“Yes, but do you have the balls?”

“Goddammit, Dix, shut up,” Ace roars at me.

“Emiliano, go to your room,” Arturo bellows.

I snicker, “Go on, son. No dessert for you tonight,” and he sends me a death glare.

He has fire in his eyes but ultimately listens to his father and leaves us alone.

Arturo looks at me, long and hard, trying to figure out if I’ve seen his little girl naked. I let him because I don’t shy away from his assessing gaze. Instead, I meet it head on, daring him to ask questions he doesn’t want answered.

He turns to Ace and says coolly, “Mr. Ace, you and I will talk soon.”

Ace nods at Arturo and heads toward the door.

I know he’s expecting me to follow him, but my gaze goes back to Maria, fuck. I mean to Valentina, and it lingers a little too long.

Heat flares in her eyes, and she nods quickly for me to leave, so I do.

For now.

But knowing that she’s here so close to Angel Harbor? Oh fuck yeah, I’ll have her again.
