Draven sped up, and she began to thrust up to meet him. He felt his own orgasm building, and he didn’t fight it. He built up to thrusting harder and faster within her, and as he came, he filled her hard and deep, knowing there was a chance of her getting pregnant. She wouldn’t be on any contraceptives. In their world, women were not allowed to be.

He could be a father before the end of the year.

Chapter Three

Maria was no longer a virgin. She was married and no longer a virgin.

She replayed the moment in her mind, recalling the sharp pain as Draven had taken her. The pain hadn’t lasted. He’d waited though. Draven had looked at her and waited.

She didn’t think Draven was capable of patience, but he’d shown it. He waited until the pain was gone, and then he’d fucked her.

Maria didn’t think she’d like sex, but there was a moment when he’d been fucking her, that she’d felt a spark inside her. She hadn’t been able to explore it because he had come not long after the feeling had started to awaken.

Once he finished, he’d climbed off and then made her sit up. She had done as he asked and he waited a couple of minutes and then told her to go to the bathroom to clean up. As she did this, he’d changed the sheets.

She wasn’t an idiot. Maria knew what he was doing. He was taking the sheets as proof of her virgin status. Only she wasn’t a virgin now. She was a married woman, and they had consummated their marriage.

This morning, when she woke up, Draven was already dressed and told her to meet him in the dining room. Maria lifted her head and saw that had already been ten minutes ago.

Scrambling out of bed, she rushed to the bathroom. She used the toilet, flushed, washed her hands, and found a toothbrush. Draven had thought of everything, as he left a note next to a clean one. She removed the packaging and brushed her teeth.

Making her way back to the bedroom, she saw the bed had already been made while she’d been in the bathroom.

“What?”

There was no sign of anyone entering the room or even leaving it.

On the bed was a dress, a pretty white one. Maria didn’t know where it had come from. There was also matching lingerie beside it, and on the floor was a pair of white shoes with heels. She had spent many hours practicing with heels.

Changing into the lingerie, she was shocked by how nice it felt against her skin. She was worried the dress wouldn’t fit, but it did so, perfectly. She slid her feet into the heels and loved the way they felt. They didn’t pinch but were a perfect fit. Maria had no idea who’d chosen the outfit, but it was beautiful.

She couldn’t help but rush to the bathroom and have a quick glance in the mirror. There was no chance of her changing into a beautiful, serene woman, but she had to see how she looked. The bruise on her face looked even more black and blue this morning. It stung a little to touch, but she ignored it.

Maria couldn’t help but feel deflated. She was still the same fat, ugly woman who’d been there last night. Clothing didn’t change that.

Leaving the bedroom, she made her way to the main staircase, where Calvin had taken her yesterday. She walked down the stairs, being careful as she walked in the heels.

Calvin waited at the bottom of the stairs. Maria gave him a smile.

“Mr. Esposito is waiting for you,” Calvin said.

“He said to meet him in the dining room.”

“Yes.”

“Where is that?” she asked.

Calvin smiled at her and then walked left, and they crossed the main floor, going to a large room. The dining room had two doors, both of which were open.

She saw Draven was at the head of the table, paper in hand. There were a couple of maids in the room, carrying trays. Maria hated how sick she felt. Her nerves were slowly getting the better of her.

Focus.

Walk.

She had survived the night.

Stepping into the main dining room, Draven looked up. His gaze traveled up and down her body. She couldn’t help but wonder if he regretted marrying her. He didn’t have to stand up and claim her last night.

She didn’t have a death wish, but she felt at peace with the prospect of dying. There was nothing to live for.

“Good morning,” he said.

“Morning.”

At home with her parents, she never shared breakfast with them, not if she wanted to be their main source of criticism. Her mother would say she couldn’t eat because she felt sick by the sight in front of her. It became easier to just eat in the kitchen. The staff had all been nice to her. They didn’t seem to mind her company, while her parents and siblings did.
