“Then lie down,” she says. “Please.”

“You know I love it when you beg,” I tell her.

And I oblige. I lie down next to her, feeling both large and powerful next to her tiny body, yet strangely vulnerable as well.

She rolls over on her side, her breasts so perfect, and reaches forward, pressing her fingertip on my nose. She smiles to herself, as if pleased.

I frown. “What are you doing?”

“I just booped you.”

“You booped me? Is that mortal slang for fucking? Because if it is, I prefer the word fuck.”

She lets out an airy laugh. “No, silly God. You boop someone when you touch their nose. Like this.” She does it again. “Boop!”

I can’t help but chuckle. “I suppose I told you to never stop surprising me. You really are something else, Hanna.”

She boops me again and this time I try to bite her finger. She retracts it just in time, holding it coyly against her chest. The raw, overwhelming need to dominate her comes over me and my dick stiffens. How can she be so sexual and adorable and lovely all at the same time?

I cover her body with mine, my hands coasting over her body, her hands tangled in my hair. She’s already wet, I slide right in. A tight fit as usual, I drive myself in deep until I’m pressed up against her and grinding.

She moans, music to my ears.

I want a lifetime of those moans.

I go slowly. We both move with calm urgency, mirroring the seas outside. I take my time feeling, licking, tasting every inch of her. Things feel different somehow in this cabin now, like the closeness of the quarters is making me feel like I’m in her skin and she’s in mine.

You’re losing it, Tuoni, I tell myself. You’re losing yourself in her. Do not let that happen.

But the words fall away and I don’t listen to them, not at this moment. I don’t listen to much except her quick, shallow breaths as the heat inside her builds, the wet sound of me sliding in and out of her, the creak of the boat as it glides through the waves.

“You’re mine for eternity,” I whisper to her, running my hands through her hair, wishing I could feel her strands between my fingers. “Tell me you know that.”

She gives me a look of faint surprise before my hips pump against hers again and she’s gasping, mouth open, eyes rolled back.

“Tell me you’re mine,” I go on, determination and release chasing me at the same time. “I need to hear it.”

“I am yours,” she says softly. “I am yours, you are mine.”

Then she cries out as her body tenses, pulse quickening, and I push her over the edge.

“Look at you little bird,” I whisper to her as her back arches and her body shakes, her orgasm rolling through her. Cheeks flush, lips pink, eyes full of wild tenderness. “Look at you fly.”

She comes and comes and then I explode inside her. I move roughly into her body, grabbing her hair, grinding my teeth as thoughts escape me, a low growl coming from my chest.

Fuck.

Another thread unraveled.

I pull out, muscles shaking, which is strange since my body is never pushed to the limit, and I roll over beside her, trying to breathe, feel like myself again. My heart is a drum inside my skull.

I can’t stop thinking about her. About this. About us.

Her breath is deepening and she’s almost asleep again when I find myself saying:

“What do you want, Hanna?”

She stirs. “What do you mean?”

“I mean, what do you want?” I repeat. “What do you really want? Right now. Everyone wants something, Hanna. What is it that you desire the most?”

“At this moment? In the whole wide world?”

“In all the worlds.”

I hear her swallow. She rolls over on her back, licks her lips. A lengthy pause as she tries to gather her thoughts. I’d say I caught her off-guard, but the truth is, so many mortals don’t ever really stop to figure out what they want from life, let alone what they want in that very moment.

“I want to make sure my father is alright,” she says in a quiet voice.

It’s as I thought she’d say. Loyal to the end. “Is that really it? Is that really all you want?” I take in a deep breath, wondering if I’ll regret the words I’m about to say. “If I let you go, would you go, right now? Would you just up and leave me?”

She rolls her head to the side to eye me, frowning. “Why are you asking me this?” she asks cautiously.

“I’m curious. I have been for some time.”

She swallows and then nods. “If I was allowed to come back, I would go. Just to make sure he’s alright. I would come back.”

“Would you?”

“Yes. I would.”

“So then, what do you want? If your father is taken care of and safe for the rest of his life, then what do you want? Would you want him to come back with you here?”
