“Thanks, brother.” I nod at Ruger as he hops off the bike, and I take his place. “You going to be alright here for a minute?”

“Rooster’s on his way. Go take care of your shit. I’ll be out there shortly.”

I thank him again and fire up the engine without wasting any time. The rumble beneath my thighs sends a shot of adrenaline straight through me as I pull out onto the interstate and drive with a single-minded focus.

Our compound is out in the Moapa Valley, so it’ll take me a bit to catch up. Within twenty minutes, I catch a glimpse of Ace’s Ford Raptor and pass them with a nod. He jerks his chin toward the back of the truck, letting me know that’s where the girls are.

I drive back to the compound with a thrashing pulse and the stinging bite of the wind on my neck. I haven’t figured out exactly how this will play out once we get them there. I just know I’m not letting her out of my sight until I get the truth.

I’ve spent five fucking years sifting through the wreckage Bianca left behind. With every second that passes, it hits me all over again, sparking my wrath like nothing else ever has. I knew she was angry with me over the way things went down. We made a professional sport out of hurting each other, but I would never have believed she could leave me to rot behind bars for his murder. Yet the facts are there. She’s alive. She’s the only person with answers about what happened that night. And it’s clear as fucking day she never had any intention of coming forward. She left me in a hole so dark I don’t even want to think about it. And now I’ve got five years of pent-up guilt, grief, and anger to unleash.

My heart races as I pull into the compound. They won’t be far behind, and the minute they roll to a stop, all hell will break loose. Two minutes later, the gravel crunches beneath Ace’s tires as he turns into the entrance, and the gates begin to swing shut behind him. In the haze of dust, I can see both girls sitting up in the back of the truck and looking at each other before they glance around.

Bianca’s face morphs to panic when her gaze locks onto mine. Reality is a harsh fucking blow, and she’s not hiding her fear that she’s been caught. But it’s her pal Eden who bails first, flinging herself over the side of the truck before it even comes to a full stop in front of the clubhouse. Her eyes flash to Ace as he gets out of the truck, and then the other guys who’ve been waiting for our return.

“What the hell are you doing?” Eden snarls at us like a trapped animal. “Why did you bring us here?”

“Ask your friend.” I set my helmet on the bike and cross my arms, waiting for Bianca to make her move. She looks dazed and horrified.

“That’s the guy.” She swallows, her gaze flashing to Eden. “He’s the one I told you about.

“Oh, hell no.” Eden shakes her head. “Come on, Lyric. We’re getting out of here.”

“You’re not going anywhere.” I stomp toward the truck as Ace grabs Eden and wrestles her into submission. He secures her arms behind her back with a set of zip ties, but that doesn’t stop her from thrashing and screaming once it’s said and done. It takes Ace and Tank both to haul her inside the clubhouse while Bianca watches with a helpless expression.

“Look, I don’t know who you think I am, but—”

“Save it.” I open the tailgate and snap my fingers at her. “Get out of the truck. Now.”

She trembles as her eyes dart around wildly, looking for an escape. But there is none. Not now. She’s cornered, and I’d be lying if I said the dread on her face didn’t bring me some satisfaction after all the hell she’s put me through. The same question keeps spinning through my brain like a goddamn broken record.

How could she fucking do this to me?

“Please,” she whispers. “I don’t know what you want from me.”

At this, I snort in disgust, wondering how I ever fell for her act before.

“We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” I tell her. “I can assure you the result will be the same, regardless.”

When she still doesn’t move, I hoist myself up into the bed of the truck, and she shrieks, backing herself into a corner. Two full strides and I’m standing in front of her, so close she has to tilt her chin to look up at me. She’s terrified, and it sickens me that even after all these years, after everything, my dick still gets hard when I look into her traitorous fucking eyes.
