Clearly, karma was happy with him.

Some of his best times came by way of the wealthy who wanted to slum it with a biker. They liked it hard, fast, and dirty. They got off on his coarse language as he made them ride his cock.

His body tightened, exhilaration and anticipation helped him envision Cash’s ass slapping against his groin over and again.

Dev took long, focused strides across his apartment into the bedroom, getting his sketch pad and pencils ready. He did his best work after getting off while high.

Some client was going to really appreciate his efforts tonight.

Cash’s cock inked on some unsuspecting person’s body. They’d never know it was there.

Maybe even on his own body.

The sharp rap of knuckles on the front door had Dev taking another hit as he went that way.

He exhaled as he opened the door, setting the mood right from the beginning.

Pretty boy stood there, fresh and clean like an angel.

Maybe the tattooed cock should have wings.

Like the one Keyes wanted.

“Want?” Dev asked, motioning the blunt toward him while opening the door wider and moving back into the living room. His other hand extended to the platter. “I’ve got party supplies. Take what you want.”

Cash looked at the offering in his hand then over at the tray.

His pause had Dev asking, “Wanna eat first?”

Pretty boy shook his head, lifted a bottle from the pack he held. “I’m not hungry. I’ll start here.”

As Cash went for the refrigerator, Dev absorbed every detail of the way the man moved. He was fluid, self-assured, yet oddly hesitant… Maybe he’d read the signs wrong. Disappointment crashed over him, immense and immediate. No reason to sugar-coat it. He needed to know.

“Did I read the signs wrong?”

His new tenant put the beers in the refrigerator, and Dev lifted the joint, taking another drag. He took a gummy off the tray and popped it in his mouth.

If he was fucking his fist tonight, at least being high would make it better.

“No,” Cash finally murmured and twisted the cap off his beer. With a knock of his foot, the refrigerator door was sent closed. Cash’s shoulders squared as he lifted the bottle, taking several deep gulps, his assessing gaze fixed on Dev the entire time.

If he read the vibe correctly, Cash took a moment to decide how far they were going tonight. The answer came with an expert flick of his thumb and index finger. The metal cap launched toward the sink, rattling as it landed, causing Dev to grin.

“A man after my heart. Want me to choose for you?” Dev nodded toward the tray.

“What do you have?” Cash asked after another pause before heading over for a closer look.

“Weed that’s guaranteed not to disappoint. It’s strong. The edibles are stronger. Ecstasy. I have some better shit if you’re interested,” Dev explained, staring shamelessly at Cash.

The spiced cologne Cash wore spoke of a complex man. The scent drew Dev closer. Fuck personal space.

“I get drug tested for work,” Cash hedged. The hesitation returned. Dev lifted the joint toward Cash’s lips. Then moved in even closer, inches from standing chest to chest.

“I have that taken care of too,” Dev whispered, his voice husky, full of need. Cash’s handsome look, strong jaw, and unguarded stare just did it for him.

Romance wasn’t anything Dev had ever had a notion to try. His brand of foreplay was adding a condom. Honestly, what else was there? But something deep inside him really liked what he saw. Someone fresh and polished. Maybe not as untouched by the world as Dev had originally thought Cash was.

Which still left lots of room for the devil inside him to spoil the goodness right out of Cash… Ruin him… Bring him to his knees to embrace the hints of chaos lurking inside the depth of the green stare.

Wasn’t that really what he did best?

He held the joint to Cash’s lips. Their eyes locked. Something hovering between them.

For Dev, his inner beratement stilled. The rapid-fire thoughts, the destructive energy all calmed.

“Try for tonight only.” Dev nodded, Cash did too, and parted his lips to take a hit.

As Cash drew in breath, Dev watched the way his lips gripped the paper. He was the pretty boy next door, his sexy hot tenant and neighbor. The kind of guy Dev watched from afar and never fully understood. The man that drew his attention, fascinated him. Life came easier to the Cash’s of the world.

Dev tucked his lip between his teeth and fisted his free hand to keep from reaching out to touch Cash as he pulled the blunt away.

“You know I’m gonna fuck the shit out of you tonight,” Dev said.

Cash destroyed the sexy moment by breaking into a coughing fit. Even having to step away and bend over as he coughed uncontrollably.

Not nearly as sexy as Dev gave him credit for.
