I shake my head. “Don’t ask me, I’m the worst person on this planet to ask for advice.”

“I think I have feelings for him—that’s so weird. I didn’t even know they were there until after.”

Falcon walks up to the bar, taps his fingers on it then looks to Tracey, who doesn’t care and just looks back to me. “You’ll answer tomorrow?” she asks hopefully.

I nod my head. “Yes. Come around, we can drink and eat, even ice cream.” She sighs in relief and wraps her arms around me. Letting go, I walk to Falcon who flings an arm around me.

“Can I come?” I look at him, confused. “But you have to wear what you have on today.” I roll my eyes before I push him away.

After saying our goodbyes, we step outside and into his car. He starts the engine and the blaring music begins. I reach for the knob to turn it down but he shoots me a death glare.

“Does Creed know I’m coming?”

He smiles sinisterly. And I know that’s my answer.

“Will he be there?” I ask him.

He turns the music up even louder and I reach out to turn it down.

“Falcon.”

“Why do you have to ruin all my fun?” he asks in a childish voice. “And no, he won’t be there until later. He’s out collecting women right now.”

“Collecting?” I ask confused.

“It’s his job, to collect women. As mine is to handle the money and find our customers.” He smiles. I knew they all had a certain job, and I loosely knew what Creed did as he mentioned it before, but I didn’t know for sure.

“Will he be mad?” I ask him. My hands twitch on the edge of my skirt.

“Possibly, but that’s the fun. He isn’t a ball of emotions, that’s why I do whatever possible to dig them out and play with them.”

Falcon comes to a stop in front of the club and I get out. Falcon heads off and I follow him inside and sigh in relief when I don’t spot Creed. I’m not sure if I can handle him right now, my courage needs to build first.

Creed

She’s perfect, better than expected really. She sits across from me with her legs crossed together as Nathan speaks, his hand sometimes resting on her leg. She doesn’t flinch, and I like that about her. Nathan sits there talking mostly about himself. He’s a high-end businessman, but a sneaky and deceitful one. Never would I grant him access to my club. But his women, on the other hand, I’ve taken two from him without him even knowing it. This one will be my third and I’m more than happy to take them from him. She stays perfectly still as he gropes her harder than he should. I’m sure he doesn’t pay her well enough for what he will do to her later on. The girls told me he was a pig.

Leaning in, he whispers to her then stands excusing himself. I sit there with her across from me. She looks me in the eyes, there’s no shame or intimidation in her at all.

“You enjoy what you do?”

She looks at me, shocked, as if I didn’t know what she does or why she’s with him. She uncrosses then re-crosses her legs. “Mostly.” She looks to where Nathan ‘the pig’ was sitting, then back to me and shrugs.

“I can offer you better. More hours, better pay than what he’s paying you. Or any of your customers for that matter.”

She sits up straight, eyeing me. “You’re him, aren’t you?”

I look at her waiting for an explanation.

“I’ve heard of you, most of the girls have. You have a reputation with the working girls. They call you our ‘dark angel,’ taking us from this life and putting us in a far better one.” She stands holding out her hand. “I’ll go. I’ll go right now if that’s what you want?”

I look to her hand confused. “There is a condition, and it’s not something we take lightly.”

“I can’t tell, anyone.” I nod. “I know. And yes, I agree.”

“How did you find out in the first place?”

She shrugs and I like that about her, that she doesn’t nark on the person who told her. I guess some of the girls who work the streets would know about me, I’ve taken quite a few and given them more than they could ever have wanted. More than what they would get working for themselves. Plus protection. That’s our main goal, to protect them. Most end up left for dead. The guys are bigger and stronger. Now they never worry about that seedy side. We take it all away, even have guys take them home to make sure they’re safe.

“You should leave, wait outside for me.”

She nods, getting up and walking out. Nathan comes back not long after, looks for his date then sits down.
