I need him with every single ounce of my being.

Need to be near him. Need to be in his gravity, sucked into his space.

I need the way he looks at me and touches me.

I need the way he loves and protects me and Levi.

Fuck, I think I may even love him.

I wanted to tell him, I almost told him so many times…

But it didn’t feel right.

Maybe when he gets home tonight?

After scribbling those little cocktail weenies down for Tampon on my list and doing my best not to giggle, I set the pad and pen on the counter.

“Second and last request,” I say, making a point to look hard at Hammy. “For the love of god, please stop calling me ma’am. I can’t stand it. I don’t know why, but it bugs the hell out of me.”

Poster Boy immediately starts to snicker and Hammy gets this dumbfounded look on his face.

“Okay?” I confirm and start to walk out of the kitchen to check on Levi.

He said he wasn’t hungry yet when I called the guys to the sandwiches, but he might be hungry now.

I reach the doorway before Hammy finally speaks up. “Um… ma’am?”

Instantly, I spin on my heel to scowl at him. “Hammy, please, I’m being serious. I don’t like it.”

Gulping, he nods his head. “I understand, but I can’t do that, ma’am.”

Is he purposely trying to piss me off? Is he antagonizing me so I act the bitch?

Maybe under that sweet gentleness is real asshole…

“Why can’t you do it?” I grit out, trying really hard not to snap.

Poster Boy bursts into laughter, tipping back in his chair. Tampon looks simply confused.

And Hammy looks like he’s going to puke again when he says, “The Pres ordered me to call you ma’am.”

I take a deep breath and try my best to keep my sudden anger out of my voice as I ask, “He did?”

Hammy nods his head slowly. “Yes,” he says then stops and cringes. “Ma’am.”

Oh Coy, you dirty, rotten, Royal Bastard…

I’m so going to get you back for that.

After tucking Levi into his own bed for the night, I walk through the house, doing little chores and trying to stay busy. I keep waiting for Coy to come home because it feels like he’s been gone for a long time.

Bored off my ass, I’m hoping he walks through the door soon.

Poster Boy, Hammy, and Tampon have grown more comfortable around me. They take turns watching the backyard and keeping an eye on the front.

I keep them fed and give them the remote so they can watch something besides Star Wars. They even chat with me a bit. Giving me little insights into the club and its dynamics.

And after our little talk in the kitchen, I feel completely comfortable and safe with them.

Even though Hammy keeps calling me ma’am, ugh…

When another twenty minutes passes and Coy still isn’t home yet, I decide to take a shower and get ready for bed. Once I’m clean, dressed in one of Coy’s metal shirts and a pair of his boxers, I wander out to ask the guys if they’ve heard anything from him.

They reassure me they haven’t, but he’s safe and everything’s fine.

Disappointed, I try not to let my shoulders slump as I walk back to the bedrooms.

I think this is the longest we’ve been separated since he grabbed Levi and me from my parent’s house.

It’s almost surprising how much I miss him.

I check one last time on Levi before heading to bed. Brushing a kiss across his forehead, I tuck the blankets tight around him and straighten to leave when I notice a strange sound coming from somewhere.

A light pinging sound.

Confused, it takes me a minute to hunt the sound down and discover it’s coming from Levi’s iPad.

Grabbing his iPad off the charger, I frown down at the lit-up screen showing he has an incoming FaceTime call from an unknown number…

Oh shit, is it Robert?

Hurrying out of his room, I run into mine and shut the door behind me as I slide the accept button.

Heart racing, I stare down at the screen, waiting for it to connect.

Crap. With everything going on I completely forgot about getting a new phone or trying to call him. He’s probably freaking out.

The call finally connects and Robert’s worried face appears on the screen.

I start apologizing right away, “Oh my god, Robert! I’m so sorry I haven’t—”

The picture suddenly changes on the screen as if the iPad is being rotated, showing a white wall, window, and doorway, before Mikhail’s angry face appears.

“Allison, my dear, it’s comforting to see you’re safe and well,” Mikhail sneers coldly. “I’ve been so worried.”

My entire body goes weak and I drop the iPad to the floor in shock.

No. No. No…

“Pick up the iPad, Allison,” Mikhail demands as I struggle to get a grip on myself.
