She giggled and quickly covered her mouth. “I have no idea where that came from.”

He placed a finger beneath her chin. “Give me those lips.”

There was a soft gasp, but she offered herself up to him, and he took control, possessing those lips, feeling them open under him, and he took full advantage, plunging his tongue inside.

Stroking the tips of his fingers down her back and going to her ass, he squeezed the plump flesh. When he pulled back, he started to work all over her body, moving toward her pussy but not daring to touch.

He moved upward, finally sinking his fingers into her hair. The stylist had added some curl and bounce to her hair, and it hung across one shoulder.

“You’re going to mess up my hair,” she said.

“I want to stay home and strip you naked. We could order takeout and not go to work tomorrow.”

She groaned. “That sounds so perfect, but you see, I’ve got this boss. He’s a little … controlling. This auction is so important to him and his company. I’d love to stay with you.”

He didn’t want her to meet his father.

The last thing Darius wanted to do was see the man himself without subjecting this beautiful, sweet woman to him.

Rose placed her hands on his chest. “However, that sounds like a lot of fun for Sunday.”

“We’re not working this weekend,” he said.

“Darius? You always work on a Saturday, and that means as my boss, I work as well.”

He didn’t want to. “Not this weekend. I can deal with whatever the office needs from my cell phone. This weekend, you are mine. We close the doors and we don’t allow anyone inside. Just you and me.”

There was so much he had to learn about this woman who had suddenly become the center of his life. Rose wrapped her arms around his waist and chuckled. “That sounds absolutely perfect. We’ve got to get through tonight, and then work tomorrow, and I’m all yours.”

He liked that.

“Are you nervous about tonight?” she asked.

“No. I’ll do what I usually do,” he said. “It’s all standard procedure.”

“You make it sound like it’s so simple.”

“Throwing money at things always is. People don’t care why you’re doing it, just how much you’re willing to donate.”

Rose rested her head against his chest, and he wrapped his arms around her, breathing her in. He didn’t want to let her go. The auction was going to be surrounded by a bunch of vultures, and tonight, he didn’t want to take his PA, but his woman, to announce to the world that she was all his.

“We’ve got to go,” Rose said. “The driver is waiting for us.”

Darius sighed. “You’re right. I can’t keep you to myself for much longer.” Easing his arms from around her, he cupped her cheek and pressed a kiss to her lips. “You look stunning tonight.”

“You look so handsome and sexy.”

He chuckled.

The best day of his life was the one when she walked into his office. “Come on.” He grabbed her hand, locking their fingers together, and made his way toward his door.

They took the elevator down to the main floor, and outside waited his limousine. He didn’t let go of Rose once, helping her inside the limousine and sliding inside to join her.

“Are you okay?” Rose asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

Staring out of the window overlooking the city, he wasn’t wowed by it, but then it had been years since he had enjoyed the allure of the city.

His cell phone beeped in his pocket, and still holding Rose’s hand, he used his other to reach for it.

A text from his sister waited.

She had yet to meet Rose, but his nephew Elliot had already talked about her incessantly.

The text was a warning that she heard their father was going to be at the auction. To be careful, and to not let him get under his skin.

Darius was all too aware of how dirty his father liked to play. He’d been the victim of it several times. This wasn’t news to him.

“Is everything okay?” Rose asked.

“It’s fine. My sister wants us both to have fun tonight. Speaking of my sister, this weekend, I want you all to myself, but I was thinking of you meeting her next week. I can arrange a meal for us all. We can either go to her, or she can come to us. Elliot will be there as well.”

“You want me to meet your sister?”

“Yes.”

“What if she doesn’t like me?” Rose asked.

“She’s going to love you. She already wants to meet the woman Elliot is talking about all the time.” He kissed her cheek. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll arrange everything.”

“I have no family for you to meet,” Rose said.

“Okay.” He didn’t know what to do or say.

“I’d like to meet your sister.”

He smiled, and there was no time for conversation as the limousine pulled onto the street where the auction was taking place.
