Thorne: Is everything okay?

Me: Everything is perfect. Cora handled it like a pro and both babies are great.

Thorne: Can we take a quick peek at them before we head home? Momma Bear is about to crawl out of her skin.

Me: Five minutes.

Thorne: Selfish bastard.

After sending him a middle finger emoji, I drop my phone onto the bedside table.

“Are Stella and Lillian okay?” Cora looks over at me with a tired smile on her beautiful face.

I glance down at my daughters and smile as my heart fills with happiness. “They’re absolutely perfect, just like their beautiful mother.”

“Liar,” my wife grumbles. “I look like something the cat dragged in.”

I carefully stand holding my two precious daughters close to my chest and walk over to sit on the edge of Cora’s hospital bed. Even with her hair sticking up in all directions and the dark circles under her eyes, she’s the most stunning sight I’ve ever seen. “You get more beautiful every time I look at you.” I lean over and place a kiss on her soft cheek as the hospital door opens behind us.

“Oh, come on,” Thorne growls from the doorway. “Let her have a five-minute break before you start working on number three.” Momma Bear smacks me on the head as my entire family strolls into the hospital room to meet our two daughters.

“Aren’t they beautiful?” Momma Bear coos down at Stella and Lillian. Then my mother gets a good look at the front of my t-shirt. I watch her eyes widen as she reads it then shakes her head sadly. “You are too much.”

“You are a fucking moron,” Thorne growls when he reads the front of my shirt.

“Watch your language,” four women hiss at the same time.

“What?” Confusion cuts through my brother’s eyes. “The babies are too young to understand.”

Papa Bear shakes his head sadly while glancing between his three sons. “I can see I have more to teach you boys.”

“Good luck with that,” Momma Bear grumbles and reaches for Stella. “I’ve never seen anything as hard as a Bearly boy’s head.”

“She really hit that nail on the head.” Mabel snorts and glances over at Cora.

When my mate’s laughing eyes meet mine, I hear her soft voice in my head. I wonder what hard head she’s talking about. As my laughter fills the hospital room, my family members look at me like I’ve lost my mind, but I don’t care. Life couldn’t get any better than this.
