"My name is Addie Sakis, I had a promising future once. I had my whole life planned out, but after that tragic day, everything changed. The world I coveted no longer existed. Ten years went by until one day when Daimon Evans, the boy who bullied me continuously in high school, reemerged back into my life, offering me all that I wanted in exchange for one thing....me."
Addie Sakis had a sad past, a past that overshadowed her future. She clung to it not knowing how to let it go. That was until Daimon Evans came back into her life challenging her and pushing her back to the fighter he knew still existed inside her. If only she knew that Daimon wasn't the devil she thought, but rather it was her demons that ruled her, the demons that lay inside her soul.
How far will Addie go to help her family? Which line won't she cross as she deals with the devil she calls Daimon?
Note from the Author: This is a dysfunctional love and hate trilogy that involves emotional blackmail and a few other situations that the one wouldn't do to the person they liked or loved. Addie and Daimon do what they do under the guise of a love that hurts so good. Happy Reading.
Once I finished with my graduation ceremony, I was gone forever from this hellish place. Elision Elite High School was in the middle of Manhattan where all the rich kids went. But this place wasn’t a place for me. I was a charity case. I was some poor kid who some rich guy paid to get in. I had won the Elision Elite scholarship when I was in elementary. I was so excited back then, thinking I finally was able to go to a school that challenged me. I was in the top of all my classes in elementary school. I surpassed every test given to me. Not that I was a genius, but I applied myself. My parents were immigrants, who moved here so we could have a better life. I knew how hard they had worked, so I had to work twice as hard to make their future lives better.

That was back then, when my naïve self was stupid enough to think brains mattered in this world. I realized quickly once I started high school, all that mattered were the rich and the opportunities they had for each other. Not one person there had a real friend at that school; everyone simply used each other to further their careers or family businesses.

Sure, I was at the top of my class, but it didn’t earn me any respect. I was bullied constantly, especially by one specific person.

Daimon Evans. His special attention only added to the amount of times I was picked on or tortured by the others. He never knew the extent of what had happened to me. My textbooks being stolen. My gym clothes being torn. Spoiled milk poured all over my locker. You name it and I went through it. Daimon threatened that no one was to touch me, that I was his special ‘project’ and no one else's. Those who feared him did it all behind his back to get to him. It bothered them more when I never told him what was happening, causing them to escalate their attempts. I did the best I could. I either ignored it or endured it. I did whatever it took to survive through high school. Every day I was subjected to sitting with him at his lunch table while he would mock my family and me. Saying poor charity cases like me shouldn't be here, but since I was, I should be taught the laws of the jungle. If we shared classes, I'd have to sit next to him; well, more like he'd force whomever to move so that he could sit. The teachers rarely got involved; money meant wealth, wealth meant power and the teachers weren’t about to poke the sleeping lions.

The funny thing was that when I first entered high school, I had always admired at Daimon, his long dark hair flowed wildly he never once wore his uniform properly. He looked dangerous and broken, with his light complexion, dark hair and stunning crystal blue eyes. I had fallen for him then and there. I kept my distance, loving him from afar, never wanting him to know. I had a serious schoolgirl crush. He never knew about me and rarely even looked my way as he hung out with his friends, acting out and laughing loudly no matter where they were.

That was until one day in our second to last year in high school. Daimon walked into class and headed straight for me, glaring at the girl who sat next to me, forcing her to move. He then sat down and stared at me the entire class period. Quiet murmurs could be heard the whole way through. His direct way of looking at me made me nervous. When class ended, I nervously put my things together and stood up to leave; that's when he tripped me. I fell hard on the ground, dropping my books. He stood and towering over me.

“From today on, you’re my little plaything. My toy.” He smirked and left me stupefied on the ground.

Daimon was known as ‘the bully’ in school. From then onwards my life became a living nightmare. Day in and day out, I was at Daimon’s beck and call. He'd humiliate me in front of everyone and would laugh about it, until finally it was the last day of school and all of this would end.

***

“Hey Addie.” I knew it was Daimon, only he would consistently bother me especially when I avoided him the most. The ass was following me through the hallway. I moved through the crowd, trying hard to get away from him.

“ADDIE…ADDIE…ADDIE!” He kept yelling out my name through the hallway. Man, the guy was a jerk. I stopped running, knowing it wouldn’t get me anywhere. If anything, it would only make it worse.

“Is what true?” I asked, hoping she was alluding to something else.

“Some girl from my humanities class just came up to me and told me you were marrying Daimon Evans. She said he does business with her dad and they received an invitation and that I was mentioned in the announcement in the New York Times,” Sofia rambled nervously. I watched as she chewed at her bottom lip waiting for me to answer.

“I’m sorry, kiddo. I should have told you sooner, but with all that has happened, well, it kind of slipped my mind.” I shrugged, not knowing what else to say to her. What could I tell her? Daddy just got an operation and I had no money to pay for it? Or should I have told her I sold myself? What?

“Addie! Why didn’t you tell me? I don’t like him!” she cried out. That makes two of us.

“Sofia, I wouldn’t be marrying him if I thought he was a bad person. You have to give me credit for knowing what I want out of life,” I snapped at her, not realizing I was losing my temper. If she only knew she was one of the main reasons why I was marrying him.

“What else are you keeping from me?” she asked angrily.

“Why?” I asked, worried the girl from her humanities class might have told her more than I did.

“The diner and Dad? Tell me, Addie, is everything okay?” Sofia asked anxiously as she fidgeted in her seat.

God, this girl was too observant for her own good. Why couldn’t she be self-absorbed like most girls her age?

“Dad got worse, and well, he had to have an operation. Everything is okay, better than okay. He’s no longer sick. Sofia, you’ll be so happy when you see him. He even gained weight.” I attempted throwing as much information at her before she completely lost me.

“What do you mean, Dad had an operation?” she began to cry, her eyes widened and lips quivered. Not exactly the response I wanted.

“Dad collapsed a while back, and well, the doctors said he needed the operation desperately. Once he got the operation, he became a million times better,” I smiled, trying to reassure her. Ever since Sofia left for school, I tried keeping most of it from her, wanting her to focus on herself and her studies.

“The diner?” She sniffled a little.

“I had to sell it. I needed to pay for Dad’s operation,” I lied. Sofia’s mind was at work; she wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and straightened up.

“But the diner was in debt. How could you—? Never mind, are you seriously marrying Daimon next week?” she asked again. Sofia wasn’t the least bit pleased by anything I’d told her. I loved my little sister to death, but she drove me crazy with her constant questions, but like me after our mother’s death, we changed. The way Sofia dealt with things was with direct questions or complete avoidance. If she didn’t like the answers, she avoided it vehemently.

“Yes and you have to be there. Daimon said he’d drive you in and out so you won’t be missing school,” I smiled. Yale wasn’t far and I would need her to be here with me.

“Addie…”

“Just be happy for me, please?” I wanted her probing to stop. I was worried if she pushed any further, I might just tell her everything. “Dad’s here. Do you want to speak to him?” I knew she’d want to see him, and it was a perfect excuse to get away from her and this conversation.

“Yeah, I want to see him,” she replied, choked up.

I smiled and called out for my father. He waved the moment he saw her and started asking about Yale, but Sofia wasn’t having any of that; she wanted to know how he was doing. He pointed at his belly and smiled. “Don’t I look great? I'm finally fat.” He smiled and I laughed.

My phone chimed. I picked it up but didn’t recognize the number. Opening the text message, the sender introduced herself as Jessica; apparently, my wedding planner. She asked to speak to me as soon as possible. I looked nervously at my phone not fully knowing the whirlwind events that were just waiting for me on the other side. I left my room and the conversation that my father and Sofia were having and let out a heavy sigh. Pressing the number attached to the message, it rang out.

“Yes, Ms. Sakis, this is Jessica Somer. I’m your wedding planner extraordinaire,” she gushed. She sounded like a take charge type of person.

“Yes, how are you?” I asked shyly, wanting nothing more than to run and hide away from the call and all it entailed.
This is the third and final installment of the Devil Trilogy
Addie is lost as she tries to move forward with her life, but when unexpected events occur taking her to Europe, Addie is finally able to experience the life she had always dreamed of. However without Daimon by her side, Addie is unable to fill the void that he left in her heart.
Will Addie be able to find the strength to reenter Daimon's life
or has their twisted and dark romance finally met its end?
Note from the Author: This is a dysfunctional love and hate trilogy that involves emotional blackmail and a few other situations that the one wouldn't do to the person they liked or loved. Addie and Daimon do what they do under the guise of a love that hurts so good. Happy Reading.
Thank God! My father was not too pleased with me showing up that night, but he would be leaving soon. He booked his ticket and couldn’t cancel it. I didn’t tell anyone what really happened between Daimon and I. Elissa and I barely saw each other while Sofia and I hardly Skyped. I didn’t want everyone and their opinions about Daimon and I to confuse me anymore then I was already. Daimon stayed away from me, just as he said he would. I thought he couldn’t, but he did. Not once did he call or text me. I should have been angrier than I was. I should have wanted us to end. He had hurt and manipulated me to be his. Daimon didn’t understand anything of what he had done. He just did what he wanted, not caring an ounce about how I felt, or what this would do to me.

“Addie?” my father called out as the taxi waited to take him to the airport.

“Yes, Dad?”

He looked so excited that he made me smile for the first time in a month. “I’m going now, but I want you to know I’m proud of you for getting into university. I know you will do well,” he said as he reached out and hugged me. “As for Daimon…” I tried to push my father away, but he held me close to him. “He loves you. Please try to work it out.” My father hugged me tighter.

I knew I didn’t want anyone knowing why I got married to Daimon, but had everyone known, then they would have agreed to me leaving him.

“Bye, Dad, and make sure you have a safe trip. Call me the moment you get there. I don’t care what time it is,” I warned.

“Okay, Addie.”

Here I was standing on 44 West and 4th Street New York in Greenwich Village, in front of the Stern School of Business. This was beyond my wildest dreams. I honestly never thought I would get into the MBA program, but I had. I headed inside and saw students rushing in and out of the corridors. It took a while, but I finally found my class. I walked in and everyone was already somewhat seated. I sat in the front row, not one to shy away from a professor, let alone an education. I wanted this. This was my new start.

The professor walked in, no bullshitting with him; he went straight to work not bothering with anything other than who he was and our syllabus. Mr. Mitchell was a straight-laced fifty year old, who wore a business suit. He eased off his suit jacket the moment he introduced himself and stood tall in front of the lecture room. His silver hair and well-trimmed beard made him appear fussy and overtly anal. He went right to work, explaining that MBA students don’t screw around. I thought I would be overwhelmed with all the information, but I wasn’t. It did help that I bought my textbooks earlier and read through them before class even started. Thankfully, I wasn’t the oldest one here, but then again, university wasn’t about age but about an education. My education. Class ended without me realizing that two hours had passed.

Done was the first day of my MBA. I figured since my dad was gone, I should at least eat something before heading home. All my plans fell out the window once I stepped out the main building. There leaning up against his car was Daimon. His arms were crossed. Wearing only a light green colored t-shirt and a pair of worn-out jeans, my heart stopped and my belly dropped. I watched as everyone rubber necked looking at Daimon as they walked by. Both Daimon and I stood there, neither one of us moving; his faint little smile which was there a moment ago disappeared. He pushed himself off the car and headed to where I was.

“Addie.” Never could I forget his low, rough voice and the special way he would say my name.

“What are you doing here?” I asked, not too pleased with myself for being happy to see him.

“It’s your first day at university. Do you honestly think I would miss it?” he said softly.

“What do you want, Daimon?” I ignored his question, touched at how he thought of me.

“I’m here to ask you out,” he answered. I avoided looking into his eyes. Only because I was afraid I would stupidly fall back into his arms.

“Like a date?” I questioned.

“Yeah a date. I want to date you.”

“So, now you want to date?” I said rather harshly as I looked at him through my skeptical eyes. Daimon lowered his shoulders and let out a heavy sigh.

“I know I fucked it all up, but I want to try to make it better. I want to be with you and this is the only way I could think of without crossing too many lines again,” he said ruefully.
