Brooklyn : Kings of New York Series

Deja

I still remember the day Cole went from being just my best friend’s brother to being the man I couldn’t stop dreaming of. Before that day I never thought of him that way or thought I stood a chance.

However, to my surprise he whispered his secret in my ear right before his older brother pulled him away. After that night I thought things would happen between us, but they disappeared and my life changed forever.

Now, here he is. Looking for me as if I’m the one lost. I want to ignore him, but I don’t know if I can. That is until I let him in only to get burned.

Brooklyn

My sister’s best friend has always had me in the palms of her hands. Her name is tattooed on my heart and ever present on my lips. She’s crazy for thinking I could ever want anyone other than her.

There has never been a way to hide how I feel. I thought I could but quickly found out I wasn’t hiding a thing. My brother and grandfather knew from the start.

That’s why they hid her from me without saying a word. I’ve always been a danger to her because if she’s around I want to be near her.

There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for DJ. She’s my one addiction. My obsession. The one I’ve started a war for. The one I’ll protect with my life.

Her presence in my life has always been explosive. Why would that change now? After all, we love playing with fire. We both know how to handle the heat, but will we understand how to handle being King and Queen?

*This a Novel in the Kings of New York Series, a spinoff from the bestselling, award-winning series Legally Bound that introduced LaSalle, Brooklyn, Logan, and Misha. While you can read this book as a standalone, it will enhance the read to Blue’s books in the provided book order. Blue Saffire’s books are written to weave, loop, and intertwine with one another. You will find that the series builds together for a greater experience.

This is the read order for the best experience

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

I can love you through time, but can time move through our love?

―BLUE SAFFIRE

PREFACE

Wedding Blast

Deja

I stand in the mirror looking at myself in my wedding gown. This is one of three. One for tonight and two for ….

I turn as Tasha places a hand on my forearm. She looks me in my eyes with concern. I already know what she’s thinking.

I’m okay with this.

“I have so much respect for you. You know I love you like a sister, right?” she says as she holds my face between her hands while she presses her forehead to mine as we stand in the bridal suite the girls created for me here at the manor in Dublin.

“I love you too. I’m doing nothing you guys wouldn’t do for me.”

“I thought LaSalle was lying when he told me what you two planned to do. You and Brooklyn were made for each other.

“This is crazy. Balls to the wall doesn’t have to be your preset. We could have handled this a different way. We still can,” she replies, looking me deep in my eyes.

“What fun would that be? Besides, I know a little boy who says this is the way. I get two, one covered in red, the other in white. Irish bells toll for death, wedding bells ring on a Scottish night,” I repeat the words Sammy told me.

Tasha sighs. “But the blue eyes haunt the night as she stands out of sight. Yeah, yeah, the boy was singing the same thing all last night.”

“That bitch is making my ass itch. I can’t wait for Misha to pull a blade across her throat,” Misha’s wife says.

“You and me both,” Tasha mumbles.

“This will bring us closer to the end. Ya wait and see.”

“This should all be over already. Enough is enough. Haven’t we sacrificed enough? This isn’t right,” Pam says.

“Everyone will be safe. The children and our families will be protected. I have done everything to make sure everything happens as I was told,” Sim says.

“I know ya have, love. Breathe, ladies. I know what I’m in for. Ye all are taking the joy out of me wedding day. Please, can we finish getting me ready?”

“Your wedding day,” Tasha snorts. “How are you so calm? I told LaSalle you were crazy.”

She rolls her eyes and snorts. “He laughed at me. Then he told me to think about who your best friend is.”

“Hey, stop trying to act like you don’t live in Crazy Town with the rest of us. You might hide it well, but you live right on our street and have tea parties with us every week,” Val says from behind me as she fixes my veil.

“Shops with me often,” Dean sings as she sits with a huge gift box resting on her lap.

“I know that’s right,” Val says.

“DJ, this is for you. Will you come open it?” Dean says, pointing to the box with a huge smile on her face.

I turn and go to sit next to her in the spot she pats beside her. She helps me slide the box into my lap. With excitement coursing through me, I lift the lid off the gift.

“You didn’t think we would let you do this without the right equipment, now did you?” Dean says.

“But how—”

“I might have let it slip that you asked me for adjustments. Not to Cole, but I was talking to Val and Tasha as they made the same request and ...” Sim trails off and begins to chew on her lip.

“I’m glad she did say something. We all know you ain’t shit with two Glocks in your hands.”

I glare at Val and roll my eyes. I’m not even going to go there with her about this again. Not everyone can be freaking John Wick. I get things done when it counts. We all know this.

“This is your something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” Dean says ignoring the rest of them.

“Borrowed? How is it borrowed or blue?”

Dean lifts the rifle with the airholes from the box as if weighing it in her hands. “It’s borrowed because this is one of my favorites. I want it back. It’s new and blue because Lovie modified the trigger. Making it old but with a little something new. It still works like a dream, trust me.”

I take the rifle and examine the matte-blue-finished trigger. Lovie never fails to amaze me. This is a work of art.

“Well, I say yer ready to get married, ya are,” Laoise says.

I look to Dean’s mother-in-law and smile. She gets me. One is enough.

Brooklyn

“Do you, Cole O’Brien, take this woman to forever be the love of your life?” Uncle Joe says.

I grin at the words Deja and I decided to use for this night. They suit us and who we are. As I look down into her brown eyes, my heart fills with so much love for her.
Touchdown

***This is a Standalone
Award winning, Bestselling, Author Blue Saffire presents

Touchdown
Bentley

When I step on the field I know what my job is. Get my team to the red zone and get the touchdown. I’m great at what I do on the field.
However, off the field I’ve been struggling, doing my best to find my way. Especially when it comes to Zah, I’ve always managed to mess things up with her.
She’s the girl next door who has always had my heart. I just never acted on my feelings because she’s two years younger than me and my sister’s best friend.
Then my Junior year of college she shows up on campus and everything changes. She becomes the love of my life. Our future is all planned out by my senior year and I feel invincible until the hits start coming and don’t stop.

Zahirah
I’ve loved Bentley Coswell since I was a little girl hanging out with his sister, getting on his nerves. I never said anything and hadn’t planned to until that one summer when I was pretty sure he was going to kiss me.
One almost kiss and I made up my mind to follow him to college. I worked my butt off to get my track scholarship. However, my first day on campus wasn’t what I thought it would be.
The boy I’ve crushed on for forever has changed and I don’t think I like him very much. That is until he wears me down and takes me on my first date.
I fall in love with Bentley all over again and everything is perfect until it’s not. No one could have told us how much life would place on our shoulders.

Will we be able to handle the life altering events we face? Will love be enough to carry us through? Will our hurt and pain be enough to take the life right out of our love? Will our love be intercepted by hate or will Bentley find a way to run right into my heart for the Ultimate touchdown

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Life will hit you hard. Love can hit you harder as it heals.

―BLUE SAFFIRE

CHAPTER 1

The Return

Bentley

I walk out of the tunnel onto the field and inhale the scent of the freshly cut grass. So many memories wash over me. Though the stadium is currently empty, I can hear the roar of the crowd like it’s my first game all over again.

I’ve had a great career. It’s the one thing in my life I’ve done almost perfectly. My personal life, not so much. I’m still making mistakes there. However, when I’m out on this field, I have it all together. I know where I fit and what I’m supposed to do.

My heart belongs in the end zone. That moment when I get my team in the red zone gets my blood pumping every time. Getting close to scoring is as heady as making the touchdown.

I wish I could apply the rules on the field to my life. Heck, I wish I at least knew the rules to play by. Maybe then I’d know how to get this right once and for all.

My biggest dream was to get to the pros. I did that despite all the obstacles that got in the way.

The one thing I didn’t see coming was her. I should have. She has always been there.

Zahirah Nickels was the girl next door. Being an only child, my family drew her into our crew. I’m the oldest of six.

As much time as Zah spent at our house, I should say I’m the oldest of seven. Zahirah and my sister Erica became friends almost from the moment they met. As a result, Zahirah became a fixture in our home.

“Hey, mister.” I turn to look down at the little boy peering up at me.

“You’re Bentley Coswell, right?”

I squat to get eye level with the little guy. His green eyes light up in his little face. Reaching out, I ruffle his blond hair.

“That’s me, kid,” I say.

His eyes grow wider. He’s a cute kid. I can only hope to have my own someday who is just as cute as he is.

“Can you sign my football. You’re my favorite. I want to be a quarterback too when I make it to the pros.”

“Sure, of course,” I say and take the ball he has tucked under his arm. “Love the confidence, kid. Never let go of that. What’s your name, little guy?”

“Sean.”

“Nice to meet you, Sean.”

“You’re coming home, right? I mean, you’re here to win us a championship. My dad says we can do it with you here. I think he’s right. Besides, I hate rooting for you when you play against us.”

I burst into laughter. Signing the ball, I hand it back to him and ruffle his hair again. I give him a wink.

“Can you keep a secret?”

He nods his head and mimics zipping his lips and throwing away the key. I stifle more laughter. This is the lightest I’ve felt since stepping off the plane.

“That’s the plan. While I’m here to visit with family, we’re looking to see if this is a fit for me. I might just get you that win.”

“You will. I can see it. You’re going to deliver the game-winning touchdown too,” he says excitedly.

“Thanks for the support, bubby.”

He gives a sage nod. I look up to see Christian Darity, an offensive lineman the team has been trying to re-sign in order to entice me. He places a hand on the boy’s head and looks down at him.

The boy looks up at him with a smile. “Hey, Dad. Look, it’s Bentley Coswell.”

“I hope he’s not giving you any trouble,” Christian says.

“Not at all, man. He may have sealed the deal for the organization,” I chuckle and stick my hand out for him to shake.

We shake hands and he grins. This team has done a lot to get me to sign. Christian was on my list of players it would take to get me to come here.

“That’s good to hear. The ink is just drying, but I’m hoping to play with you this coming season. You were a big deciding factor for me.”

“Yeah, I was amped to hear they were in talks with you for a new contract. They’re putting together a strong squad. It’s kind of hard not to consider taking the leap.”

“Do you mind if I ask what’s stopping you?”

I pull a hand down my face, then fold my arms across my chest. Placing my weight on my right leg, I try to figure out the best way to say this. I want to come home.

It’s long overdue. My family has been through so much and it’s time I get my shit together to be there for them. My mom’s words exactly.

“I’ve made a lot of mistakes. I don’t want this to be another one. Coming home might not be the right thing to do,” I say.
Ciara

I can’t remember much from before the accident that killed my mother. I have these dreams that show me glimpses of that day. Those dreams and my little brother are all I have left.

My stepfather and his children have never treated me or Ciarán like we belong. We’re more like slaves they gained with the loss of my mom. When Theo’s son Sean goes too far, I risk it all and end up in New York for a chance at a new life.

The huge blond with the mesmerizing smile that tickles my brain is the last thing I expect or want to find when I get there but he’s determined to protect me like I’m his.

Dylan
At ten, when I made that promise, I planned to keep it. I didn’t know my family would move away and keep me from ever seeing her again. It’s been my goal to make my way back home for good.

Ireland is where I should be. If I’m there she’ll come back to me. The problem is, I’m not safe there on my own and my family refuses to allow me to return.

I’ve been training and fighting to make the money to go on my own. Logan and Brooklyn would kill me if they knew I’ve been in the underground rings for more than business. I go through a lot to keep my brothers off my back. Too bad Uncle Ronan and his right hand know me so well they know exactly how I move.

Then she walks back into my life and everything changes. I thought it was a dream the first time. Then she walked into my gym. Felix couldn’t find her for me, but fate brought her right where she belongs. This time I’m not letting her go and I’ll beat the shit out of anyone who says otherwise.

Can our secrets tear us apart? Will my family have my back when the truth is revealed?
Ronan

I sit with Danny standing between my legs as she blow-dries my hair while finger combing it. I have my hands on her waist as I smile to myself. Knowing she’s carrying our child has me on a high.

“What are you smiling at?” She smiles down at me.

“I’ve missed ya. Can’t yer husband be happy to see ya?”

She leans in and pecks my lips. “You’ve been driving everyone crazy. You think I haven’t heard about you?”

I grin back at her. “What have ya heard?”

“Anika moved because you were at her door nearly every day.”

“Ach, if ya think I be the reason she took off, I don’t think yer the full shilling at all, so it is. We need to have yer noddle checked, we do.”

She bursts out laughing at me. Her face brightens with the gesture. My heart fills with so much love as the sound rings out.

“God, I’ve missed your voice. Okay, you’re right. I’ve heard about what’s been going on with her.

“Still, Lyric has been seconds off getting a restraining order against you. You’ve been at his office at least once a week. Thank God, Logan and LaSalle put a stop to that before you ruined his campaign.

“You’ve even been to Ireland to harass your mother, thinking she was hiding me out. I’ve heard a lot,” she says with a rueful smile on her lips.

“Ya think I don’t know that she was at some point?” I lift a knowing brow.

Ma and Da did have her there with them during the first week or two. That’s where I lost track of her. The way Ma laid into me told me my wife had been there.

Danny sighs. “She’s going to kill me when she sees me.”

“I doubt that. Yer her favorite.”

She snorts. “The only thing that might save me is the baby. I had to leave without a word. I knew she was trying to keep me there until you arrived.”

I roar with laughter. “Okay, ya might be right. Although she wouldn’t rat ya out once ya were gone. So ya might still have her favor.”

“We’ll see.”

I run my hands up her sides and then back down again. She bites her lip as I move my hands to palm her full ass then squeeze. Lifting from my seat, I look her in the eyes as I lean in to take her lips.

She moans as I groan and kiss her deeply while now hovering over her. The slacks to the suit I’ve changed into begin to become tight. I want my wife again. Her pregnant pussy feels too grand to ignore.

“Ro, baby. We’re going to miss the entire wedding.”

I groan and place my forehead to hers. “I can name at least two more weddings that will be here, not including ours.” A smile comes to my lips as I think of the vow renewal we were planning before she took off. “After all his planning and fussing, Ryan won’t know we’re missing.”
Kings of New York Book 1
Award-winning, Bestselling, Author Blue Saffire presents

Kings of New York Series

Ronan

Since the day the lass landed on Irish soil, she has done my head in. She’s the friend of my nephew’s bird. For that reason, I told myself to keep my distance. However, I made one mistake.

It was one kiss but everything about her has haunted me since. After years of pain and loss, I want to breathe again. I want to start something new.

However, I should be focused on the family’s business. Especially now that the Alliance is coming to life and my da has asked me to stand right in the middle of it.

Dean

I needed to get away. All my life I’ve given my all and my trust was broken over and over again. Friends, family, colleagues—they’ve all done me dirty.

Life has taught me money can’t buy you love, but it will purchase plenty of enemies. I’m tired of being treated like a non-factor with no feelings. Just a pocket for others to reach in or a resource to be used. Lakia and Kaye have proven to be real ones but I keep even them at arm’s length and away from my truth.

I don’t need anyone else in my life, I don’t want to let anyone else in. Especially not the older, sexy redhead who has a way with words and skills that could melt your bones from your body.

So how in the world do I end up married to the same persistent man? He’s not going to let me go. Frankly, I’m tired of running. It has only stolen from me more than the situations I’ve run from.

What will happen when she allows our worlds to collide? How will we handle the truth? Can we survive all the drama thrown our way or will it be better to give up?

*This a Novel in the Kings of New York Series, a spinoff from the bestselling, award-winning series Legally Bound that introduced LaSalle, Brooklyn, Logan, and Misha. While you can read this book as a standalone, it will enhance the read to Blue’s books in the provided book order. Blue Saffire’s books are written to weave, loop, and intertwine with one another. You will find that the series builds together for a greater experience

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

You can’t move forward while looking back.

Never be afraid to go for what’s yours.

―BLUE SAFFIRE

PREFACE

Building the Table

Ronan

Ten years ago …

“It’s good to see ya,” Logan croons as I pull him into a hug.

“Aye, it’s been a while. Ya know ya don’t need to have business to say hello to yer oul uncle.”

“Aye, I know. In my defense, it’s hard to keep track of ya.”

I chuckle and give him a pat on the back. From the twinkle in his eyes, I know he’s full of shit. I get it. He has a full plate, as I do.

“I’m never too hard to find.”

The O’Briens are more like my kin by blood than by marriage. I have respect for their da and ma. Mick O’Brien, or Dougie as those close to him know him as is a real stand-up lad. Now that oul bag of dust he calls a da is another story.

I wouldn’t piss on Oland O’Brien if he was on fire and holding my last dollar to pay my way out of hell. I believe his son and grandsons have come to feel the same way. In fact, I’m sure that’s the case.

Logan is within his rights to step up and run the Black clan in Scotland. Being older than Joe Black’s boys, that honor has fallen to him. Finlay Black, Joe and Athena’s older brother never had children. Now that Ian Black is gone, Finlay is sure to hand things over to Logan when he steps down.

Joe Black has always had other plans for his brood. I think my sister has had a lot to do with that. Cassie knows who we McGowans are. It’s what has made her tough.

However, she has seen firsthand what being a McGowan means. The same goes for being recognized as a Black in Scotland. I have no doubts my nephews would be able to handle themselves on this side of our world.

Braxton, in particular, would do just fine. He has the temperament of a McGowan. However, all seven of Cass’s boys are living the life we’ve all wanted for them.

“It’s good to see you, Ronan,” Sam, or should I say LaSalle, says.

I grin. Now here is the reason Dougie and Logan haven’t told Oland to piss off. This kid has had a sharp mind from the first time I met him. His uncle has great hopes and dreams for him.

I have always gotten the feeling that my da, Ian Black, and Don Alfanzo Locatelli have been moving pieces around for a greater purpose. When my older brother Johan asked me to come meet with these two for da, I got that feeling once again. There is a bigger picture to be seen here.
You will find that the series build together for a greater experience.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

At the end, can you say you gave it your all?

Yes? Then you earned it.

―BLUE SAFFIRE

PREFACE

From the Shadows

Michael

Opening my pocket watch, I step from the shadows. The asshole lying in the bed before me lets out a gasp. It’s a familiar sound. One I have grown to expect.

I expect it almost as much as I expect the fear that begins to permeate the room. It’s always the same. To them, I’m the man who makes them hush. They don’t know that I’m only a carbon copy of him.

My brother has trained me to be just like him. Or at least that was his initial plan. I’ve become like him, but I’m the subdued version. I bring the sound of peace before I end it all in a hush.

I lift my finger and place it over my lips. It’s his only warning of what’s to come other than the knowledge of who he believes I am. I then wink at him as a smile comes to my lips.

He deserves this. You don’t order a hit on the wife of another man and think it will be as simple as going to bed and having a good night’s sleep every night. He chose the wrong man and that has consequences.

“Shh,” I hiss quietly.

As “Für Elise” plays, I lift my gun with the silencer on the end and pull the trigger. As soon as his brains are covering the headboard and sheets around him, I turn, close my watch, and take my leave as if I were never here.

I have done what I came here for. I turned off his clock. His time has come to an end.

As I climb into my car, I pull my phone and send a text to my brother to let him know the job has been completed. As I await his reply, I open a picture I was sent earlier this evening. I smile as I run my finger over the screen.

“You’re doing so well. I couldn’t be prouder of you. It’s better this way,” I whisper.

My phone buzzes with my brother’s reply. I grin and nod. All in a good night’s work.

Uri: Record timing. Well done.

Me: I am heading for the plane.

Uri: Take some time for yourself. I’m still smoothing things out here for you. You have other problems to solve as well.

I sigh and lean my head back. He hasn’t told a lie. I have many things to think about and fix.

I can’t move forward until I deal with the past. However, it’s hard to deal with something when you don’t know where to begin. I’m a problem solver, but this problem seems to have no solution.

“Not one I can see,” I mutter to myself.

Shaking my head, I start the car and head for my flight. I took this job as a way to run from all I had on my plate. I don’t know that it’s time to take Uri up on his suggestion. I still question so much and still have no answers.

CHAPTER 1

You’re my Brother

Michael

I promised Nico and Annabella that when I turned eighteen, I would find our older brother. I might be the youngest, but I’m skilled at finding people and things when I want. I wasn’t sure if it would happen at first.

Then my mother started to act odd during certain times of the month. I decided to follow her to see where she was going and why she would return looking so upset. As if she had lost someone or her heart had been broken.

I never thought she would lead me right to my brother’s doorstep. I’ve known where to find Uri for a month now. I’ve been working up the courage to meet him face to face.

“You can do this. Just follow him and tell him who you are,” I mumble to myself as I follow him up this dark, secluded street.

I’m in awe of Uri. I’ve been following him since I found my mother with him. Once she returned home, I followed his every move. I have learned a lot about my brother.

His life is very different from ours. He is connected to a lot of dangerous men. I can’t help but think about how different my life could have been if I had been raised by whoever raised him.

Anything other than being raised by Roberto Zuko had to be better. I still don’t understand why Uri has been kept away from us. Nico and Anna remember him more than I do.

I was only one year old when our father was killed, but I do remember there being one more of us. I remember him playing with me as I learned to walk and then he was just gone.

“Why are you bloody following me?”

The sound of a gun cocking as it’s pressed to the back of my head fills my ears seconds before the cold steel placed flush against my head registers in my skull. I close my eyes and freeze. How did he get behind me?

―BLUE SAFFIRE

CHAPTER 1

Drowning

Cameron

I’m wide awake. Too much on my mind to fall asleep. Sitting up against my headboard, I reach for my phone and open my text messages.

I stare at the name of the person I want to text but hesitate. This could cause a bigger problem for my marriage. I close my eyes and blow out a breath.

It’s not like I can sit and do nothing. After all I’ve done to get here, I’m not going to allow some bullshit to come along and tear it all apart. I spent too much time second-guessing myself and what I wanted out of life.

Not knowing if friendship was enough to hold love together. Then learning, while it can be, it’s also not. Yet again, my character is being challenged.

It was so easy to point my twin brother’s shit out to him, but here I sit, looking at a big fucking problem and not knowing if this should be my next move.

I shake my head and go to close the app. However, my baby girl whimpers and shifts in the bed beside me. I look down at my little girl and smile.

She looks so much like a mix of her mother and me. Placing my phone down, I then lie back down and reach to brush my finger over my little girl’s silky curly locks. Inhaling her sweet baby scent, I allow myself to relax.

Placing a hand over her chest, I listen to the silence of the room while her little heartbeat hums through my palm. I didn’t know I wanted a daughter so much until she was placed in my arms for the first time. Rage fills me as I think of how the opportunity to have her was almost taken from me.

“Fuck this,” I mutter and sit back up.

I grab the phone and open the app again. This time I tap on the contact I’m looking for. I start the message, but my wife begins to toss and turn beside me and our daughter.

I freeze once again. As a man, I want to believe I’m about to do the right thing. Someone’s heart will be broken one way or the other.

However, I’m not responsible for everyone’s happiness. It took too long to understand that. I never want to cause that type of pain again, but that means dealing with this bullshit once and for all.

I sigh and toss the phone down. Still undecided on what I want to do. I climb from the bed and lift my daughter to place her in the crib. I’m going for a run to clear my head.

Once my baby girl is in her crib, I tug on a pair of basketball shorts and my sneakers. Next, I grab my arm strap for my phone. I stick my earbuds in my ears and head out of the house.

When I get to the sidewalk, I pull out my phone to find a song that speaks to my mood. I grunt when I come across the perfect song. “Crazy” by 50 Cent fits every feeling I have at the moment.

The song starts as I place my phone back in the strap. I get lost in the beat and take off down the block. We live in a nice community, not far from Caleb and Nicole.

It had been harder than I thought to be separated from my brother. So many times in my life, I’ve questioned my decisions. The one thing I can say I’m sure of is the support I’ve always given to Caleb.
**** This book does end on a cliffhanger. Book 4 will be released soon.
Award winning, Bestselling, Author Blue Saffire presents

King of Tides

Billy

My father had four children. I was one of the three he gave up. Growing up in foster care was no cake walk for me. I eventually knew it was better for me to runaway. Growing up I learned a lot about the man, who was my donor. Which has lead me to my career as a detective.

My neighbor is hot AF. However, he’s off limits because of my job. Every time I see him in that cut with those well fitting jeans, I wish things could be different.

The last person I expect to come to my rescue one morning is my biker neighbor who’s a potential suspect.

The connection between us is undeniable. I have no idea why I can’t get my brain to kick in to say no. Then, I learn why I will never tell him no. I was made to be his.

Ardan

Something has changed. She’s lived next door for a year and I didn’t know she was my mate.

She’s gorgeous, but she’s human so I’ve never pressed her.

I was in her apartment last night helping her with her water pressure. The fever should have started then or well before, but when they come for her, I’m there and the fever is fierce for us both.

Now, I have my mate and life should be good, but we need to learn how to be one. Something is always in the way, but I’m determined to love my mate and see her happy.

Just as I think we’ve made it there, these hunters are declaring war. If they want war. Okay, I run from no one and my mate has become a lethal weapon they should have left alone. You feel me.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

Be the tide that sets the motion.

―BLUE SAFFIRE

Changing Tides

Balance is yet another word humans use without the full comprehension of the term. It is understandable as they have not grasped that as it is below, so is it above. Everything is a reflection.

I’ve created the sky to reflect the ocean and vice versa. Moisture is the balance of the earth, air, and sea. They flow as one to create the balance of the whole—to keep humans complete. You cannot have one without the other.

The clouds are but a reflection of the rolling ocean and turbulent sea. A way for the gods to look at their true selves and see the truth that brings them back to themselves. Balance—a measure of the emotions we allow to go unkept.

The tides roll in and crash upon the sands as a reminder of our existence. It can be a force that drags everything out into the deep, or it can force the creation of more grains of sand and life. The driving force behind the ecosystem that makes up the sea creatures Su-Vaha created and so loves.

Tides provide an energy of their own that, when mastered, harnesses a current of its own that’s unstoppable. From the moment I looked into my third son’s eyes, I knew he would master true power, strength, and the ability to harness this balance.

However, control of the mirrors of the gods is something to be shared and not burdened on the shoulders of one. I chose the one who would be that balance. I was ready to help him shoulder that burden.

My sons have been on an odyssey of their mother’s and my creation. This journey has brought them pain, and at times, they have returned the favor. Habun and I have many wrongs to right.

Just because one is absent does not mean their love isn’t there. Love is like the tides of the ocean; it’s continuously flowing. The love of a parent is the greatest current.

It will transcend time, space, and all understanding. Agape love is what I wanted for all my children. The intentions of a good heart. The empathy of a pure soul.

I thought I was building that as I shared my essence with those I deemed my siblings. Yet, the individual mind is what moves the tides, not the collective intention.

I learned this too late, and my heart has suffered. Now, I will right all wrongs and shift the tides as the grains of time mark a new time, a new era.

“She did this out of love. We must honor her memory by doing our part.” I hear Habun say as I enter ethereal pools.

I find her and Su-Vaha on the floor between the pools as Habun holds a sobbing Su in her embrace. I should have known Su-Vaha would take this hard.

She and Güç have always been extremely close. Su-Vaha has been to Güç as the sky has been to the ocean. Their friendship has no measure. However, this needed to be done, and it had to be done just as it has occurred.

“Why didn’t she tell me? Why wouldn’t she warn me before doing something like this?”

“Would you have stepped aside and allowed her to carry this through?” I say, alerting them both of my presence.

Su-Vaha looks up at me and wipes away her tears. I hold out my hand to her. She places her four-fingered hand in mine.

Su prefers this form she is in. She often tends to be in sea creature forms. However, at the moment, her hands and eyes are more like those of an amphibian. Like the creatures humans call frogs—her eyes and hands take on the animal’s features while others appear more humanlike.

When not in this form, she’s often in the form of a mermaid. I’m assuming she’s currently in this form after feeling the loss of our sibling and needing to surface from the pools.

She sniffles and looks up into my eyes with her amphibian ones. There’s pleading and sadness in her gaze. I can feel the hurt filling her being.

“No, I don’t think I would. If I had known, I would have taken her place,” she says tearfully.

“And this is why she could not tell you. This was her sacrifice to make.”

Su shakes her head before I finish my words. “I wish to understand. Why?”

“You will understand as things unfold. For now, as Habun has said, we must do our part. Is she ready?

“Will her gift manifest? Will she be able to harness İntikam this time?”

“We made sure she kept her virginity. It was a task, but it’s been done. As a result, her gift is already manifesting, and because of him, she will be able to control İntikam this time. He will begin to sense her now …”

Her words choke off. I already know what she was going to say. Güç’s sacrifice has lifted the veil. My sons’ mates will no longer be hidden from them. Nor will their mates’ gifts be shielded from everyone.

New York is so expensive. I’ve had to work two jobs to survive, so I could only go to school part-time. I’m almost done with my program. Then I’ll have a stable good paying job to get an apartment of my own.

One night I’m asked to have dinner, but the guy stands me up. Or at least I thought so until he runs up on me in the parking lot of the diner. Then this red-haired biker appears.

He believes I’m being attacked so he steps in to save me. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I know I have this pull toward him. I can’t even explain what happens after that. All I know is that I’m his and he is mine.

Bradan
I’ve been the Immortal Iron Brothers’ VP since its inception. I thought I’d never find my true mate. When I started to feel a pull to that diner. I never thought it was because she was mine.

I had only been curious about the little human. Then I felt her fear and it pulled me to her. That’s when I knew.

Something has changed. Now our mates are appearing. Seraphina was how I’ve passed a few decades. She has always known my true mate could appear.

She made the mistake of trying my temper and attacking my mate. Now, I have a fire fairy who needs to be put to ground. You feel me.

I’ve always loved to play with fire. Now we will learn if my mate can handle playing with flames or will she be consumed in the smoke.

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

It’s the internal flame within that they are drawn to. You can’t see it, but they can. Let it shine brightly.

―BLUE SAFFIRE

Lifting the Veil

Time is like a grain of sand blown away in the wind or swallowed up by the depths of the ocean—for us, it doesn’t exist. We are in all moments.

We are in the past, present, and the future. Time is the one gift I have reserved. I’ve always had an understanding of who each of my sons would be. I gifted them with powers that would suit their temperaments.

I had also intended to gift them with companions who matched their essence and would complete them. They were not meant to know loneliness as they weren’t meant to know the fractured concept of human time.

The start of the wars changed it all. Their mates were stolen from them. This was the first wrong I needed to right.

“Why is it you are following me?” I say as I stop in the corridor as I make my way to the ethereal pools.

I turn my head slightly to the left as I feel the presence of my sibling. Everyone I’ve trusted has an assignment to carry out. Rüya is no different. He and Güç have worked closely together on this mission.

“I didn’t know she would give her life,” he says from behind me.

Thunder sounds outside and rumbles through the corridor as my anger rises from him questioning me. He doesn’t need to know the ins and outs of what I have planned; he only needs to do his part.

“Have you done what I’ve asked of you?” I rumble, my back still to him.

It’s not like he’s in a form that will be visible to the naked eye anyway. Rüya is one who likes to remain in our original form. Pure energy.

“Yes, the dreams have begun. The veil has been lifted. He can feel her now. It is only a matter of time.”

Time. I snort. Everyone uses the word so freely without understanding its true meaning or purpose.

“You have insured she will remember what I have gifted her with?”

“Yes, brother. She will come into her true nature. The dreams will guarantee this.”

“Well done.”

“Tanrı, Güç … is she really gone?”

“Are we ever truly gone? You know as well as I do. You cannot destroy energy. It is re-formed to manifest in another form. Güç will always be with us. Her purpose has just changed.”

With that, I continue walking. Everyone has a part to play. Even I will play my part.

Dreamtime

Istumble into my apartment, exhausted and ready to face-plant in my bed. I need sleep. I crave it. Working two jobs and going to school part time is wearing me out.

However, I have no choice. At thirty, I thought I’d have my own place to go home to and have some peace. Nope, no such luck there. I’m dragging my butt into an apartment I share with three roommates.
Stay With Me

Knight

Our greatest fears can cripple us. They can strip us of life, happiness and worst of all love. I’ve allowed her fears to keep us apart for years. Partly because I understand their root. She has a right to them. But now, I have my own fear. The fear of losing her and never living the life I’ve come to want so badly.

Reminisce

He’s my sister’s husband’s brother. That’s right, Bishop Love Moran’s little brother. That’s the excuse I’ve used to keep him at a distance for the past two years. Well, for the last year he hasn’t been around and I haven’t had to lie to him or myself. Now, here he is when I’ve decided that I want to find love and someone to share my life with. But that can’t be him, right?

*************FULL BOOK START HERE*************

PREFACE

Say Something

Knight

“If you love me say it. Don’t be a fucking coward,” I bellow. My Adam’s apple bobs as I swallow. “If you love me, fucking admit it. Say something, baby. Admit that shit.”

She’s frozen in the middle of the parking lot. An umbrella held above her pretty head. She remains perfect as always. The opposite of everything I am.

Rain pours down soaking me to the bone. My hair is plastered to my forehead, covering my eyes as the downpour washes my overgrown locks into my face. My clothes cling to my skin, but none of that matters.

Not as long as she’s walking out of my life. Again. It doesn’t matter if we see each other in passing at family affairs. If she does this, she’s closing the one door that I want us to walk through together. She’s taking my heart this time.

“Reminisce,” I boom her name when she takes a slight step forward not turning to face me. “Don’t do this shit. You have no more excuses. I’m everything you want. Admit that shit and stop running from me.”

She turns slowly. Even through the rain, I can see the tears building in those gorgeous eyes. She’s so fucking breathtaking. I want to go to her, but that can’t happen this time. This time it’s all on her. She has to meet me halfway.

“What do you want from me?” she chokes out.

“I want you to tell the truth. I want you to put us out of our misery.” I pause and pound at my chest. “I’m what you want. The damn universe gave me to you on a platter. The one thing I loved is gone, and I’m on the fucking verge of losing the only thing I love more.”

“You don’t love me.”

“Bullshit and you know it.”

Her shoulders sag and she drops her head. It’s like time stops. I hold my breath. This is it. She’s going to break me for the final time.

I’m about to lose it all.

CHAPTER 1

Getting Ready

Reminisce

Six months ago…

I stand in front of the mirror taking myself in. The black dress is sexy, but flirty and classy. The strappy black heels are edgy and sexy.

I bite my lip and think for the millionth time that I should cancel. I mean, it’s a blind date. Is this what I want?

“You want a relationship, and this is how you’re going to move toward it,” I mumble to myself.

The diamond ankle bracelet around my ankle catches the light and reflects in the mirror. I look down at it and think to take it off. I’m thrown back in time to the man who gave it to me and how.

“Fuck, baby. You feel so good,” he groaned.

I threw my head back as he thrusted into me. My hands were fisted in the sheets, my fingers aching from the tight grip. He never fails to bring me blinding pleasure.

It’s why I’m so addicted to him. I cried out as he pulled my toe into his mouth and started to suck it as he began to thrust deeper. My entire body buzzed, my scalp tingled.

“Oh God, baby. Please,” I cried.

“You like that, baby?” he groans. “Your pussy is getting so wet. I want you to come for me again. Can you do that for me?”

“Yes, I’m coming. I’m so close.”

“I know. I can feel it. You earned this gift, baby. You make me want to spoil you. Look how pretty it looks on you.”

I looked at him in confusion and then glance at my ankle as he sucks on my toe. The diamond tennis bracelet winkled back at me as he started to pound harder, bringing me to climax.

“Fuck,” I cried out as I shook beneath him.

I laid there in shock, panting and wishing he could be the one. I loved the bracelet, but I think it’s time to take a break. I don’t want to get my hopes up. I know we can’t stay together.

I come back to the present as my phone rings. Running a hand over my forehead, I then release a breath. I push all those thoughts back. I need more than great sex.

I want stability and safety. He can’t give that to me, no matter how much I want that from him. I pick up my phone and look at the screen.

I sigh. Then there’s the other reason we can never be. Shaking my thoughts off, I answer the call.

“Hey, Saga. What’s up, sis?”

“Hey, when are you going to make some time for me and your nephews?”

“Are my little cuties asking for their favorite auntie?”

“You’re their only auntie, and they can’t talk yet,” she chuckles.

“If they could, they would tell you I’m their favorite.”

“Whatever, what are you up to? I feel like I got to talk to you more when I lived in New York than I do now that we live in the same state.”

“No,” she pouts. “Thanks for giving me a ride. I can’t believe Mama wrecked my car. I still don’t know why she had to borrow mine when she has her own brand-new car. She makes me so mad.”

“You need help getting your car back on the road?” I ask, ignoring all mention of her mama.

In all of this, I’ve tried my darndest not to bad-mouth my soon-to-be ex in front of our children. Oh, I have plenty to say, but I’ve been holding it all in. I had a bad feeling the moment Donna called and asked Jess to spend a few weeks with her.

Donna never takes any real interest in the kids. Jess had been excited, believing her mother wanted to spend time with her. I wasn’t going to take that from her, but now I wish I had.

Jess worked hard for her first car. I wanted to buy her one, but she insisted I only match whatever she came up with. My daughter has always been so responsible.

“Keith says it will be ready at the end of next week. Hopefully Mama will pay for it like she promised,” Jess replies.

“Yeah, with my money,” I mutter under my breath.

“Keith has been so helpful. I’m glad I took it to Uncle Roger’s shop.”

I roll my eyes. Of course, Keith has been helpful. I’ve seen more of that kid’s pale white ass around town as a teen than I did when he was a baby and I used to wipe his little shitty behind.

Roger’s oldest boy gets more ass than the seats on a city bus. He doesn’t seem to care where he gets it either. Of course, Jess has a crush on him.

Good thing I promised him I’d slam his pecker under the hood of a car if he even breathes in her direction—son of a good friend or not. Keith’s a good kid other than fucking anything that breathes, but he’s not for Jess.

“I do need your help with something,” she says cautiously, pulling me from my thoughts.

I stop at a light and glance over at her. “What do you need, baby girl?”

“Well, as you know, today is my first day. I used my last check from Uncle Cliff on the Ubers for my interview and to get to class. I have a project in my sociology class. We have to do a family tree and one of those DNA Ancestry tests. You know twenty-three or whatever.

“Anyway, I’m out of money. Can I burrow some cash until I get my first check? I’m sorry I need to ask,” she says.

Now, none of my kids have the greedy, squandering gene their mama has. Jess has been working for her own money since she’s been able to. Cliff was happy to give her a job on the ranch.

She’s been working for him since she was sixteen. The only reason she quit was because her college schedule wouldn’t fit around her work hours. This new job is closer to school and is more accommodating in terms of time.

I don’t think twice about giving her what she needs for school. I lift my butt to take my wallet from my back pocket. Dropping it in the seat between us, I nod for her to take it.

“You don’t have to worry about paying me back. Take what you need,” I say.

Jess plucks a few hundred dollar bills out and shows them to me. I glance over and nod. She places the wallet on the dash.

“Is that all you need? You can take more if you need it. What about lunch and your books?”

“I’m okay, Daddy. I’m only taking two classes for the summer to get acclimated. This should be enough. I’ll be fine once I make my first check.”

“What time should I pick you up?”

“I received a text from my supervisor this morning asking if I could work a double.”

“Already?” I chuckle and shake my head.

“They’re shorthanded, and she said the night shift is pretty easy. I’ll only be manning the reception desk. Lord knows I can use the hours. I guess I’ll have to text you once I find out what my quitting time is.”
