“I don’t…” Adam said, bringing my attention to him. “I don’t know where to grab them and help pull them off without getting inappropriate.”

“Just let it play out,” Sammy muttered. “Please, God. Just let it play out.”

I would’ve laughed, but I could still see Rogan’s bodyguard, the only one that’d stood back and watched it all happen, staring at me.

Hilton Barnes.

The creepy motherfucker with a stare that looked vacant.

I did not like him. Not one single bit.

“Oh, boy. Are you filming this?” someone from the end of the bar asked.

I looked over to find a man standing on the end of my bar with his phone in his hand, a smile a mile wide on his face, hooting and hollering right along with the screams and screeches of the strippers, and the bellows of Rogan and his bodyguards.

“Owww!” a stripper screamed.

That was when I saw her stomp down with her pointy heels, taking one of the bodyguards in the thigh with the lethal stiletto.

The screech that came out of the man was so high-pitched that I would’ve never known it’d come from a man if I hadn’t seen him scream with my own eyes.

Things just continued to deteriorate until Lynn finally came down from his office, looking pissed as hell that he was inconvenienced enough that he had to move from his comfortable chair.

“Ladies!” Lynn called out.

Not loud, but definitely loud enough that they heard him.

And, like always, the sound of Lynn’s voice had everyone in the room freezing.

The ladies pulled away as if their leader had spoken.

Which, in a way, he had.

Rogan, who was on the floor looking well used, sat up.

He had scratches on his face, his eyes were wide and surprised, and he had blood running out of his nose at a steady pace.

“I’d like to file sexual assault charges! That woman purposefully hit me in the face with her boob!” Rogan yelled.

There was a moment of stunned silence, then the cops in the room started to snicker.

“It was an accident, I’m sure,” Lynn drawled.

“No, I saw her do it on purpose. She took it in her hand and aimed it at my face!” Rogan countered.

Bruno, who I hadn’t seen come out of Lynn’s office with him, finally chose that moment to step in.

“Leave,” he said. “Don’t come back.”

Rogan scrambled to his feet, but still he did not retreat.

“I have video proof that you were the one that started all of this,” Bruno murmured. “I think you should take your crew, your bodyguards, and your attitude out of here before I give you a reason to leave.”

“Did you hear that man?” Rogan struggled to get closer to Bruno, but Sammy slid into his way. “He threatened my life!”

“You came in here threatening one of my employees,” Lynn said carefully. “You got in a fight. You smashed up a couple of tables, ruined some chairs, assaulted my girls, all the while pissed only because we refused to serve you. I’m sorry, but my employees matter to me. Men that play pretend for a career? Not so much.”

Rogan’s face went a mottled red.

“I…I’ve never…” Rogan shook his head. “That’s insane!”

Insane or not, Lynn wasn’t kidding or playing any longer.

“Leave,” Lynn said one last time.

“Sir,” Nathan said. “Either you need to leave, or I’m going to have to arrest you.”

“You put your hands on me, I’ll have your badge!” he snarled. “Then I’ll ruin you. Take your job. Your car. Your woman.”

Nathan snorted. “Listen, man. I probably have more in my bank account right now than you’ve made in a year. I don’t need my job, so feel free to do your best. And, just sayin’, but I don’t have a woman. So, there won’t be any taking her.”

“Well,” he snarled. “I’ll just see about that.”

Then, without another word, he walked out.

Or, he would have.

My brother met him at the door, and didn’t move.

“Get out of my way!” Rogan bellowed.

Sam, being Sam, stared at Rogan until he blanched and took a step back.

The bodyguard that should’ve really been in front of him anyway finally caught up.

Again, they’d been distracted by the boobs, and not paying attention to the tantrum that Rogan was throwing.

“I am not in the mood!” Rogan growled. “Please. Move.”

“In a second,” Sam said as he crossed his arms over his chest. “We need to come to a little understanding, you and I.”

Rogan started shaking his head. “No. I don’t even know who you are.”

“You don’t,” Sam agreed as he stepped to the side and allowed Rogan to exit. “But you will!”

The doors closed behind everybody but Sam, who turned around to glance in my direction.

He held out his thumb in a ‘are you okay?’ gesture.

I gave him a thumbs up back.

He nodded once and disappeared, leaving me staring at heaving breasts and glitter.

“I don’t know what happened,” Velvet, the original stripper that’d caused all the ruckus, said. “But that man is totally getting a bill from my lawyer!”
